Windchill

Receiving the following error when exporting a particularly large report to XLSX.The error comes consistently at 60 seconds. Is there a timeout option for Apache that can be increased? Using a reverse proxy.  Proxy Error. The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request. Reason: Error reading from remote server. 

I'm new to using Windchill so I apologize for the dopey question. I have a lot of old assemblies and parts that I need to add to Windchill (say 50 assemblies each composed of 20 parts, so ~1000 files). They are currently organized (not on Windchill) using folder names, where each component has its own folder at the same level. For example, folder "blah" would contain the assembly and parts for component "blah". Since I don't have permission to add folders, I reached out and was told it's not good to organize things like that in Windchill and I should just put everything in the same folder. Not having various folders to organize components seems like it would make it difficult to locate components if they aren't named in a descriptive name (which they aren't, and I don't want to change the filenames). So if I have all the files in a single folder, rather than separated by folders with descriptive names, how will the next new person know what assemblies are what? Is there a way

Hi,We have a group of consultants who will be working on an upcoming project. They have their own Windchill licenses and Windchill environment.In order for these member to collaborate within our products do we need to assign them licenses from within our system or is it possible for two Windchill systems to interact with one another. Thanks!Laura

Our integrator has told us that system attributes (Name, Number, File Name, etc) pass data one-way from Windchill to the documents/drawings.  Need an attribute for part number that acts that same but am being told for non-system attributes we only have two options: Bi-directional or uni-directional (Document/Drawing to Windchill).  What attribute do other companies use for their part number or is there a way to configure attributes to be uni-directional Windchill to Doc/Drawing only?

We are looking for being provided with Roadmap and Features related to Windchill 12.0 but it seems that we are unlucky with this requirement... Initially, Windchill 12.0 was supposed to be released end of Q2 2019; now it has been announced to be released end of Q2 2020; in between, 11.2 has been released but there is no LTR (Long Term Release) scheduled for 11.2 as it is the case with 11.1 M020 So what is the best Upgrade strategy? considering that we would need to target 11.1 or 11.2 (from 11.0) and right away need to consider 12.0.2.0 (the LTR for WNC 12.0 to be scheduled end of Q2 2021), knowing that 11.1 will be supported until Q4 2022 and 11.2 will be suported until Q2 2022, which would give a very short amount of time to be supported with 11.2 (in case we select 11.2) according to the time needed to upgrade to 12.0 from 11.2...

We use more or less OOTB flows for promotion requests. Things work well and all notifications go out as they should until the promotion request is edited. On edits, there are no notifications that go out - at least to the extent that users that are participating in the workflow get a heads up that the request is being edited. Depending on where the promotion request is, the notifications go out from where the workflow left off. But what I'd like to have is that on edit, there should be a notification that goes out. How would I trigger that? Is there some sort of check box I'm missing that says "notify users on edit"? 

I recently upgrade Windchill Risk & Reliability from version 10.1 to 11.1.  I was able to covert all my projects to the new version using the Conversion Wizard, but it did not covert the files from the "CommonLibrary", particularly the Prediction Parts Library file (Prediction Parts Library.rlb).  How can I convert the file to version 11.1 so I can use it?

Hi there, the above is the screenshot about the issue: the released version of the drawing format is B released in 12 months ago. Since then, the drawing format has been accidentally revised to Rev H. We need to delete the drawing formats of revision C, D, E, F, G, and H. however, Windchill doesn't allow it, saying they are used in other workspaces.  How to delete them and only keep the released version B? Thanks.JS 

A customer would like to configure the publishing of STEP files so that the resulting file would not show any item structure, only the geometry as a single body. I couldn't find anything about changing settings for STEP conversions done by the CAD Worker in Windchill Visualization Services Guide. Can anyone point me to the right direction if this is even possible?

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS02An employee recently quit - how can another engineer access the former employee's workspace to continue the work from where they left off? The former employee's domain account has already been disabled.As a Windchill administrator can I navigate to the target workspace folder and move files over to another user's workspace?

After gathering various documents and preparing the PPAP "bundle", the entire "bundle" should be related to the WTpart that the PPAP is concerning. PPAP contains documents describing the process that creates the part. Such documents may change without the part being any different. A change to a document in a PPAP "bundle" will of course revise it, but the related part (which the PPAP is concerning), should not be revised due to the changes in the PPAP "bundle". I am curious.. How do you create a link between the PPAP "bundle" and the part it concerns, that does not demand the part to revise if the PPAP "bundle" revises? DescribedBy links will not work and Reference links are not appropriate either.

I have found a severe issue.  Or what I consider is a severe issue in workflows.   I had a user that created a change notice and attached a model and its drawing to it in the Resulting objects table. They submitted the CN for approval but the reviewer noticed there were no files in the table.  The assignee asked to have it sent back but they said the files ARE there.   They asked me as the org admin to look at it.  When I reviewed it even I couldn’t see the files on the Resulting Objects table.  I logged in as that user and was able to see them.   It turns out the Resultant Objects table had NEW objects in it.  The user never checked them in but the workflow allowed them to add the files to the table.  We have code in our workflow that won't allow the assignee to complete the task of the CN with checked out objects. The objects are new so technically they are not checked out.   We contacted PTC about this and technical support said it i

Hi,we have mapped the Windchill attributes in the document template like the Name and Number. And we've created a document using the template, If we download the created document in DTI format the documents show the new number and name (not a value of template) this is correct. If we download the document in word format the values in the created document are the same as the template number and name this is not correct. Please help us if there is any suggesstion.  

I admit to not searching nor testing very thoroughly,Is it possible at all to lock Windchill attributes in Word template so that Windchill can update them, but user can't tamper with the fields? Such as number, state in the header updated with DTI.The basic Word section break and restricting that from editing does not work, as expected...

I am wondering what functionality a Managed Collection would provide, that a Package is not providing already. To me it seems, that Packages provide the same capabilities as Managed Collections and add a lot of usefull functionality on top of that. There are a few comparisons in the documentation on how Managed Collections differ from Baselines, but I lack a comparison on how they are different from Packages. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.
