It has come to my attention that some people are posting job opportunities on the model exploder. This is expressly prohibited in our rules--job postings must be sent to the "network" board only. The address is "-".We appreciate your cooperation. If anyone encounters job postings on any board other than "network", please feel free to forward the postings to me so I can address them.Regards,Rick==Rick SniderExecutive Director, PTC/USER

Guy's,Had a few more here I wanted to share with you.Again, thanks for the responses thus far and I hope we can start stirring upthis kind of conversation more often.Maybe I'll throw something like this out there once a week or so??Hmmmmmm!!!Anyways, here they are, protecting, of course, the innocent! (All except forFrancois Lamy! Sorry Francois!)This was posed in one of the emails:
ProM Users:I just used the ProM Buckling analysis module and have some questions. To my understanding, a typical buckling study first involves a typicalstatic analysis. From this, a buckling analysis can be performed using andbased on the original static analysis. This all seemed to go well.Does anyone have answers to the following questions on this topic:?1. The B.L.F. (buckling load factor) is the only relevant data derived fromthis study and is indicative of the magnification factor of the P(critical)required to push the model to the critical deformation producing buckling?2. The von mises stresses and deformation data produced from the bucklingstudy is not accurate.3. The higher the B.L.F factor the buckling study produces, the less proneto buckling your model will be. In other words, a higher B.L.F. is betterif your intent is to avoid buckling?Any light anyone can shed on this topic would be greatly appreciated.Greg SaiterABB Inc.Columbus, Oh
I seem to get thru here but not in Manuf and network... went the exploderpage and entered the area that said it would set everything across thedifferent forums I have chosen... so far it bounces back in everything butmodel??

Now this is what I'm talking about! Some great contributions from you guys! Anyone else think a PHBB (bulletinboard) would be a great fix to this kind of topic discussion??? (HINT,HINT!!!)I wanted to get this out there for some of the responses that I got back.I'll repost if I get any more.Thank you to those of you who did respond!Aaron Spicer
One of the posts we paid a PTC consultant to generate is outputting an "R"code for a retract distance in the deep drill cycle. N35G83X9.9235Y.2535Z.6354Z.07R.1F4. The controller doesn't support it and I cant figure out where it comes fromI am able to make most of the tweaks the programmers require, but I cannotfor the life of me figure out where this "R" is coming from. Thanks if you have a clue to spare, I need one.
