Is there a way to unify this? Before snaps went in, it was a bit easier to explain what catch was. Now that there are both, I think it can be confusing for a new user. Why is it that one command uses snap while everthing else uses catch.
Seems to me they could easily write a java script we could run and parseout this information without us having to send them trail files. Justrun a link and it would create a parse file and upload to them only thedata they need. Also they could save the information in a text file sothe user can see exactly what is being sent. Sending them all our trailfiles does not seem right and most companies security policies willprobably not allow it. My 2 cents. Gerald LanzTeledyne Brown Engineering

Have any of you come up with a good way to use Pro/E to calculate paint area(ie, the exterior surfaces of a hollow cube weldment)? Thanks. -- Lyle BeidlerMGS Inc178 Muddy Creek Church RdDenver PA 17517717-336-7528 Fax 717-336-0514-http://www.mgsincorporated.com
Okay..... I just burned up half the A.M. trying to figure out how to measure in Wildfire. Completely frustrated, any suggestions? I simply would like to know the distance from one component to another. My old mapkey for measure edge to plane doesn't work in wildfire. Thanks for your responses.
Does anyone have a dinosaur model to share? Or point me to a location to download? Every site I find wants $$$...and its just for a demo! Thanks!
The solution is to use the SHADE command from the VIEW pull down menu. Thanks Gang,Doug

I would like to know if there is a way to ignore layers when importing or opening details from an outside source? We have imported DXFs, DWGs, and IGES files and it appears that the layers that the outside sources have applied will get applied in some cases. The problem is that a lot of the times there will be 1 layer that will contain ALL of the 2D geometry (dims, lines, everything). That layer becomes very difficult to work with. Even if we want to delete it - Pro ends up getting hosed-up and will just die, or we end up having to KILL it.Any advise on how to deal with this will be appreciated.Thank You & Best Regards,Dan
