Question

Change drawing view to different family table part

I  completed a drawing of a part and then later on added a family table to the part.  Now I want to change some existing views to show a different instance of the part.  Is this possible?  I have not found a way to do it.  I have added the models to the drawing.

As far as I remember, I think you can change all the views to reference a different family table member. I don't think you can change only selected views.

My work around would be to save-as the drawing to a temporary name, change that drawing to the desired family table reference using Layout - drawing models - replace. Then use layout, insert (drop down arrow)  import drawing/data and add the new drawing to the old one, delete the views I don't want, switch sheet on the ones I do want and delete the extra sheet(s).

Not a horrible work-around, saves a ton of time.

Maybe someone else has a better work-around.

You are right Stephen. There is no direct way to replace model for individual views until Creo 3.0

Refer to this post: Creo 4 has a solution.
