Windchill Object Attribute Selection

I would like to have an attribute on a windchill object be assigned from a drop down list that is populated from an external database query. For instance I have a need to select a supplier to an object to assigna workflow variable; in this case I don't want to manage a supplier list, I just want to query my supplier database. Is this possible?

You can create an adapter, then create IE task to query on database.

Then format the output group elements of this task to drop down values and use a data utility for rendering the component.
