If anyone has used SmartLibrary, I'd be interested in hearing about yourexperiences. Pleased? Disappointed? Is it a big time saver? Anyissues with using it in conjunction with ILINK? Are there any comparablesolutions worth considering? Thanks,AB
Sorry, chaps,I created a great summary, full of useful information, but it exceeded the limit of 50k per post!If you would like a summary, please let me know, I'll send you one direct.Regards,
This is a summary for changing the default detail note text for Wildfire2.0
Thanks to all who responded and to those who are still responding.
Based on the low number of responses, i.e.: none, this issue seems to beunsolvable. _____
Pro-Gurus,I created an extruded cut to "hollow" out the label, which was simply anextruded protrusion before. Problem solved. Thanks to all that replied. Nick
The ptc product calendar still says 3/17/06 for production english ship date for wildfire 3 fcs. The software upgrade availability tool lists F000 as currently available. However i heard on MCAD central it's due out on May 6. I just want to know if its eminent or months away? Thanks.
Hello AnthonyI find a reboot not always possible so what I do is start a second ProINTRALINK client and log in, then ProENGINEER will, most of the time, start-up in the first ProI-client. You still have the reboot if it does not work.Have a good one!Glenn
Guru's, When in sketch mode, I'm adding text to the model. I've been asked by thecustomer to only use Arial Bold as the font. The issue is that this fontdoesn't seem to be available in my list of fonts. Is there any way to addthis font, or import it somehow? Thanks in advance - and rest assured adetailed summary will surely follow. Kevin Anderson
We'd like to start using the automatic bend notes that are availabe in WF2.0. We've modified the standard note callouts so that they contain thewords BEND and UP or DN as required. But, we'd also like to have the bendradius also listed in each note. In the attached picture our "default" isinblue. What we would like is in the red box.Is it possible to have this all done automatically? I realize that it canbe done by adding a bend radius parameter into the note AFTER the notes havebeen added, but ideally we'd like to just pick on Show/Erase notes, and haveit looke like the "red" option.RANT ON:I TRIED TO EMBED THE 8.22KB PICTURE INTO THIS EMAIL, SO THAT YOU COULD SEEIT WITHOUT OPENING IT, AND I COULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE THE EXPLODER ONLY ALLOWS50K TOTAL MESSAGE SIZE. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SOMEONE AT PTCUSER.ORG UPTHAT AMOUNT TO SOMETHING THAT'S REAL WORLD SIZED!!!RANT OFF:Darrin
I got a few responses. Thanks for your help.I put them at the bottom for review. Thanks again.Don
Original Question:Does anyone have a mapkey (for WF2) to force the layer/model tree navigator open? Everything I try, acts as a toggle.Summary:Doesn't look like anyone has solved this directly (or it's not even possible), but the work around mentioned below is clever and will solve my problem.Responses:I've probably put a good two days' work into this, and my final answer is that such a thing does not exist. You'll have to wait until WF3.0 when we get our separate layer UI back. The solution I found to manipulating layers (if that's what you're doing) is that I repeat the mapkey sequence twice because of the toggle. It's stupid and crappy but works.

Pro/I TK users,What are the transaction requirements necessary for using PDMWorkspaceSynchronizeReleaseLevel()?Should no transactions be active?Should a CS transaction (PDMStartTransaction()) be active?Should a LDB transaction (PDMLDBStartTransaction()) be active?I'm thinking of PDMLDBFetch() which requires that no transactions be active.TIA,Bob-- Robert A. The former admin told some people that Windchill/PDMlink would not handle filenames with underscores. for example, scr_hexhd_25-20_1-5lg_sst. So now they want us to change all filenames with underscores to dashes. This seems unnecessary to me. Is there some restriction on characters in file names? Other than the normal non-standard characters? i.e., space,*/\|^()[]{}<>$%&!?"; and :. Dave Haigh

Thanks to all who replied! It looks like Paste-Special is the way to go. Erik _____
Thanks, Vaughn for the fast answer.
Thanks to all who replied. Many replies see but all pointed out twosolutions.1. Modify the shortcut that we use to start pro/E. Right click the shortcutand change the 'Start in' directory to required working directory. Make asmany shortcuts, copy and paste and change each shortcut's name and 'startin' directory to various project directories. This will make sure which evershortcut you choose to start pro/e, your working directory is pre set. However, this solution is not so much practical in cases where you have toswitch working directories very frequently, as is the case with me.2. The second solution goes as using Mapkey. The mapkey should be recordedby using File menu. Navigation menu does not yield a robust mapkey, soshould be avoided. Mapkey can be recorded in two ways: i. One mapkey to set one specific folder. Simply record as many mapkeysas you want by selecting File>set working directory>select or navigate yourrequired directory and say ok. ii. Another way is to create one
Awfully quiet for a Friday! I am trying to copy a group of features. It would be an exact copy, usingall the same references. I would then change a few dimensions in the newfeatures to make them different than the originals. I thought that was whatthe copy-paste thing was for but I can't get it to work like that. It wantsme to specify all new references. Any Ideas? Thanks, Erik
AMD AthlonT 64 X2 4800+ with HyperTransport and Dual Core Technology Anyone using this technology?Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who responded. It seems to be a mixed bag of users that like this approach and ones whothink it's absurd. I'm a member of the latter group. As for the original question... You need to hold down the CTRL key foralmost everything in WF - intersect dims included.Oh well... That's the price of progress 😐BobThe information contained in this electronic mail message is privileged and confidential information, may be subject to the attorney-client privilege and is intended solely for the use of the addressee.
