Hello, I'm trying to recreate our parent company's approach to our PTC solution, however our communication with them is limited. I want to mimic their approach and procedures so I can discover how to revamp and resuit for our needs and build our Windchill ditabase. This is a lot of work, but our parent company did not do things the out of the box approach, so it requires understanding and then tweaking. We receive their XML files for our manuals, I have a copy of their custom folder, and received their bursting rules as well. When I try to burst a book from the map level, it comes back with an error saying, "Cannot modify the following attributes: lang, because they are not defined." I'm still a novice, although I have gone through all the AE and WC PTC courses I can go through, but I'm not sure where to fix this issue. The attributes are defined in the bursting rules, I see language under the attribute root in the Type and Attribute Mgr in WC, and it is a valid el
Somebody knows when will be released Creo 2.0?
Hello dear, after several years of hard work with Pro/E and now with Creo, I decided to enroll in this community.I am 48 years old and 6 years working on his own.I own a design studio in Rimini and our main activities are developed as part of Reverse Engineering. We use with great satisfaction the REX form, we believe that one of the best applications in the industry. For the detailed laser scans we use a FARO arm with laser probe. For the architectural surveys we use FARO & LEICA Laser Scanner. We also use, at a very good level, the AAX module. We also deal in other areas such as sheet metal work, shipbuilding, automotive and motorcycling.I hope I can be supportive in your requests and to receive your helpful suggestions.Forgive my school level English, I am working to improve it.I wish you a future full of serenity and satisfaction.Massimo Mele

Actually I got a requirement that to get the Page number of a topic which was cross-referenced(xref). When I use cross reference style in Styler it gives the respective page number in the PDF with the links. But I don't want to create link just want to show the page number as text. Is it possible through styler. Is this possible with modify of the styler formatting element?
I am creating this post due to my frustration with the confusion caused by PTC with their naming changes recently.Creo/Elements Pro 5 = Pro/ENGINEERCreo = CreoI see many people are still confused by calling Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5, Creo. Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5 was renamed Creo/Elements Pro 5. Creo/Elements Pro 5 is not the same as PTC's new CAD suite called Creo. They are two completely different things. Many people when asking questions about Creo, get responses on Creo/Elements Pro 5 which is like asking someone a question about Lexus vehicle and they give you an answer based on a Toyota.I also find Youtube videos claiming to show something realted to Creo and when I open the video it's actually Creo/Elements Pro 5 which is NOT Creo. This is not the end users fault and more PTC's fault for rebranding Pro/ENGINEER as Creo/Elements Pro and not allowing it to retire with any respect for it's original name that it held for 25 years.Creo/Elements Pro is Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire with a new nam

Hi, I'm actually working for a tech doc company involved in aerospace programs. We have a publishing system based on PTC print composer and enabling to publish aerospace documentation in different european languages such as french, spanish, english, etc. One new requirement is to adapt the solution to both chinese and russian. Looking at PTC people, it seems that there are no limitation for that ... in theory But in the real life ? Does someone have experimented PTC print composer for publishing in chinese and russian ? If the answer is yes (hope so) and if it is not too confidential, is it possible to have some references of company using that kind of solution ? Also, technically speaking, are there some limitations ? All answers are welcome, Pierre
Having trouble with pagesets not creating a "blank backing page" (rectobb) unless the page is followed by the start of another pageset. If any pageset is the last pageset in the document, Print Compose will end the document on a recto page. However, the same pageset will correctly end on a rectobb if it is followed by another pageset. Any ideas?
I am trying to create a keyboard shortcut for the Find --> Find Tag/Attribute menu item. I know I can go to the command line and type: map F2 command-name Unfortunately, I don't know what the command name is for this and I don't see it anywhere in the Help. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? P.S. I am using ArborText v5.3
Hi Arbortext Experts, We're trying to put the DITA 1.2 keyref/keydef functionality into effect and having no success. Particularly, we want to use the functionality to replace variables in text with designated literals. The Arbortext help instructions are confusing at best (we really have tried), and the DITA instructions that I've found (http://dita.xml.org/resource/keyref-overview-dita-12, "Swapping Out Variable Content") are clear but aren't working. Are there any other resources out there? Thanks!

All you have to do is read Simon Taylor's column (it's really the "Styler" tag, but he's the main contributor so far). He's just getting started, but he's got a lot of good information going in there about what's coming down the road for Arbortext Styler. So far it's just a peek, but the promise is there. I know I've been glued to the posts. We, here at Single-Sourcing Solutions, are thrilled to see the PMs starting to write up stuff -- and I know Simon's been itching to get started. I've known Simon for a long time. He's an amazing PM. Interested in solving real problems. Interested in talking to customers and finding out what they really need. He spends his days thinking about putting words on "pages" and he's damn good at it. Here's my advice: Read the posts. Give him your feedback and comments, if you've got 'em. It'll make the product better for all of us!
