What's the width of my 3D- Object? Where can I find measuring tools?

We are going to be getting some work where the company has autodesk inventor file extensions .ipt, .iam, .idw, .ide could anyone tell me if these can be imported into pro eng wildfire 3.0 or do we need to get a plugin for these extensions. thanks

I have with succes converted many parts to obj files. The result is very nice. I have problems with some parts, nothing is written to the output file. How can that be? ProE just writes: "0 triangles have been written in output file", but why?

Hello- I would like to know if there is a library or resource where I can find out about the available special symbols or flags for notes such as "@[x@]" or "&add7"

Is there a way to get the item ids of the vertices of an edge?. I have a ProEdge object, and I want to get the ids of it's 2 vertices so I can init them as ProModelItem(s). I know I can do this if I route it through a ProSelect call (ask the user to select a vertex) and then get the model item with a subsequent ProSelectionModelitemGet call, but I want to do this without any user interaction.Thanks.-Pradeep

Hi Anyone have a recommendation for a LCD Display to run ProE? I have been using a 21" Viewsonic p815 CRT for many many years and can run 85hz 1600x1200. But I am curious if my desk space can be freed up with a LCD display of similar quality, but I havent been able to glean any info from the web regarding such. Anyone using one? Niall

No real definitive conclusion... Hard to believe that my 10 year old3003 is still better than the "new" ones, or at least no one is gushinghow great one of the new ones are. In fact, most opinions on the newones are negative in terms of ergonomics of buttons and theirusefulness. Heck, if all I get for a new one is the "ball", why botherreplacing my 3003; it's "ball" is just fine. In any case, THANKS to youall; here are the replies:

Can someone tell me the easiest FREE method to convert 3D Studio Max files (with ".max" extensions, not ".3ds") into a format importable into WF2? There used to be a FREE utility (STL_UTIL) that allowed for the conversion from Max into Stl, but I can no longer seem to locate a working version of the software. I realize that there are a bunch of purchasable utilities to accomplish this, and if I had access to 3D Max this would be a non-issue as well. Folks,If anyone out there has decent models of a knife, fork, and spoon which they are willing to share it would be greatly appreciated. They can be in any format that I can import into Pro/E. If they are native Pro/E models, WF2 or earlier will work. Guru's, I'm thinking of buying a new spaceball to replace my old, trusty 3003FLXand am wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I demo'd a SpacePilot several months ago, but at the time, was using version 2001,which, it seemed to me at least, the Pilot wasn't set up for. None ofthe presets seemed to work. Also, I don't know if I was that crazyabout the ergonomics. Now we have upgraded to Wildfire 3.0.SO......... What's the general consensus? Which spaceballs are ourfavorites? Lots of suggestions, thanks all.  The most common suggestion was the FX1400, but several others were mentioned.  It looks like the FX 1000 / FX3000 were the mid range & upper end when my entry level FX 500 was new.Looks like the FX1400 is available for under $500 and the older FX3000can be had for $200-$300 on eBay. Two cautions were expressed.  If I need AGP, act fast as they arebecoming scarce.  Check what my power supply is as the higher end cardsare power hogs, 100 watts for some models.  I have no idea on either oneso I've got some digging to do.
