Restricted Parameter file not loading

  • August 3, 2016

With Creo2.0 m100, we used to get a message at start up that the restricted_params.txt file had been loaded.

After the upgrade to Creo2.0 m220, we no longer get the message and even after changing the restricted_params.txt file, Creo does not update to the latest version.

Is this a bug in Creo2 m220 and has anyone else seen it?

Ben Loosli‌, if this indeed is the issue, you can set the CREO_AGENT_EXE_PATH environment variable so it will run over the network and not have to be installed locally.  See CS104032 for more info.

Do you have it listed in your config file?  restricted_val_definition <path with filename and extension>

I would like to know what does this file do? This will be helpful to me.

Thanks in advance.

Basically you can pre-define valid values or ranges for parameters.  Probably best to start with the help documentation and then come back with questions.

Hi,

I got it !

CR2 M210, CR2 M220

Creo platform agent must be installed ! If it is not installed then restricted_val_definition does not work !

CR2 up to M200 does not require Creo platform agent.

Hi,

an example follows ...

params.png

CONN_TYPE parameter is restricted and is not locked

A and B parameters are note restricted and locked (because they are used in relations)

Hi,

Sorry.... when I said "Locked" I'm refered to column "Restricted"

I don't click for restricted, when I created the parameter

You have created a CONN_TYPE ... How could you restrict it?

Gorka Garcia

Hi,

you have to define restricted parameters in special text file and put the path to this file as value of restricted_val_definition option in config.pro file.

Hi,

Yes, I have the file (I copied the same example text in Creo Help.

Example restricted parameter file

and I have the command inside config.pro with your path and file

I re-started Creo 3.0

I go to Parameter Dialog Box / I created the same parameter, by example "num_2"

That is inside the parameter file
