Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi all,   I am working on a 2D drawing where I am adding dimensions. (Creo 4.0). Some dimensions, I show using 'Show Model Annotations', and some dimensions I add manually. I now have 2 angular dimensions: one that I added myself, and another that I added using 'Show Model Annotations'. I noticed that I can change the dimension orientation (Inside Angle, Outside Angle, Supplementary Angle 1, ...) only of the dimension that I added manually. On the 'Show Model Annotations' created dimension, the 'Orientation' button is greyed out in the toolbar. Can this be changed, so I can change the orientation of the Annotated dimension also? Or is that fixed?   First screenshot shows the 60° angular dimension that I created myself, with the enabled 'orientation' button.   Second screenshot shows the 150° angular dimension with the orientation button greyed out.   2D Drawing  

Hi,   Anyone know of a Creo Parametric Config.pro setting that will allow Creo to display all file types when opening or when assembling a component in an assembly?Working in a Multi Cad environment and need to assemble other CAD system files to Creo assemblies.   Thanks, Don A

I have a created a large assembly of an industrial air compressor which contains every option we offer on the machine. These options are broken into option classes which are grouped in the model tree (see photo). Every option is part of a Simplified Rep I created called EMPTY and set to EXCLUDE.     If I expand each option class one at a time, select one option from each, and set it to MASTER REP to build a specific machine, can I save these MASTER REP options only as a standalone file that does not reference the original assembly in any way? I know I can Copy As External but that still references the original assembly. I know this was possible in earlier versions of Pro/E.  

Here is my case, Assmbly model "mode A" public features: Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ ... And B use copy geometry  fucntion get the feature  Ⅰ; And C use copy geometry  fucntion get the feature  Ⅱ; ... etc.   Its worked well, but when new project coming, The only difference is we need change the featureⅠ to  feature α, others need to keep same. But when I try to save as the "mode A " to "mode AA", Neither core or Windchill alllowed me to re-use model C or others. They force me to make new parts at all.   For drawings and BOM, maybe its ok, but  this is a disaster for the warehousing system. I am new for croe and windchill, So I am not sure I used the right way to do the top down design.   Do you have any sugestion, thank you!

one of my tasks is to build assemblies of various customer orders. we have a big folder with many subassemblies in and I am given a list in excel of which sub-assemblies are needed for the specific order, at the moment I am going through and manually assembling each one into the main assembly. so I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have creo automatically do it, taking the list from excel. any help would be much appreciated.  

Is it possible to assemble parts in a simplified rep. as inactive? I'm creating an assembly that has thousands of parts and they all get assembled at default location. Right now I have to assemble each part and then after I've done a handful I go into the simp. rep. options and change them to inactive. I'd like to assemble each part as inactive so I can skip the extra step. Anybody know if this is possible?

Hi all,   In the drawing module, I have a 2D drawing of a model. With 'Show Model Annotations' I had shown all the hole axis/axes in multiple views. Now I changed the 'Visible Area' of a view from 'Full View' to 'Broken View'. Now I am left with many axes that are still visible. (see screenshot). I want to remove the axes that are positioned outside of the model (red ellipse in the screenshot). I would like to remove/erase the axes that I don't need by selecting them all at once by dragging a rectangle over them to select. But this does not seem possible (or I have not found a way..).   I simply cannot get any of the axis checkboxes back in the 'Show Model Annotations' window. Which ever view I select. The only way to select the axis to erase them, seems to be to individually select them on the drawing! Or, to select them (also individually) in the Drawing Tree ... Is there any way to 'mass select' all the axes to erase them? Ideally by dragging a rectangle over them....? &nb

Designed a motor base with a spinning shaft using a cylinder mate. In this assembly the shaft spins and the body doesn't . No issue. When I add this motor assembly to another assembly the shaft is now locked and the body of the motor spins. Issue. Any ideas on this one?

Hello everyone,   I'm having a problem.   I have an assembly where I have put a few guide pillars. The first one by constraint to an axis system, and the following by pattern.   Now I want to create the hole for the clamps of the guide pillar. The first clamp was also constrained for position, and the followings, where patterned as well.     Now, for create the hole in the plate, to fix the clamp, I made a reference, to first clamp, of the first guide pillar   Now when I create the reference pattern, only the pattern of the guide pillars is made.     The pattern of the clamps isn't created...   So my question is, how to create the holes of all clamps, without creating one by one. And keeping in mind that later on the design i might change the number of clamps, from 2 to 4 for example. And the pattern be recognized and properly updated.   Any idea? what I'm missing.      

Hello Everyone,   I have a very large assembly where I am showing Harnesses to installed. Very busy assembly. The typical method of showing an installation drawing for piping or cabling is to show the Harness as dark solid lines and the rest of the assembly as light phantom lines.  The phantom lines are phantomfont and color secondary highlight. The only way we have figured out to have the phantom lines to show up in the PDF and print as light grey is to snapshot the view as draft entities. The draft entities show up as light grey.  I do not like the idea of non-parametric views. It's also a long process someone has developed. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Hello everyone, I need help. If I set "min_baloon_radius" to 0 and "max_baloon_radius" to 0 i get the automatic bubble sizing on the text,but this only works on the system default "simple" bubble, it doesn't work for custom bubbles. So can you tell me how I can get a custom bubble that changes its size dynamically in reference to the textcontained? Thank you and good day.P.S. I use Creo 2.0 and Creo 8.0.  

I am using Creo Parametric 2.0 M250ねじのアセンブリの簡素化のために、インターフェイスフィーチャを用いておりますが、アセンブリ時のデータ読み込みに非常に時間がかかります。（１つのねじモデルの読み込みに数分。悪い時には数十分）インターフェイスフィーチャを削除もしくは抑制すると、スムーズに読み込まれます。また、アセンブリ先のモデルが大規模になればなるほど顕著にこの傾向がみられるように思います。本現象を回避する方法があればご教示願います。Here are the errors that I faced 時間がかかるだけなので、エラーは表示されておりません。

I have recently set open_simplified_rep_by_default yes to allow selection of representation when opening assemblies. It seems odd that there is no similar config option to enable this functionality for parts. It's not great that they always open in Master rep Has anyone come across a fix for this? Alternatively, how do I submit an enhancement request? Cheers

Creo 4 M070   Is it possible to get the name of the assembly of the component inside the recursive bom region table in a drawing?   I ask this for an idea to manage recursive tables: if the assembly name contains the main assembly name, show it in the table, if not, filter it out. This way, if I add an subassembly containing the name of the main assembly, this will be shown as recursive, else as flat. I know that this can be done manually, but I want to prevent human errors.   For example: Assembly "Assy1.asm" contains "Assy1_1.asm" and "Assy2.asm" Assembly "Assy1_1.asm" contains "Part1.prt" and "Part2.prt" Assembly "Assy2.asm" contains "Part3.prt" and "Part4.prt" => in the table : Part1.prt, Part2.prt and Assy2.asm  

Hi Guys,   Is it possible to make certain settings within a button default?   For example. Solidify. I want this to always default to Remove material when i click on it. Is this possible.   There are many other buttons that i would like to set certain options as a default too.      I know i could make a map key, but was wondering if there was another way to specify default settings within an function.   Thanks Jay   I'm in Creo7.0.2.0  if this matters.

Hi.   I just got news from PTC, that they are STOPPING support for USB adapter (dongle) licensing from versions Creo 7.0.6.0 and Creo 8.0.0.0 forward. This is true for floating and also locked licenses. Links on PTC eSupport:  https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS349044 https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS348204   I think that this is totally unacceptable. PTC commnuity should know about this and I hope that PTC will hear how many customers this affects.   Also what bothers me is, that I had to open support case to learn about this.This should be written on the first page of eSupport. Or at least this should be the first thing that Jim Heppelmann tells us in his Liveworx 2021 presentation ("Digital Pyshical transformation... And by the way, we are canceling support for USB dongles").😀   Kind regards, Domen          

I can add a note and dimensions in the component, and at first it was showing up in the BOM, but now it disappeared. I can't add a balloon either, but the component it's still showing up in the drawing.   I really don't know what to do to fix it.   Thank you.

Hi There,   In flexible modeling you can select a single surface and then with a single button propagate the selection to all tangent surfaces.    This is exactly what I want to do but in the normal modeling environment. I have a lot of sheetmetal parts and for each of them I run a macro that takes my manually selected surfaces then does a copy and paste of the quilt into a different part followed by a few other operations..   Currently, I select all the tangent surfaces of a part manually using the control key and then start my macro. Is there any way to automatically select all tangent surfaces in the normal modeling environment just as you can in the flexible modeling environment?    Thanks Karl
