I'm building a Jlink app. I need that, the Jlink app run a specific macro in the middle of my code. First I need to select a part to show a layer of the selected part. It's working fine! Then I need to run a macro, doing the session.RunMacro function. And it also works, then after this, i need to continue my code, and do some other actions. But don't understand why, but all of the jlink actions are running in sequence, the session.RunMacro is ignored, and executed, only at the end of my code! I would need this to be executed when I need to be executed.   Any idea?

There is a method CopyFileToWS where one can specify a model to which a file will be copied as attachement (secondary content). What is a correct way to execute opposite action - to download a secondary content from a model? I can't see any notice in documentation / examples. The method CopyFileFromWS takes a file path, but what is a correct path format to a secondary content file? Or is there another function to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,   Using Creo 7.0.2.0 and EMX 13.    When I create a moldbase using EMX, and accept it, It creates a Style State VIS001, which is always wire frame. This is driving me nuts.    Anyone know how to stop this from happening?   I don't want any new style states created.    Creo 3 and EMX 9 did not do this at all.    Thanks, Jay

I'm trying to create my own Creo Assembly Interference menu because of the gaps in the Creo Global Interference Analysis - Exclude Skeletons and Other Improvements. I've got it working pretty well except when the user rotates the model the highlighted models and/or interference will not stay highlighted when the user rotates or zooms the 3D Creo model. The out of the box Creo Interference Analysis is able keep things highlighted while moving the 3D model.   For the VB API, is there a way to keep the models/interferences highlighted while the user moves the model?   Here's the VB example PTC provides: 'Analyzing Interference'======================================================================'Function : showInterferences'Purpose : This function finds the interference in an assembly, ' highlights the interfering surfaces, and calculates ' the interference volume. Hi, I'm working on an Excel VBA tool that imports a lot of pvz files into Creo and saves them as .asm's. Works like a charm when I do this by hand (obviously, these are not real CAD models but facet geometry). If I run the code below, I get a Type Mismatch error on te line starting with Set Model = session.ImportNewModel... The weird thing is Creo actually imports the pvz, because if I do File > Open > In Session, I can see and open my example asm (testjaap.asm). Does anyone know how I can get the model opened?? I tried all kinds of things, but nothing works so far... Hi guys.   We have some old mapkeys, and I am trying to update/ optimize them.   I've made a ton of map keys with no problems, but for some reason I cannot get this to work.    I want to make a map key that creates a datum point, then open up a UDF.  The map key runs the datum point, but does not open the UDF.  Does it need a pause somewhere?   If i make 2 seperate mapkeys, each one will work indipendantly, but i want them in one mapkey. I know I can have a mapkey call up mulitple mapkeys, but i'd like to get this to work without making a bunch of individual mapkeys. Hi   We want to know which section is used in Flange (I, Arc, S , Open Etc...) using toolkit... Could not find any direct API for same. So , thought of using element tree. Is there any element which stores this predefined shape name for flange feature element tree?    Created a flange feature with I section, extracted element tree in XML. Modified flange as S section and extracted again element tree... Both the XML files are same so getting confused on how to identify which element is storing this information. If no element is there for this, is there any possibility to decide on this information?

I want part numbers for two contacting surfaces of any weld in table format.Means if we use x1 surface of part1 and x2 of part2 for weld than i want that data in table format with the weld parts numbers

We want to know a way to map cross section edges which are created internally by Creo with the original model edges so that we can co-relate attachment information of dimensions attached to such internal edges in Creo through Toolkit.   in other words, dimensions in drawing is attached to internal edges of cross section. So, we are not able to identify which feature's dimension it is.... Is there a way to map cross section edges and feature edges?   There is no direct API for this, but we need to have this mapping. Just wanted to know is there any mapping by some work around is possible on this?

Hi there,   I have a 3D - note in a model and I want to read the text from it via web.link. Unfortunately, ptc's weblink documentation is not very helpful.

Hello   We are looking for to have all the user defined simp rep for an assembly. For this purpose, we used API ProSolidSimprepVisit() to collect all sim rep and using API ProSimprepTypeGet() to filter concerned rep with PRO_SIMPREP_USER_DEFINED.   We are facing issue and could observe that  "DEFAULT REP" is listed as user defined rep.... Could anyone help on this as API we are using is not helping us due to default rep suggested as user defined rep.   p.s. : default rep is only rep which has negative id out of all the rep we are getting post filteration.

Hi   I need to have the flat state placed flat on the drawing, for the lasercutter. Is there a way to do this? I'm thinking, create a saved orientation and use this on the drawing. I doesn't matter how the part is oriented, just it is flat.   Allan

Hi, I am trying to work with CREO Object Toolkit Java, there are few sample apps such as "InstallTest" and a User Guide, I followed the User Guide but still unable to run java apps, I get this error when starting any auxiliary application, "Startup of application failed".  My version is 7.0. Hello all   We have Creo 4.0 M130 and working on toolkit side.   I am aware that direct api which visits / collects all items in simp rep for assembly is not visiting all the items.... Items must be set as Either master or Exclude (only these two options) for api to work perfectly...   Concern is that designers set derived status as well for components of assembly for simp rep.... In this case , we obviously miss status of items which must be ignored or considered as item of simp rep.... Is there a way to achieve all the items which are active for a simp rep even though it might be set as excluded or master rep or derive status?   Feel free to ask for clarification if question is not clear.. thanks in advance...!    

Hi, I have Logitech MX Master 3 mouse which in addition to 3 standard buttons (2 clicks and scroll) also has 3 macro buttons and roller (the other scroll). I'd like to assign these hotkeys to specific Creo features but the most important for me is to assign particular hotkey to the Creo "Windows" feature (in order to navigate between Creo tabs by mouse click). Is it possible to achieve this in Creo Parametric 6.0? Thank you in advance for each answer!

Hello All,   I would like to create automation of fasteners and bolts according to holes IFX still not search a holes automatically we need to select each axis or plane. IFX customization is not possible ,but i am thinking with the use of VBi scripts the things we can handle so that through a specific UDF goal can be achievable. or  anyone help me to develop IFX type of script , can we change the user interface of IFX . Can you share your VBi scripts or knowledge to develop that UDF.

I will post here my first nice exercise with Creo Parametric. My approach is doing it in an OOP fashion so I am using C++ wrapping things in classes. Here is a video of my process so far. Not bad but I seek perfection in my creations so its not quite there yet. For this specific work I am allowed to publish the code. So I will do it when its ready under an MIT license, meaning I will allow companies to use my code for free without restrictions. Has anyone played with Pro2dPolylinedef? I wanted to create a closed polyline loop and create a nice extrusion out of it. It did indeed work but when I tried to grab the polyline for later processing according to the dialog value from the section plane with the correct id it sadly returns me just a line, type 2 instead of type 7. I have tried with malloc and using the ProArrays. Nothing, it refuses to return me a polyline type. From the code I provide am I doing something wrong? I am a new guy in ProToolkit programming but the code seems logical.
