Arbortext

I know that if you have, for instance, a concurrent license, and you look in your Arbortext...\bin directory, there will be a DLL file named "elmdlm.dll". If you have a fixed license, there will be one named "elmdsl.dll". You can add the use of a fixed license to a PC with a concurrent license that you want to use when it is disconnected from your network where the concurrent license is managed. You would usually do this for a laptop on which you want to use Arbortext while on travel.Conversely, you can do the opposite, so that a fixed-license-only PC can use a concurrent license on a network with a server-based license manager (although why you would want to do this if you already have a fixed license is beyond me).Anyway, you can do this by copying the desired DLL from the Arbortext.../dll folder and pasting it into the Arbortext.../bin folder. I believe this works for all versions of Editor up to 5.2. I am not sure about newer versions.

I have a need to pull selected information from my "master" XML file and write it to an XML file with a different DTD. I'll need a separate process to take information from that separate XML file and put it back in my "master." Does any one have suggestions about thebest way to go about this? Thanks, Carolyn Herlin

We use to have epic editor 5.1, which was showing many tags on insert markup popup windon mode selected as PI, whereas in case 5.3M100, we are able to see only 3 markups tags.if i want to see markup in mode selected as PI, tags expecting are newline, newpage, handspace, hyphen point, which were showing in 5.1version epic ediot.what needs to do to show these tags in 5.3 M100 epic editor

So I have a need to make white text on a black background for my headings.I've got thsi working with font color and highlighting (white text and abox with black).This is fine for the output but the editor is not displaying the text(white on white). The boxing is not showing up in the editor view. I canset the font background to black, but that looks grey and affects thecomposed result as well with a grey background.Is this where I need to start managing a editor version of the FOSI and acomposed version? What are the Apply -> Use for Editor and Use forComposed View supposed to do? I can't find any documentation on these...dan

I have a xml content has characters in china, Japan and Korean languages, generated pdf showing blank in place of these characters.What are pre requisites to support these languages on publish server(Arbortext Publishing engin 5.3).i have configured fosi file as below and server has installation of Arial Unicode MS<font style="serif" famname="Arial Unicode MS" size="11pt" posture="upright" weight="medium"width="regular" offset="0pt"/>.Does the server also require installation of East Asian language pack or any other configuration required?

I have a feeling this requires a psuedo element but I wanted to check. We try to implement Isodraw 7.1 M030 with our existing Windchill PDMLink 9.1 M040.I've been able to connect Isodraw with the UWGM and check-in .ISO files. I'm trying to retreive images (productview format .PVZ) from PDMLink into my workspace and then open it with Isodraw but I've never been able to do this.Any one faced this issue?

Hi,we are currently using Arbortext Editor 5.4 M020. We are extending the editor with Java functionality; one of the third party components used by our tool uses DOM Level 3 (in detail: Node.getTextContent()).Is there a reason why the editor does not implement DOM Level 3? The supplied Java Version (1.6.0.13) shouldn't be the problem...Is there a way to add DOM Level 3 support to the editor?Best regards,Mathias Harbeck

Does Arbortext IsoDraw support VB Scripting other than macros for batch processing.

I'm using Editor 8.0 for US Navy NPE PMS development. But I need to update the software with the following patches: Ad801x86.exe and Ad81win.exe In the support area of PTC it gives no updates for the version 8.0 software. Where or how can I obtain these updates?

We are using Arbortext editor 5.3 to author content and storing in documentum, if we place cursor after the last element, on save in epic it is adding processing instruction <?Pub Caret?> after last element, this is causing issue in documentum considering this as element.we want to to remove processing element if exist as a last element, please let me know how to remove.Thanksvittal

Hi,Has anybody done a check to see if an internal file (i.e. index.app) if it exists? What my problem is that we have a template that always puts in an Index tag even when there aren't index entries. So what I would like to do is check to see if the index.app file has anything in it before I put out the Index header etc. I think it might be some kind of system-func or #FOSI type check, but I haven't come up with anything yet.Thanks,Ellen

Got a question for a friend of mine. She has suddenly lost her print options. They are now grayed out. Looking at her session information, the print composer is installed, but no license has been obtained.I checked this with my session information and I have the same configuration. The only difference being my print functions are still showing as available. She told me she this was working fine earlier in the morning and has now just died. She says her preferences have not been changed. Among other issues she is seeing that may be related are under the formatting menu, the 'select stylesheets' option is grayed out AND it is the only option she has. Even with 'full menus' set to on. Her version is 5.4 M050 with Macro$carf Windows XP 32bit.She is also getting an error about not being able to locate icons when she starts up. She checked that error on the PTC site and it says it has to do with UNIX systems (strange for a Windoze system). Thanks for any help.Lynn

Curious: When you post to Adepters<">mailto::-> do you see your own posting? Before April of this year I saw all of mine, but not since. The only way I see it is if someone else replies and includes my post.I also suspect that I don't see posts from certain others. Adepters:We're using AE 5.4 patch M050 and use the XHTML table model in our custom schema. We've noticed that when the table structure does not include <thead> or <tbody>, the <table> tag itself is not displayed in the editor. With <thead>/<tbody> applied, you see the table tag. This is in the table editor view, of course.Anyone know why this is true? Our authors want the table tag to always be visible.Dave HintzSiemens
