add drawing dimensions without updating model

We are trying to show a reference part in a drawing with reference dimensions.  Every time we create a reference dimension in the drawing Creo modifies the part.  We do not have the permission save this modification therefore the dimensions disappear when we open it.

Is there a way or a setting that will allow us to add drawing dimensions without updating model?
