Hi, Could you please let me know whether Axeda platform supports integration with Active Directory? If yes what kind of support is available?1. Can I use Active directory to authenticate and authorize user?2. Can I use the roles from Active directory to grant access to users?3. Do we have documentation around integration with AD/LDAP?
Good morning,We've recently migrated from ProductView to PTC CreoView MCAD, but our database still uses ProductView *.ed file format. PTC CreoView however always crashes when I try to export a component to a neutral format like *.stp. The problem shows up only when using *.ed files. Does anyone know the solution?Best regards,Lucas Silveira

How do I export a flat (2D) part consisting of complex curves (splines) out of Pro/E Wildfire 3 or Creo 2 that a laser cutter can in Aluminum? My sheet metal fabricator is complaining that the files I send suffer from one or more of these problems:overlapping endsopen endsdouble linesand sometimes the shape itself whacks out (imagine a fish looking like something MC Escher would draw)I have tried both Wildfire 3 and Creo 2. Creating a drawing and exporting both DXF and IGES. I have tried filtering the files through Autocad LT and Autocad 14. All with the same baffling results.Wildfire 3 produces thousands of short spline segments (about .007 long) and/or or the shape loses its shape, and/or has double lines (the same path twice right on top of the other)Creo 2 does a much better job outputting less segments, but the ends of different segments are not joined.I have tried this with the part as a 3D model and as a Sheet Metal part, creating a drawing and exporting. I believe the double pat

Does anyone know how to change the geo resolution when importing a Solidworks file into Creo Direct?
Hi All,My colleague sent me a .pptx file in which it contains the step file.If I open it directly then it opens, but I want to save that file in my computer. How can I do it? I have tried by renaming it to .Zip file and then extracting it, but no useYogesh
Has anyone tried using the Windchill STEP Connector for PLCS (Product Life Cycle Support), AP239? We installed it, but can't figure out how to configure it per the Windchill Customization Guide 10.2 M020, or how to use it.http://www.ptc.com/view?im_dbkey=161141
I am using CREO/Elements 5.0 and I would like to save a pro/ENGINEER part or assembly file in a format that will allow me to send it to suppliers (who are using PTC Creo View Express 3.0) who will be able to see the solid model as well as the annotations and other PMI. I have tried saving my part file in the PVZ format, but only one view is visible in Creo View Express. The reason why I would like to have multiple views is that I would like to use multiple Combination Views with different dimensions and GD&T to avoid having a single view with too much PMI. According to the Creo View comparison chart document (http://www.ptc.com/WCMS/files/129373/en/6813_Creo_View_Chart4_TS_EN.pdf), this functionality should be available (“Display Combination or View States from Creo Parametric or Capture States from CATIA V5”).
My apologies if this is not the correct forum to seak this information. We have recently moved from old Sun Ultra 10's to Windows 7 and need CADDS to take care of legacy data going back 30 years on an active project. I've encountered numerous problems with getting CADDS 5 rev 16 (currently on 16.1 M040) to work on Windows and although I can get CADDS to work most of the time, it seems unstable and the slightest hiccup can stop it. PTC Tech Support has only been able to help with about half the problems. I have found some solutions myself after much trial and error. I've opening so many cases over the last few months, I'm almost feeling that they are ignoring me.I am looking at connecting with anyone who is activily using CADDS 5 on Windows or at least has a fair amount of experience who may have already gone through the process. Maybe recommendations on who to contact, companies who still use CADDS, etc. I've done searches on the PTC Community for anything CADDS and the only area that p

Does anyone know of a way of exporting models to SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor that would include parametric features? Standard formats like .STEP create only a "dumb" model. There are some 3rd party tools that help (i.e. FeatureWorks), but are not reliable.

Is there an easier way to export Solidworks parts and assemblies from Windchill other than using packages? It seems to be a very long and drawn out process to get the files sent to a vendor? Thanks in advance.Ian WexlerConfiguration ManagerDigital Signal Corporation
Im new to 3d drawings, I have a solidworks IGS file which I can open in wildfire 4 but, when I try to then change to a DWG it wont let me. Is this because of dimensions not on the IGS file?I appreciate any help on this matter
If you open a native Pro/E file in Creo View Express, the file shows up with all the construction and hidden surfaces visible. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn these features off. Is anyone familiar with this and is there a fix for viewing native Pro/E files? Thanks
I'm trying to set up a procedure for exporting a pcb assembly from ProE for importing into Mentor PADS. I can get everything to show in the .emn file including the .PLACEMENT info, but the problem is that when PADS tries to import it, the names don't match up and it doesn't import the part location info. PADS identifies a part using a "decal name" (like ABC123) and a "part name" (like XYZ098), so when it exports an .emn the result is:.PLACEMENTABC123 XYZ098 J1 (reference designator)x-pos y-pos z-pos rotation top/bottom place/unplace.END_PLACEMENTHowever when ProE exports the .emn the file is:.PLACEMENTXYZ098 XYZ098 NOREFDESx-pos y-pos z-pos rotation top/bottom place/unplace.END_PLACEMENTI've tried all sorts of things under the part's parameters to try and get ABC123 to show up in the .emn export but no luck.Does anyone know how to get this to work? Or where the .emn gets the placement info from?I manually updated the .emn file to put ABC123 into the correct spot but PADS rejected it as
After exporting a cgm several entities appear in grayscale rather then black when viewing in Corel X5 (customer's viewer). Random versions and profiles selected within the export preference of Abortext ISOdraw 7.1 had the similar results. However, a local install of Corel X5 did not replicate the same issue. Is there a version & profile match which forces all cgm viewers to display all black no grayscale? Or I,m open for other suggestions.

Hi.I have read on several websites that the mathcad xml (used in the xmcd files) is a publicly available specification (done by ptc of course), but I cannot find the specification anywhere. Any help?I am making a parser for the xmcd files - of course I could reverse-engineer the format, but that will take a lot of time.
Greetings all,I would like to find a 3D export format that will maintain the light and scene information from Creo/Elements Pro when opened in a free viewer tool such as Creo View Express or Adobe Acrobat 9.I have tried .U3D files which apperently should contain the lighting and scene information but Ive been unable to find a free program to open the file.Does anyone have any ideas of a format that will do this and a free viewing tool to open the format?Any information will help. Thanks!
HiI want to convert a whole assembly into a single part with an export and import of a STEP file. While importing the STEP file it's possible to define "import as a part"... Unfortunately the parts are imported all to the standard coordsys and not to the originally exported coordsys. Is there an config option for that?regardsVito
