Spring icon inside of an assembly's blue/yellow square in the model tree?

What does a spring icon inside of an assembly's blue/yellow square symbol in the model tree mean??

 

I'm familiar with the different variations and combinations of boxes next to the names of parts in the model tree.  But this spring actually inside of the assembly symbol?

 

Any answers/theories are welcomed and appreciated.
