Hi guys, we need to count the characters (including spaces) within a xml, but without counting the characters of some specific xml-tags, which e.g. includes meta-information. My idea was to begin from the root element and go forward until end and count with the command length: length(oid_xpath_string(oid_caret(),".")) But i have problems with the count with nested xml-tags. Maybe you guys had the same requirement and can help me. Thank you in advance. Greetings from germany
Hello. I am really looking to get some feedback and help. In Arbortext, I am able to get the logicalId of the current document. I wish to use this information to call Windchill and have Windchill do a search for this document. Next, I want to display the result(s) of the document in the "Browser" dialog. - What ACL Repository API calls should I look at to call Windchill from Arbortext with this information? - Is the Arbortext ''Browser' dialog (which returns the results of a search) available/exposed to a developer? What ACL calls are related?
Hello, Under Arbortext Editor and with ACL language, I would like to activate a customized menu (grayed or not) depending on the context. For example, if the cursor of the mouse is in a specific tag, the customized menu is activated. If not, the menu is disabled (grayed).
Is there a way to retrieve the Windchill server URL using ACL in ArborText editor?
Hello, I want to use customized Java classes contained in an archive File (custom.jar). I have put my Jar file in the directory "Arbortext-path\custom\classes" The Java classes use librairies (Jar files) which are contained in my Jar file "custom.jar". The Java classes contained in my Jar file are loaded but not the librairies. How to load the librairies contained in my Jar file ? Best regards. David G
Greetings! I've been trying to find a way to open the Windchill information page for a dynamic document that is currently open in ArborText Editor using ACL. I've tried going through the metadata attributes on the document, but can't seem to find anything useful for building the URL to the Windchill page. Are there any document metadata attributes or Windchill customizations that could facilitate this process? I appreciate any help that can be offered.
Hi All! I'm trying to duplicate some content that uses letters instead of numbers for footnote callouts. Is there a way to duplicate this in Styler? I realize that I could just use <fn callout="a"...., but I want this to be automated instead of having to hardcode values that might change.
Ok, back to this subject for a second please:Anyone aware of any available S1000D stylesheets for PDF output? We've been working XML to the Army's 40051 spec's XSL-FOs, but I'm not seeing anything at all available for S1000D. I hope to get a screen FOSI from our Trilogi browser guys, but they don't do PDFs. I understand EMS-NG is having to build their own PDF output stylesheets outside of the Army's XSL-FOs. The Army's XSL-FOs really aren't a very good basis for building something for S1000D in my opinion.Earlier discussions (some even BAE guys 😉 by adepters have been very enlightening - thanks. Thought I'd ask this in a new unit of time to see if anyone has come across or come up with anything they were willing to share. Thanks! John T. We have 2 different types of documents, and the QuickTags list only shows up in one type. What triggers when the QuickTags list is displayed? I already have the Preferences option "Show Quick Tags on Enter" selected, and in our "chapter" documents, QuickTags work great. In our "book" document, I get an error: "[A11131] Insertion of text not allowed in this context." I'm not sure why <enter> is trying to insert text rather than bringing up QuickTags. In order to insert a tag, I have to go to the Insert menu and select Markup. That correctly gives me the context-sensitive list of allowable tags. How can I get QuickTags to work correctly?
Recently, we migrated from Arbortext 5 to Arbortext 7. I have selected show quick Tags on Enter Inside Tools--> Preferences --> Advanced.. quicktags ,smartinsert both are on. quicktags not working specifically for a particular AU and for a particular parent tag alone that too when we clone AU .. It is working fine when I edit the existing AU. Problem is only when I clone or create a new AU. I am able to get the context-specific tags by right click and Insert Markup... But not by clicking the Enter button.
I would like to know "reltable" feature in Arbortext DITA XML supports in Windchill CMS.Basically my understanding is that "reltable" creates/shows the link between the topics in a map. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks,Bala AJ

Is there a way that I can search for a specific empty element and delete it from multiple locations? My thought was to open a rde and do it from there but when I search for the element it finds the ones that have content also? Thanks Bryon
Hello Everyone, Can you please help me to automate arbor text using C# or JavaScript for Copy and Paste Operations. Please provide me samples if any code is available. Thanks and Regards, Yogesh
We are experiencing random reset of our AE preferences. We thought it may having something to do with automatic system updates on our servers. I have set the 'save window configuration on exit' to 'never' hoping that this would prevent this from happening. I have noticed that user's experiencing this issue their setting above changes back to the default 'prompt' after their preferences are wiped out. The preference file is saved in each user's C:\Windchill\AE\preferences\arbortext.wcf folder. Has anyone experienced the above issue? If so, have you been able to resolve?

Hi All,Is there any option to open / import pdf file into Isodraw CAD Process 7.3?Thanks,Push.
I'm running Arbortext Editor 6.0 and I have the option under Object to Connect to PTC Server; however, there is no server name listed as an option to select. If I select 'Work Offline', I cannot proceed to 'Next' to browse or select an object. I want to add mp4 files to work packages we are developing per Mil-Standards we follow. Is there a reason for not being able to select 'Work Offline' to proceed to browsing and selecting the files I want? I believe a new DTD needs developed to allow for these types of files, but is that reason for why I can't proceed further? Thank you.
Hi, When I use a cross-reference to refer to a figure, a table, or a chapter, it is displayed in PDF as below: see Figure 1.1 XXXXXXX, page x Now I want to remove the page number, and I have edited the xref attribute in Styler to <_gte:CrossReference refAttr="href" xrefStyle="Text"/>. But in PDF, the page number still exits. Could someone provide a solution to remove the page number? Thanks.

I have this macro to get rid of all these duplicate callout styles from our .iso files. Not sure but would like to know why these new callouts come in when pasting elements that are not callouts. Regardless, I have this macro below and am simply trying to figure out how to shorten it with a “For/While If/Then” string function of some sort. Also below is a version of my many failed attempts. Can anyone help? Working code but long winded: SubMacro Clean Out Callouts WHILE (exists(activedoc.callouts["YBAEcallout"]) = true) DELETE CALLOUT_STYLE "YBAEcallout" END while WHILE (exists(activedoc.callouts["Normal-1"]) = true) DELETE CALLOUT_STYLE "Normal-1" END while WHILE (exists(activedoc.callouts["Normal-1-1"]) = true) DELETE CALLOUT_STYLE "Normal-1-1" END while WHILE (exists(activedoc.callouts["Normal-1-1-1"]) = true) DELETE CALLOUT_STYLE "Normal-1-1-1" END while WHILE (exists(activedoc.callouts["Normal-1-1-1-1"]) = true) DELETE CALLOUT_STYLE "Normal-1-1-1-1" E
Error occurs when user opens a specific file and also when user tries to insert a tag. User presses Enter and the list of available tags appears for less than a second, disappears and then the error appears. Work-around for user is to use the command line or “Insert Markup” from the menu. Is there a way to increase the area within the element?

Key Functional Highlights Enhancements to APP Debugger A new title bar shows the name of the APP file being debugged. A new toolbar groups existing buttons into a single location. Keyboard shortcuts provide access to many of the commonly used functions. Display Inspector: The Inspector window on the right of the debugger includes a Display area, which shows the current state of the fDisplay object. It is more simple to inspect the formatted page in this area. Control Stream Object View: An object view for control streams facilitates the navigation and edit of lengthy control streams. The view is available when a control stream is opened for edit in the debugger. Viewing Stream References: When viewing objects, it is common to see references to different content streams, for example an fFrame object’s text property pointing to an fStream object. If a property refers to an editable tag, the debugger shows a red magnifying glass icon. Click the icon t
