Previously, the FlexPLM community was present under Windchill as a seperate entity. Now, all the historical content is merged into Windchill Ideas& Questions which makes searching and browsing content tedious since all windchill content does not apply to FlexPLM (Retail PLM). And accesing the previous URL, throws 'Access Denied' and naviagtes to 'https://community.ptc.com/t5/FlexPLM-Quesitons/bd-p/FlexPLM' Can the FlexPLM community be seperated ?
Let me first say that @Tmetcalf is aware of the problem and working on it. I am just posting here as I have investigated a little bit more and I am curious if all of you have those problem, as at least on user had not. There seems to be a list which tells Lithium which extensions should be allowed for attachments. RTF is not allowed (it should be added to the list) and that's the error message you get when trying to post a file which is not allowed: As you can read, Mathcad files with extensions mcd, xmcd, xmcdz, mcdx should be allowed. But when I try to attach Mathcad files, I get a different error message and still am not allowed to do:Here it looks like Lithium would be happy to accept an mcd file but it looked into the file and came to the conclusion that its not really a mcd file. Needless to say that all files I was trying to attach were valid Mathcad files. I am not sure how exactly Lithium will decide if a file is a true mcd file or not, but there seems to be a data
Who do i contact to get access to the following site below? https://community.ptc.com/t5/Reporting-Ideas/How-to-automatically-pass-log-on-credentials-in-an-Excel-report/td-p/318024
I can't find here forum about administration, which I used for 20 years. .
Since the change to the new forum I am lost. I used to get email notifications of MathCad posts. Now I am getting nothing even though my settings are all set to default notitications.
Good day everyone, As communicated in this post we have updated the rank names to numerical levels ranging from 1 to 20. Your rank is an indication of your involvement within PTC Community and you will rise through the rank ladder by visiting, participating, and interacting with fellow community members. Ways to rank up: Posting questions Responding to questions Giving and receiving Kudos Creating and uploading content The goal of ranks is to reward you for your valuable visits and participation. Cheers, Toby
When I post a question in the Help area of the community, I get label choices I can choose from. (see image) When I post a question in the Creo Modeling questions area, I get no label choices (see image) So if labels are going to help me see the topics I am interested in with respect to the community, why are there no choices? Am I missing something?
Now it seems to have calmed down and it got quiter, two and a half weeks after the migration, and it looks as everybody is waiting for changes 😉Is there any timeline/time horizon which @Tmetcalf can give us as to when we can expect improvements according to change theme to a much more tidy one which wastes less space and give the message body more room enable intendted view and make it easy switching from linear view to intented view in threads and blogs more convenient overview pages (get rid of "New solutions" part), etc. enable browser spellchecker in Richt Text mode, too missing attachments (videos) missing groups, resp. creating and customizing our own groups (really miss my start page) upload problems (embed pics from clipboard & attach PTC product files w/o havin to zip first) .... ?
I just realized that some of the posts have the little paper clip over on the right hand side and so there are pictures (.png's) or things attached to the post. Did these used to be embedded in the post but now there are not? I thought the caterwalling was that you had to save things and then attach them (but yet embedded in the discussion). Now I just realized that they are not even in the post and you have to click on them separately. No wonder a bunch of discussions and stuff didn't make sense.
Good day everyone, I have deployed a new feature within each product area. It will show you items by content type. Please check it out and let me know your thoughts. Best, Toby
Previously, I could access an group called 'Reporting' which had document - "Resource for Reporting" https://community.ptc.com/t5/Reporting/Resource-for-reporting/gpm-p/448738 Now, i cannot see the group nor the document. How can i join the reserved group ? and access content ?? Edit: After receiving the invite from Community Admin, i was able to access the Reserved Group. Thnaks! Vijay
Is statuses (?) for Ideas still applicable? This Idea has been implemented, can the status be changed to implemented or ?? or are there no statuses for ideas?
When I look at the overview in "PTC Community Help" I can see if there are new posts in one of its three sections. Thats nice (and would even be nicer if we could get rid of the "new solotions" part so weI would not be forced to scroll down to see that information) In the example above I see that there a 4 new posts in "Welcome ..." and when I go to this section, which is a collection of threads, the threads with the new posts have bubbled to the top and when the "n REPLIES" is written in green, thta thread contains posts I haven'r read already. Its nice to have back (compared to the old Mathcad collab) this new/read feature. Unfortiunately this comfort is completely lost when it comes to "Communities Announcements". This is a collection of blogs and the "14 NEW" in the overview refers to comments in some of those blogs. As with "documents" in Jive (which were hard to impossible to follow, too) a blog will not bubble to the top just because a comment was made. Looking at the list of po
There used to be a way to watch previous PTC webinars. I'm specifically looking for the webinars with demos of upcoming upgrades to FlexPLM. Are those gone now, or am I just looking in the wrong place? (I've checked under FlexPLM Ideas and FlexPLM Questions.)
Your Status You haven't set a status update. Log in and set your status. New user - I am receiving the following email on a weekly basis from the PTC user community. Not sure what is needed. The link sent in the e-mail will not open and displays the following message. Any thoughts? There is a problem with this website’s security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
Good day everyone, Along with our Welcome and How-To's I have loaded some Lithium documentation to help you get started and best utilize the Lithium platform. Please click on your avatar in the top right of the header and select "Help" from the dropdown. If you question is not answered there, please ask it here - when the link opens, click Start a Topic on the right to ask a new question. Best, Toby
Fellow Community Members, Did you subscribe to email notifications in the Jive system? Have you already re-subscribed to the email notifications in the Lithium system? I have some opinions on the differences between the email notificaitions between the two systems. Perhaps some of this can be configured, and some cannot. But maybe this topic can get a conversation started about email notificaitons. You may agree, disagree, or bring up additional points to consider. Here are my thoughts: I liked how Jive had the community name in brackets at the start. It helped for organization, so I knew the context of the conversation. I liked how Jive has the username in the “from:” email, so we could easily tell from the inbox who sent the message. There is so much non-value-added information in Lithium subscription emails, such as: “(PTC User Community Subscription Update)” in the subject. The header of the email body that says the <username> posted a n
Just an FYI, if you go to my subscriptions and then notification settings, there are a few settings you may want to change, or at least review. In my case, I have subscribed to several boards and idea areas and a few groups. I noticed later that when I would look at my subscriptions there was a mess of topics I was subscribed to also. I looked in my notifications settings and decided to change a few of the default settings. Since I already have subscribed to the areas I want to get notifications to (all posts), I don't need to also subscribe to individual topics I participate in, so I turned that setting off. There were some other notifications that I didn't care to see immediately, so I set them to "daily digest" or never just so I wouldn't get notifications on stuff that wouldn't possibly need attention. In any case, if you used email notifications or you use your notification feed to review your notifications, you may want to review your notification settings.
Can you tell if another community member is a student or academic user? It was handy to direct academic type questions to the ptc academic forum, especially when lots of the questions are about downloading, installing, and licensing.
When performing a search using some key words, I typically would sort the contents of the search from newest to oldest. How is this now done. If I went to "Date", it just truncated for the specified time period (i.e. day, week, month, year,....).
I was subscribed to custom weekly community updates from the old user community (www.ptcusercommunity.com). Now that we are switched over to the new Lithium site (community.ptc.com) I am still getting a weekly email from the old site with old activity with links to the Jive site which don't work. How can I unsubscribe from these emails? When I attempt to browse to the old community page I am automatically redirected to the new one. Thanks, Dan
Good day everyone, I know this has been quite a change. I believe in the Lithium platform and what it can do for us. I apologies again for the search frustration, but I am working on it. With next week being a holiday, I will be away till later in the week, but I WILL be checking in. I believe I have almost solved the Groups issue, but experienced an issue that I could not get past. Have a great long weekend everyone. Please feel free to messgage me here or - Best, Toby
I'm unable to find some postings that were done in Jive in late June. There is an example below in the screenshot. Similarily, it is difficult to find old topics in the new Lithium site. I have email notifications from Jive. And I guess I can't click the hyperlinks anymore. There is no appropriate redirection. Instead I try to copy the topic name and search for it in Lithium. That is what I tried for "Workflow Task Form Template", but was unable to find that topic. Also in the 2nd screenshot, you can notice an extra "Did you mean: "Outflow Task Form Template"" in the far top right corner. email notification of the topic in Jiveunable to find the topic in Lithium
After the Lithium transformation, Every day at first time opening ptccommunity, I am getting the Certification failure error from the Browser. I was tried with Firefox and Chrome. The web page blocked by both browser and then I have to manually get the certificate from the site then reopening the page. Please fix the issue.
How do I disable Lithium's chopping up of comments into pages? I want to see all of the comments for a post on one page.
