We are evaluating the PTC Integrity tool, and we have a databased system for tracking files for projects and a very flat means of tracking files in a repository by individual files/branches/versions. Thus we clash heavily when because Integrity's Projects are doing much the same. In the PTC Integrity training I've done so far, mentioned but not expounded upon is the Archive. I suppose an archive is just a container for (or simply a database object to track) versions of a file, any labels or special attributes that may be associated with the file, and the content of the file. Are there any commands that would allow users to extract files by version, check-in files, check-out files, and build sandboxes from specific versions of files or by label with respect to the Archive rather than via the Project? We have a very complex system where the Project level might apply easily at a subsystem level, but it gets overwhelming "fast, quick and in a hurry" when we combine that complexity with the
Hi all,We are currently recruiting Integrity customers to participate in the following panel discussions at our PTC Live Global user conference, June 16-18 in Boston . If interested, please drop a line to -. All panel participants will receive complementary admission to the event. Many thanks.Panel Discussion: Requirements Engineering for ManufacturersHow are manufacturers capturing, prioritizing and validating the voice of the customer throughout the product development process? Manufacturers face unique challenges in the domain of requirements engineering, including the explosive growth of product variants, the growing complexity of smart connected products, the challenges of managing global and distributed teams, and ever-evolving regulatory requirements. This panel discussion will explore the latest best practices that leaders are using to rise above these challenges and deliver the right products to the right market. Panel Discussion: ALM Deployment Tips and TricksThe roll-out of
We have recently added an additional Integrity server for staging and deployment which caused us to lock down the production server. When adding new users to our Integrity system, we currently have to import them from LDAP, and then use the Integrity Admin Migration Wizard to move the new user to the production environment. Is there an easier way to accomplish this task of adding a new user to production?

I don't know if this has been asked before, but I'm trying to get hold of the latest version of implementer update program to apply ptfs/our upgrade to 10.3.Search for "Implementer Update" really isn't going to ever win any prizes, so I just thought I'd try and put the question out there.I've install 10.3, but now I'm trying to get the installer for others to be able to use. The manual says that its on the IFS /mks/implementer/ptcim, but the version I've got there is the older 1.0.4 which won't allow anyone to install the 10.3 ptf.I've tried to go through the PTC product download pages, but .. i won't use the word tosh.. they've been unhelpful if anyone can give me an easy way to get hold of the implementer update 1.0.5+ then i'd be grateful.cheers
This has been a question which gets asked of PTC Support time and again. Unfortunately there is no *good* way to do it with out-of-the-box Integrity functionality so I am making this blog post to share with everyone what one of our largest Workflows and Documents customers has done. If you have worked with Integrity for some amount of time, you know that if you can dream it, you can build a system to track it.Attached is a Powerpoint presentation outlining the basic set-up of one customer's process with a few redactions and rewording to remove sensitive data. At a high level, here is what they did:Created a new type to hold data about each admin object in the system (Admin Objects).Created an IBPL field backed with those items to make a nice drop-down list of objects to choose when tracking their changes.Created a couple types to track the user requests and actual configuration work details ('Change Request' from end users and 'Integrity Dev Task' for the admin team to break-down the w

Hi @all,i'm searching for a way to get information about all our users and their groups. Especially in source this seems not to be so easy. So i tried the commandline:aa usersand i get many, many users, but not all. Why? Which parameter prevents user "A" from being shown by "aa users", and user B not?Second try: i dont know whether the group "everyone" is an out-of-the-box-group in integrity or not, but all of our users are members of this group. So i thought i could use this line:aa groups --member everyonebut i didnt get any user. Why?With any other group i get a full list of members of this group, but since not every user is in every group this is a mess. With:im usersi get another list of users, but i know that it cannot be a complete list. This list has less members than the list from "aa users", but there are members shown by "im users" which are not shown by "aa users". ??? I dont know what i can believe? Is there any hidden parameter for "aa users" or "aa groups" to show me all u
Hello Team,1. One of the user is not able to create a build sandbox from a main project.2. I have attached screenshot of these.Should i take any actions with respect to this?Kindly suggest a suitable solution.Regards,Vinayak
How can I lock down a branch in Integrity ?
Hello,I am using MKS Java API to creat Sandbox/drop Sandbox for a project. The code works fine in my local (win7+Integrity10 client+hotFix s100000000-022). However, when I tested in an AIX server (the server has Intergrity10 client +HotFix s100000000-022), the same code always throw exception. I tested si command from aix command line and it worked fine. All enviornment varibles are set as builder guide/user guide suggested. By the way, I tested si command from AIX command line and the si command worked without any issue. The following is the exception:java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Cannot load apiclientrunner at com.mks.connect.ClientCmdRunnerImpl.(ClientCmdRunnerImpl.java:53) at com.mks.connect.UserApplicationSessionImpl._createCmdRunner(UserApplicationSessionImpl.java:546) at com.mks.connect.CmdRunnerCreatorImpl.createCmdRunner(CmdRunnerCreatorImpl.java:90) =================================================================================The following is my code:cmdRunner = ipf.creat
Can anyone help me out to get the ID of the very Last item present in Integrity? We have a workaround, that is create an item and the ID returned is the Id of the Last item in Integrity. But the restriction is, I dont want to create an Item in Integrity.
I have question about Integrity API connection (API Version: 4.12.4301), I am using Jenkins CI server to poll PTC Integrity’s source code repository, there is a Jenkins plugin can help me to access my Integrity top level project, but if I want to check-out a sub-project of the top level project, the API will give me the MKS125212 error message, like below log.Preparing to execute si projectinfo for #/168/DAP2500AB A/An API Exception was caught! The project #/168/DAP2500AB A/ could not be located on the server 172.16.0.19:7001: MKS125212: The project file /168/DAP2500AB A/project.pj is not registered as a top level project with the current server.si projectinfo --user=tw.168.sw.01 --port=7001 --hostname=172.16.0.19 --project=#/168/DAP2500AB A/ -- returned exit code 128Finished: FAILUREHow do I checkout the project in “#/168/DAP2500AB A”, not all projects in “#/168”?Thank you,Snaku
Hi @all,we have in IM an Item (Module-Request (MR)), which has subitems (Tasks) linked via relationship. Both item-types have workflows. The tasks can have different task-types:MR --+-- task (task-type A) (obligatory) +-- task (task-type B) (optional if task-type C exists) +-- task (task-type C) (optional if task-type B exists) +-- task (task-type D) (obligatory) +-- task (task-type E) (obligatory)All tasks are linked with the same relationship-field in the MR.The MR has a workflow with many states, and in every state it will append one task. Now we want to do a query about this: If a MR is in a special state ("InTest") and one or more of the tasks type B or C are linked, and all of the linked tasks (type B or C) are in the same special state ("Finished" or "Invalid"), the the query should find this MR. Oll other tasks (type A or D or E) doesnt matter. With the rule-wizard in the query-builder i didnt find a way to have the logical link between the linked tasks and their state. Here is
Hello,We are using Integrity 10.4 for Change Control and Management but I now want to see what Requirements Managements features are available. However I cannot see any RM functionality. Do I need to install some additional modules? On p203 of the Server Administration Guide for Integrity 10.4 (2013) it suggests downloading the ALM Solution template but I cannot see this anywhere on the site. Can anyone point me to where this might be available? Thanks.
Hi @all,our users have some queries which fulltext-search in longtext-fields. Some of these fields are richttext-fields, and the text, which the user is searching for, is inside tables. If this is the case, the query doesnt find the text. Is this a bug, or do we have to change our way to search? Thanks, kind regards, Jens
When I add a constraint to the source for a CREATE TABLE I am getting errors that the previous constraints already exists. Also I was able to compile a table with a constraint but was unable to promote the table because the reference table was not in the staging schema/library.I get a FILE not Found in IMAY04.HELP Please!
HiDo you know a way to get the project path of a given sandbox from the information contained in the project.pj file?I had an heuristic like this:If second line contains port information then parse 5th line like explained below. This is the case for the sandbox root.Use File:1.8 - atgrzas071:7001 /Controls/project.pj ÿÿÿÿ 29108/project.pj ÿÿÿÿ DRE0002/project.pj ÿÿÿÿ AVLab_m/project.pj + Ãsandbox.attribute._mks_sparse=false,sandbox.attribute._mks_scope=any,sandbox.attribute._mks_shared=false,sandbox.attribute._mks_lineterminator=native,sandbox.attribute._mks_compute_checksums=true ?€y Ç /%æX € > AVLab_m/project.pj */Controls/29108/DRE0002/AVLab_m/project.pj ...Else parse second line.Example:Use File:1.8 > doc/project.pj ./Controls/29108/DRE0002/AVLab_m/doc/project.pj The parsing of the given line can be done by looking for the string between the 2 project.pj ( tok=regexp(line,'/project.pj(.*/project.pj)','tokens');).Unfortunately I encountered 1 project.pj that looks like this
Is there a way to export the Change Package information for an item in a similar way to exporting the items in a query to excel in MKS Integrity 10.
Hello,I'm trying to synchronize some content between PTC-Integrity and MS Project.Everytime I try to synchronize the "Assigned User" of an Integrity-Taks with the the "Resource Names" field of a MS Project-Task the resource is added to the project but NOT assigned to the Task. Our company is currently using your Integrity 10 product. It appears that the “Retarget Sandbox” feature does not work correctly, in that it take at least as long as, if not longer than, pulling a complete new project from scratch. Is there a know issue with this feature, or am I somehow mistaken?
Is there a way to determin the current user in a report recipie?I would like to set Icons based on the user generating the report. Examples: "I Reviewed" "Please Approve" "Assigend to me"In the gui, I use relevancy rules to show this information. However, I cannot seem to get relevancy rules to work in the web client
Hi @all,today some users came to me and asked me if following would be possible: We have amongst others two itemtypes in our changemanagement: lib-request and package-request. The lib-request has a relationship-field, which can hold some of the package-requests. The idea was that user a could place a package-request into the relationship-field of the lib-request, but this should be some kind of deferred relationship, and user B has to confirm (or negotiate) this relationship. Is this possible (without a third request)? Thanks, Jens
