These are theoretical calculations for ammonia removal by air stripping. The resulting curves are then compared to actual operating data from a new type of ammonia stripping tower at a refinery.
Hello everybody. How can I define constraints for the genfit routine? in the attached program, there is "genfit" routine inside the function f(inp). Where should I define the constraint b1>0, b2>0 etc. ?Thank you in advance
Dear Experts,I hope i'm in the right room/community for seeking this help.Currently i'm working on a calculation which involves in a range (both input and output) and the range is quite large for example from 0m to 35000m.I have a problem in determining the minimum and maximum value within this range.Appreciate if someone could help me out on this.attached is an extract from my actual calculation sheet as the iteration process do takes time.so basically the LspanFE (x) is what i have caluclated (i just extracted it). As said x is from 0m, 10m ..35000m.Look forward to hear from you guys soon.Regards-Akmal-
Hello All,In the attached program, I have calculated root mean square of the residual. Could anybody check the procedure and see if I am doing this in the correct way please?Thank you in advance.
I'm testing, in this days, the Prime 3 and I see that, in the plot feature, there isn't the possibility to equalize the scales between the axes.I hope this functionality will be insert in the 3.1 version.Plotting is one of the most important things that, in my case, an engineer have to do; I think the development team must improve this thing, even thinking that you can already do this in MC 15...Regards
I teach university classes that require lots of calculations. I make sure to introduce the students to Mathcad, but I get lots of questions about Mathcad 15 vs. Mathcad Prime 3.0. The university computer system doesn't have Prime 3.0, so our default is MCAD 15. I tell them that either program will work and they can use whichever one they like. They almost never choose Prime 3.0, though that might be because they see MCAD 15 in class. Two students this semester out of 85 have gone for Prime 3.0.I've had to explain to them that they need to buy Prime 3.0 in order to downgrade to MCAD 15. I use the analogy that it's kind of like having to buy Windows 8 in order to downgrade to Windows 7. It's not a great way to start the conversation about why using Mathcad is a good thing. Here's my choice: I can try to introduce them to Prime 3.0 on the assumption that it's what will be available in the future or I can stick with MCAD 15 because it's by far the most popular of the two right now.My questi
Hello, I'm relatively new to PTC MathCAD, and i haven't found a lot of resources on line - so admittedly I’m struggling a little bit.Below is an example of an issue I’m having with the software not returning a matrix. When I solve for σc, the answer is returned as a matrix. When I solvefor σ, it give me a single value. Based on my observations, it appears the software is choking when it encounters the “sec” function. Both share the same matrix “a” values.I’m wondering if anyone has any solutions for this… of if you can tell me what I’m doing wrong.
This is example of trapezoidal rule usage. It may not be the best solution but for plotting graphs is much faster than using symbolics.Labels and headings are in Croatian.
Text is in Croatian, example from Meriam, J. L.; Kraige, L. G.: Engineering Mechanics Volume 2 Dynamics.
In this paper, an example problem was used to demonstrate the application of Mathcad in solving the tasks ofthe dynamics of rigid bodies. The task was to determine angular acceleration for a given moment and the moment valueat minimum acceleration, which makes this problem an optimization problem. Classical analytical solution of theproblem is obtained using the D'Alembert principle. Mathcad code is given by which the solution is obtained.Functional dependence of angular acceleration to frictional moment is determined and final solution is calculated bythe minimization function. Comparison of optimization solutions to classical solution confirmed the effectiveness of thismethod of problem solving. For this procedure Mathcad symbolic functions were used.
The mechanisms are systems of moving parts that perform some function. One of their main advantages is converting the input forces and movements into a desired set of output forces and movements. The mechanism movement simulation is described in this paper. The solution includes calculation of velocities, accelerations and overall performance analysis. Numerical simulation of model mechanism was performed in the software package SAM, Mathcad and graphical solution was made in SolidWorks. The velocities optimal for the drive element and the initial position of mechanism were given for initial conditions. All velocities and accelerations of mechanism points in this position were calculated. Results of computer simulation were compared with the results obtained by vector method. By comparison of the results it was found that the deviations were small, therefore it was concluded that the simulation was successfully performed.
Hello alli am using mathcad 15while defining a variable, mathcad shows an error for a unit less numerical factor Error "This value has units:Unitless, but must have units:Length."in the same way i have used unit less numerical factor it doesn't shows any errori am confused , anyone please help me outregardsBalaji
Anyone knows if Mathcad 15 M040 (which will work on Win 8.1) will use newer versions of:- VC++ (2013 instead of 2008)- .NET (4.5 instead of 3.5)- MSXML (6.0 instead of 4.0)Thank you.
Hi,I am new to solving PDEs in mathcad. I was wondering if someone could take a look at my file and tell me where I am going wrong. This is a 1-D heat transfer PDE, and I looked online to see what I was doing wrong. But it seems that the other people's examples are also not opening on my computer. Here's the fileThank you!
How to change the font and scale on the chart? As the chart to increase the size scale? Thanks.
Hi All,I'm creating calculation template in Mathcad which includes some scriptable objects like text box, list box etc. I've found on this community how to disable warning pop up massage while opening sheet with scripts but the limitiation here is that every user I want to share my template with has to have set the script security option to low. Is there any way to have pop up warning message disabled for MY templates while still active for other sheets with included scripts? If I recommend all users to set script security to low level, I will expose them on possible harmfull sheets comming from untrusted source. Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.Regards,Martin
I'm still new to this discussion board. As I look through the threads, the question I keep coming back to is: who are the intended users for Prime?Current MCAD15 users don't seem that enthused about Prime. Is PTC writing off some current users in the hopes of attracting a newer group with different skills?
Hello all,i am using MATHCAD 15,i want to customise the temperature Default unit (K-Kelvin) in SI to cutomised unit (Degree celcius - oC)i have tried to convert this usingTools / worksheeet options / Unit system / Temperature(K) / change unit /in the unit column there is celcius option is givenonly "CHANGE DELTA C" is available in need degree celciusI am new to math cad plaese help me RegardsBalaji.K
Hi everyone,I would like to know if there is a way in MathCAD to solve such an equation: Where (unfortunately ) Sa(w,x) is known and G(w) is unknown. All other parameters can be considered known. The equation comes from a book about Eartquake Engineeering, and gives a possible relationship between Response Spectrum and Power Spectrum, together with Fourier Spectrum (less common) they are the type of spectra commonly used in earthquake engineering. So the unknown function G (in my problem the power spectrum) would appear at the same time under integral and outside of it. Schematically it would be something like: with F(w) known (but not a simple analytical function, it would have to be a splined interpolation, see small example on the left in the first picture above) and X(w) unknown. If, as I believe, there is no MathCAD way, I would be grateful for some hints to known numerical methods to solve the problem... my calculus lessons are a little dated Thanks a lot in advanceClaudio
Hi,I have tried to solve equations of current ramping up and down in a power converter, including the series (parasitic) resistances in the circuit. Solve block works fine and finds sensible results, except ... one of the 2 parameters I am searching (aa) is a duty cycle, and therefore, should be unitless, and it comes out of the solve block with a unit (Amps, like the other variable). I just can't find what I've got wrong, since all the equations I input will only work if the variable is unitless, so why on earth would the solve block add a unit that doesn't work ? Unless I missed something ...Thanks
I have entered into http://support.ptc.com/support/mathcad_downloads.htm, from my support page. I see there are many links to download versions of the application. For example, I found:Product: MathcadVersion: 14.0Datecode:M020License: Single-UserFile(s) to download:Is this the complete software (version 14.0) or is it only an update? is the single-user license included, or how can I obtain one of mathcad 14?In advancce, thank you very much.
Good Afternoon Community,If anybody can tell me why I'm not getting an output to the attached file. My goal is to calculate the lateral stiffness of a pile group called alpha_sub_uF, but when I substitute the pile spacing S_p and xi in the procedure, I did not get any output. I have cut and paste the equation I'm trying to program at the bottom of the worksheet. Please help.Regards,Boyer
How could I download an offline instalation file of Mathcad Express? That's because I don't have right now a broadband internet conection at home, only a minimal conection that will let me only activate the product, but not to download it. I need download the offline version, so I could install it in my personal computer. In advance, thank you very much.
The solve block in Prime 3.0 contains section in which to enter equations, parameters, etc. That's OK, but I'm trying to put solve blocks into a document (a book manuscript) and I need to be compact. As it is, it takes half a page to display all this stuff and tryinig to compress it makes it unreadable. In MCAD 15, solve blocks could be very compact while still being easy to read.Is there some way around this problem?
Hi all, I was wondering if there is way to change the default page size from letter to A4 in Prime 2 / 3 without using templates? Is there a config file somewhere?Any advice appreciated.
