Does anyone know how to stop Creo 1 from minimizing the ribbon when you
switch between tasks?

Many thanks to Scott Larsen who had the correct answer. It turns out
that if you have E-Drawings installed it causes the ribbon to auto
minimize somewhat randomly. I uninstalled it and the problem has gone
away. I am following up with PTC for a long term solution.

It should'nt minimize unless you double click it. If is does mimimize Crtl, F1 will bring it back.

Hi

Click on the arrow up/down button " ^" , "which read as toggle the
ribbon......" . At the upper right hand corner, next to search and
help command.

That minimizes or expands it, but it doesn't prevent it from auto
minimizing.

If you create a new part and then create a new assembly, the ribbon auto
minimizes without the user telling it to. Its really annoying.

The Ribbon on Creo is no different than that of Microsoft Office products. You can double click a tab to toggle the ribbon to auto minimize or to stay open at all times. You can also do this with the UP arrow icon next to the Search Command icon.

If it's minimizing on it's own, you double click a tab or click on the arrow. This will take it out of that mode and if you close the part and open another, it will remain with that behavior.

I can create a short video of this if you like.

In Reply to Chris Rees:

Hi Chris,

I wonder if you have edrawing installed? I was having a very similar problem and when I contacted tech support, the answer after a lot of fooling around was that somehow edrawing publisher was causing the ribbon to behave erratically. I also wanted to save the little toolbar in the status bar, which by default shows up in the active window. Same issue with that. Well, I hope it gets worked out, because I need edrawing and the collapsing ribbon is a pita (pain in the a$$)

Here is a short video showing the auto-hide behavior.
