I am using Arbortext Editor with Styler V7.0 M070 with DTD 38784STS-BV9a. Somehow, the numbering of the figures in my Appendix got out of whack. In my chapter 8 I have 35 figures and they are numbered 1-35. But in my appendix the first figure shows as A-36. I need it to be A-1. Any help is appreciated.
Hi Folks,We have been using Arbortext as a publishing tool for almost a year now. So far we have not had too many issues we haven't been able to overcome. Typically our documents are between 50 - 200 rendered pages and contain images, lists, cross references, and often many tables. From time to time, I get complaints from users indicating that after rendering documents multiple times, they get segment violations and Arbortext closes. The work around is to restart and keep going. It seems that the more complex the tables get (cell spanning) the more likely we have issues. For fun, I took a document and copied the content many times over to see what would happen when we have a larger document - the result is Arbortext will just crash about 330 pages or so into rendering. From a system perspective, I can see memory usage climb (x32 version here) to just over 1.1 GB before the crash. The error I commonly see is editor.exe: segment violation (signal 11).My question is this, how do others han

We have a menu file that we are trying to call up, using the siteprefs file. It should get the menu file from the unzipped application folder, but I cannot figure out what the path should look like. The file is located in the custom\lib folder. If I enter the entire path I can see the menu. But that does not work for my other users then. <Variable name="APTMENUFILE" value="..\custom\lib\menu.cf"/></EnvironmentVariables> Thanks Bryon

Does anyone use Isodraw (or Creo Illustrate) instead of Adobe Illustrator to do their 2d artwork that goes on the outside of a product? I thought I heard someone say in the past that they do this, but recent conversations seem to indicate that these tools are primarily for the 3d conversion for publications. I'm curious to hear about the Adobe Illustrator replacement capabilities. Thanks!
Hi, I've found the explanation for a few Diagnostic Information Types within the manuals for Arbortext, such as 5.27, 10.25, 10.26 and 10.27. Through the years, I've come across the setting of 3.27. I've figured out that the last one give a ton of information on the code being processed. However, that's all I know. I have not been able to find a "list," if it exists, nor other options that may be available. Is there any documentation out there that explains these debug codes? They're used with the "set debug=..." command. Thank you, Bob

Hi, Does anyone know how to resolve a "Capacity exceeded: DISPATTR page table entries"? I've hunted everywhere I can think of, including the code. I've found where the message comes from, but now how to set it or resolve it. I'm assuming because it's not set in any configuration that it's using its default value. I apparently have to increase that value, but can't figure out where or how. On a side note, what is causing it appears to be when I use too many entities within a FOSI stylesheet. Even when I flatten the stylesheet, thereby removing the entities, I still get the error, so I don't think it's the entities themselves, but rather the amount of coding. Thanks in advance, Bob
We have a table in the front matter which has a title. Since there is no chapter it shows Table .1: What should the condition look like in the title in table element to select a title in table in front matter. I can remove the generated text, but need to figure out how to select the correct instance. We are using the techinfo application. In the ditamap it is techinfomap, coverpage, then two topicrefs before the toc. Any table before the toc would not get a chapter number. Thanks Bryon

We have a weird issue. We can send a ditamap publish job with profiles to APE and it publishes as expected. If we send a single topic with profiles we get an orange page, and an error message. From what I can tell from the error message, is that it does not know which pageset to use. Everything works as expected with print composer. Hi, as you know it is normal today to do everything web-based within a browser. Our customers also would like to edit xml-content in a browser, without any need of extra software like Servigistics Arbortext Editor. You cannot find a performant and user friendly xml-editor within a browser. You can implement an own xml-editor for example with HTML 5, but this is time consuming and at the end not user friendly like Arbortext Editor. Can anyone tell us, if it is planned from PTC in the future to integrate the Servigistics Arbortext Editor in a browser? Ideally without further system requirements, so that a customer can edit with only a browser. We think, that would be a very important enhancement for the Arbortext Editor. Greetings from germany
