In the attached Prime worksheet is it possible to create a function that can search the second row of the matrix for the a number closest but higher than ZxREQ while also making sure that it's corresponding value in the first row is between dmax and din? The issue I'm having is how do you search in a particular row in a matrix?
If we have an arbitrary vector (V) like the one shown. Using Mathcad we want to order data from lowest to highest like the one shown on right. How would we do that?image is attached
We want to define a function that gives the valuesf (a) = 2a when a is between 0 and 5 f (a) = 10 when a is between 5 and 10 f (a) = 0 all other timesand then plot the function with that range −5 < a < 15I have tried it but my plot just don't seem right look at the attachment. can you show me how to do it in MATHCAD
I wrote pseudocode but don't know how to write it in MacthcadCan you guys show me how would you write this in MATHCAD?IF a>0 THENtol = 10^-5x=a/2DO y=(x+a/x)/2 e=(y-x)/y x=y IF e<tol EXITEND DOSquareRoot=xELSESquareRoot=0END IF
I have a problem with my solve blocks in both Prime 2.0 and 15 that I was hoping someone might know how to solve.I was trying to follow this nice example (example on left, my work on right), but as you can see, once I get to the givens, the expression gets evaluated on the right side before I have a chance to enter the value it's supposed to equal. I couldn't find this mentioned in any of the solve block tutorials (for either prime 2.0 or 15). Does anyone have a suggestion to how to fix this?
What's the problem here please?ThanksJoe
I am trying to learn to make 3D plots and got stuck immediately on a simple example - see attached worksheet. Can someone help me get started? More generally, is there a better resource than the MC quicksheet, which I found to be minimally helpful? Thanks.
I have problem populating the values from embedded excel (office 365) into Mathcad 15.0 sheet? I am running Windows 8 on my machine.Does anyone else have similar issues? The same mathcad sheet works fine on other computers in our office which does not have windows 8 installed.Let me know if anyone else know the solution.Regards,
Hi Folks,Say I am using x as a variable in a sheet and I then, farther down on the sheet, want to plot some function f(x) vs. x. How do I initialize x so I'll actually get a range of x values?I know the easy way to do it is to just use some other dummy variable and plot, say, f(xx) vs. xx. However, I vaguely remember there being a way to initialize x.Can anyone remind me how to do this? Thanks for your help.
Hello All,Could you please briefly explain about the constraint "weight" factor for the Minerr routine? How does it work and how it can be defiend?Thank you.
The worksheet gives the calculations of GSM traffic capacities and the number of the BTS's, BSC's and MSC's required for the system. The calculations given, through an example, in a simplified manner which can be understood even by non-technical persons. The well known calculations of Link budget, statistics of received signal effected by slow/fast fadings and interference has been excluded for simplicity. Text books are mentioned in the references to cover such calculations.
Release dates for Mathcad Prime 3.1 F000 and Mathcad 15 M040 changed. Quarter 1 (of 2015 year) - for Prime 3.1 and for a MC15 M040 is quarter 2 (same 2015 year) now.
can anyone please help me with tutorial video or pdf on designing of spur gear using relation and in mm.
I am trying to do something similar to the following:y(x):=2x*(5+2)however with more complex variables and in terms of x, so ideally I'd like the answer in this example to show: y(x)=14xIs there a way to do this in Mathcad? It seems like something with symbolically solving might work, but I still want the result assigned to another variable in terms of x.Any help would be appreciated!
The animation for this document from Katarina Pisacic http://communities.ptc.com/docs/DOC-6622 "This Mathcad sheet calculates components of velocity and acceleration in polar coordinate system, and some transformations to cartesian coordinate system. Combined with excel component can be used to generate homeworks for students, complete with solution." Kinematic without animation is not kinematic! Unable to play video. Please try again later.(view in My Videos)
Hello all,Can someone help figure out why this doesn't work? I tried removing the units...Thanks in advance!
I want to input that and solve for Y. None of the equal signs seems to work. Any help?ThanksJoe
Hello all,i try to customise the worksheet unit , to get the final result unit in Mpa(megapascal)i tried it by menu- Tools / worksheet options / unit sytem / default unit-cutom unit / pressure megapascaleven though i have customised the worksheet unit system . i am not able to get the final result in Mpaplease see the attached mathcad file and pic
These are theoretical calculations for ammonia removal by air stripping. The resulting curves are then compared to actual operating data from a new type of ammonia stripping tower at a refinery.
Hello everybody. How can I define constraints for the genfit routine? in the attached program, there is "genfit" routine inside the function f(inp). Where should I define the constraint b1>0, b2>0 etc. ?Thank you in advance
Dear Experts,I hope i'm in the right room/community for seeking this help.Currently i'm working on a calculation which involves in a range (both input and output) and the range is quite large for example from 0m to 35000m.I have a problem in determining the minimum and maximum value within this range.Appreciate if someone could help me out on this.attached is an extract from my actual calculation sheet as the iteration process do takes time.so basically the LspanFE (x) is what i have caluclated (i just extracted it). As said x is from 0m, 10m ..35000m.Look forward to hear from you guys soon.Regards-Akmal-
Hello All,In the attached program, I have calculated root mean square of the residual. Could anybody check the procedure and see if I am doing this in the correct way please?Thank you in advance.
I'm testing, in this days, the Prime 3 and I see that, in the plot feature, there isn't the possibility to equalize the scales between the axes.I hope this functionality will be insert in the 3.1 version.Plotting is one of the most important things that, in my case, an engineer have to do; I think the development team must improve this thing, even thinking that you can already do this in MC 15...Regards
I teach university classes that require lots of calculations. I make sure to introduce the students to Mathcad, but I get lots of questions about Mathcad 15 vs. Mathcad Prime 3.0. The university computer system doesn't have Prime 3.0, so our default is MCAD 15. I tell them that either program will work and they can use whichever one they like. They almost never choose Prime 3.0, though that might be because they see MCAD 15 in class. Two students this semester out of 85 have gone for Prime 3.0.I've had to explain to them that they need to buy Prime 3.0 in order to downgrade to MCAD 15. I use the analogy that it's kind of like having to buy Windows 8 in order to downgrade to Windows 7. It's not a great way to start the conversation about why using Mathcad is a good thing. Here's my choice: I can try to introduce them to Prime 3.0 on the assumption that it's what will be available in the future or I can stick with MCAD 15 because it's by far the most popular of the two right now.My questi
Hello, I'm relatively new to PTC MathCAD, and i haven't found a lot of resources on line - so admittedly I’m struggling a little bit.Below is an example of an issue I’m having with the software not returning a matrix. When I solve for σc, the answer is returned as a matrix. When I solvefor σ, it give me a single value. Based on my observations, it appears the software is choking when it encounters the “sec” function. Both share the same matrix “a” values.I’m wondering if anyone has any solutions for this… of if you can tell me what I’m doing wrong.
