Use of Oracle Express in Windchill 10.1 installation

We are preparing for our migration from 9.1 to 10.1. I would like to become familiar with the intallation, but do not wish to use our enterprise oracle at this time. I installed oracle express 11.2 but get an error when the Windchill installer tries to create the oracle tables.



Has anyone been able to get express to run with the installer?


The actual error is
output: "D:\ptc\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\bin\dbca" is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

We have run Windchill 10 with Oracle Express 10 (no problem) but we tend to run full oracle now on all our machines as we interpret that oracle allow this for development without a license, but I know this is open for debate. It is really quite easy to install the full oracle and Cognos does not support Express.

Hi,


I have used express to build dev machines of 9.1 and 10. Each time I manually created the tables and dbase user, as well as a couple of other options.


During the install of Windchill I then select to use existing dbase.
