Wondering if anyone else has seen a similar issue to this and knows the cause.An engineer shared a complex model with me today and said that when he saved out a STEP file, the STEP was empty. I was able to reproduce the same behavior on my machine. Not only for STEP files, but also for IGES and parasolid as well. For all of these, the "save as" runs instantly, and creates an file with no geometry in it.  I did find a workaround. We're using Creo 7.0.2.0, so I was able to save the single body in the model to a new part file. In that part file, I was able to save out a STEP file. Of note, the STEP file did have an error in the geometry, but at least it saved something out.  Any ideas as to why the original file couldn't be saved out, but a new part with essentially a copy geometry of the original part's body was able to?

I am having issues with Creo crashing when trying to add views to a drawing for sheet metal parts. I am able to initially add both a flat state and generic drawing view. However at some point after adding both view types, and trying to add another view to detail, I get a warning message (Error(s) in XXXXX\prodetail.dtl. See datafile.ers) and Creo will crash if I try to place the view. Does anyone know where the datafile.ers is saved, or how to find the setting in the config file causing the issue? I have searched my "start in" location, program files, and everywhere else I could think of.  

This is more of a suggestion than a question! PTC Crew....  My idea is to have a delete button at the edit bar of any feature. This idea came to mind because many in times whenever I'm editing a feature and I realize that it is no longer needed I am forced to click at least 4 times to actually delete it. And with the Delete button it would require just 2 clicks.  

Hi Everyone,   I just installed CREO Elements Direct Modeling Express 8.0 and I'm running it on Windows 10 Home Version 21H1.  My laptop has the following specs:   Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz RAM: 16GB Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX2070   When I launch the program it stalls out and never loads.  I have launch the program in verbose mode.  The launch process stalls at initializing base_start.    Anybody have this problem and have found a work around?      

Hello,does anyone know if it is possible to configure the Direct Manager Webserver to use https? We already know how to configure the ModelManager webservices to do that. But we also use the old Direct Manager webserver for 2D drawings and conversion of them to other formats (PDF, DXF) for the purchasing process. Regards, Thomas

it should be possible to show different color for identify left-hand/right-hand thread. Otherwise, the manufacturing process could be wrong.

First af all, as far as last friday Creo Drafting was normally working... Now it start normally but at the firsth command you give it freezes. Nothing to do... only Windows task manager --> End Task. This is already happend on other machine and the only solution we found it has been to format the machine Someone has some idea to solve this problem?

Is there a way to remove the gap, the space between dimension value and text you manually typed in a dimension?  we have our dimensions setup as dual with the metric values in brackets.i would like my dimension to look like this:    14 X .50 DEEP,    not this   .....14                      x .50 DEEP                                                                       [355.6]                                      [355.6]

This function can then be managed or not by a PLM. ModelManager manages PartLibrary. But, whatever the level of access right of the user, the Partlibrary part can not be modified at all (except bypassing ModelManager, which is very delicate). This aspect is the philosophy adopted by PTC. I did not find any litterature about the reason of this philosophy. Anyway, that was a big problem for me when I had to change minor things of the part (name, material, color, weight, geometry, ...). Since Creo Drawings don't have a "Spell Check" function, I read somewhere that you can set one up in Model Check. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, does anyone know how?

I am trying to develop a drawing in which all annotations on all sheets are followed with the suffix "in". Is there a way of doing this without manually entering "in" into each annotation? Thank you,DAAAAA

Does somebody know what it means if there is a clock symbol in front of a note?When there is a clock symbol in front of a dimension or annotation this means it's missing a reference, but this note doesn't have a reference (placed flat to screen).

I am having non-solidified piping showing up in my section cut of my drawing that is outside of the section view. If I edit the view definition and change the Pipe and insulation display drop down to centerline it removes all of the floating pipe that isn't solidified yet. When I change it back to default it all comes back.

I see wtpub in my config.pro before all my directory locations. What are it and its use? Where did we get this one?exp: drawing_setup file wtpub://windchill/Libraries/CAD/Standards......etc..  Thank YouKumar

The license period used by the company is too short. I think it's about a week.Is there a way to extend the period?

This is not exactly a CAD question, rather standards-related. Have anyone experienced breaking down drawing general notes, by adding another category of notes just for the purpose of listing notes regarding inspected dimensions? I looked in DRM and couldn't find anything pro or against it.

  I want to open the corresponding drawing in Annotation when I click the viewset from the Model structure . It is troublesome because the model and drawing cannot be loaded as a set from Windchill.  

Hello,   I'be been using Creo Elements Direct modeling and Drafting for few years and just updated to version 19.00. I see some improvements, but Drafting still lacks some of the features that might be very handy in my opinion. One of those features is an ability to lock certain parts in the part browser so you could still see the geometry, but couldnt accidently move the part which is possible now if you're working at the top level. It is kind of dangerous as well because you may accidently drag one part (layer) for just a tiny bit and never see it and it may be critical. In other 2D cad apps there is an option to lock the layer so user cannot select it, move it, etc. Would be nice to see such a functionality in Drafting.   Another small, but annoying thing is a diameter dimension. Why is it so hard to make Drafting adding a diameter symbol to it automatically? It does it with the radius...   Thanks. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Tea

All,   On 6.0.   I would like to create a part and drawing using driving/show ordinate dimensions. I prefer to not use create dimensions.   I am thinking the model needs to be set up as ordinate in order to show in the drawing.   How do I set this all up?   I am not seeing in config files.   Wayne

Greetings,   I am on Creo 6.   I have 128 sheets in my drawing. I attempt to create a pdf and it freezes. There are some sheets with graphics, but most are boms.   Any tips on getting this to work - or am I at the limitations of Creo?   Thanks, WayneF
