Hi all i think i already know the answer to the question. Is there anyway of opening a Pro/Desktop des. file in Creo.I know we used to be able to open them in earlier versions on Pro/E which I have done before and these files open on Creo.Problem is the only version have of Pro/E is wildfire 5 and i don't have a licence file. Not a problem normally but when I install and contact the PTC server to download the licence file it tells me that I have surpassed the amount of times I can download a licence file.Any ideas for a quick solution.Just want to open the models and re render them.Simon
I have not been having a good experience with Creo. I initially had problems getting it running (due to Quality Agent), and now when I create a new part I have a new issue:Here is Creo Parametric when I open it: And when I start a new part:As you can see, the 'working area' doesn't change. It does not display the axes of operation etc. I really have no idea why this is happening, any wisdom would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ben.
I uninstalled my student copy of CREO, and then later attempted to reinstall it. I can no longer generate a license for CREO though, when I enter my SOM number it reads 'processing' and then 'failed'. I'm not entirely sure what I can do about this?

Hi, i am a mechanical engineering student. My project for capstone design involves designing a compact car with a monocoque chassis. If im using CREO 1.0 how do I go about the design. My lecturer said, there wouldnt be any possibility for me to design from scratch. According to him, I could call the parts of a monocoque chassis from a "library" and use if for the designing process. If the proper parameters has been set, the drawing and assembly would become parametric and I would be able to change and alter the design, shape and dimension of the designed car.Is this claim by my lecturer true? If it is, please show me a way to access to a "library" and are there any tutorial that I could use, if i need to design from scratch?I may sound a little noob, but please help me. I have tried googling many resources, however met with failure.Thank you very much!
Can I install CREO School Editon on Windows 7 Home Basic?
It used to work fine on my computer. Now it suddenly won't start. It's the school edition, Wildfire 5 (from what I can tell in the bin folder). Anyway, I click to start the program and nothing happens. If I watch Task Manager, two process both called "cmd.exe *32" start as well as I think one called "conhost.exe", but after a few secons one of the cmd.exe processes stop. The other two processes remain and nothing happens. If I end the remaining cmd processes and try to start all over again, it seems sometimes a cmd process and the conhost processes show up again, but sometimes not, maybe depending on how quickly I try again. Anyway, I've tried different compatibility modes, running as administrator, but have had no luck. I also can't find the install CD, so I don't know what to do. Hi there,I'm a University student whose recently tried to download Creo 1.0 for Engineering Design. I've downloaded the license documents and all the set up stuff. I then downloaded the Creo 1.0 DVD zip folder. When it was complete, I tried to launch the program but a window pops up saying "the compressed file is invalid or corrupt".I then used a free download manager to download it and tried again. But again the same thing happens?I hope this isn't a noob question or I'm missing something obvious but how do I resolve this, preferably without having to download it a third time? I have Windows XP if that makes any difference. Please help. Thanks,Danny

Team 1967 has recently been tinkering with the use of MathCAD to "do the math" for this year's Rebound Rumble game. We created a ball trajectory calculator worksheet in MathCAD Prime 1.0, inspired by the work of http://engunneer.com/content/blog/first-2012-ball-trajectory-spreadsheet.Thought other teams might be interested in seeing how MathCAD can be used in FRC.
I have successfully downloaded Creo Parametric. All the icons on the toolbars appear to work but upon selecting sketch or anything the screen remains white, nothing is displayed. If I try to draw a line, the line is not visible on the screen. I have attached a print screen of what I can see.Any help would be much appreciated,-Sal

Hi there, Today I was trying to install my copy of Pro/E on my newly installed copy of Win XP and I've encountered a little problem - the installer got stuck at 98% a point labelled "Pro/Engineer Configuration". Here's a screen shot. It stays at 98% for like 2 hours now. The images are changing tho.

Hello,i had problems with the online activation of Creo, i could never procede.I think i solved the problems but now it says that i have already tried to often to registrate. Is there any way i can reset my profile or something like that so i can registrate properly?thanks in advance,DavidPS: Iam using the license my University purchased for its students.
Students from schools across the region gathered March 30th and 31st at the University of Minnesota’s athletic complex in Minneapolis for this year’s FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) regional robotics competition. This year, students competed in a mechanical basketball shootout in an event called the Rebound Rumble (See Pam Vermeer’s write up below for details on the competition). The Thursday before the competition, a number of PTC employees participated in the set up for the event, transforming the University of Minnesota athletic complex into a playground for the Rebound Rumble. The set up of the course must be done very carefully, as all of the robots have been designed using precise measurements according to the initial game requirements presented during the Rebound Rumble kick-off in January. The teams had six weeks to design and build their robots before loading them up. When they arrive for the competitions, the robots are waiting for them in the
