How to open .dwg file in Creo 2.0?

Hi

I want to open a .DWG File which is made in autocad 2011.

But when I open it,It give me "Invalid DWG file" message.

Can you please share step by step process to open DWG File.

according to https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?source=subscription&n=CS134024:

  • Creo 2.0 supports AutoCAD import up to 2010
  • Creo 3.0 supports AutoCAD import up to 2013

On the other side AutoCAD 2011 uses the same native file format as AutoCAD 2010. See http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/autocad-release-history.html

Therefore it is difficult to say, what is going on. You can contact PTC Support, if you want.

  • Creo 2.0 supports AutoCAD import up to 2010
  • Creo 3.0 supports AutoCAD import up to 2013

Therefore it is difficult to say, what is going on. You can contact PTC Support, if you want.

    The easiest & fastest workaround for this is to save in a earlier version of autocad(save as -> files of type[change here]).

      Hi All,

      I want to open simple .dwg file in creo.

      Is it possible to show me step by step process.

      can you upload your DWG file ? See How to upload Creo (or other) files

      If it contains secret info, can you provide some test file ?

      Nikhil,

      I have opened 3303793_04 JTY-GDM-SIGA-DSC...V1.dwg file in Creo 2.0 successfully. Before opening I renamed it to v1.dwg.
