Team 1671 has been a major supporter of one of the biggest FIRST FLL championship events.Shown here is their 2011 robot. It was awesome seeing the kids faces light up when they talked about seeing this robot!

<Re-posted from the Product Development Challenges & Best Practices group>LearningExchange now has a series of Best Practice Academy tutorials focused on the subject of Rounds. These videos are taken from the Best Practice Academy modules of Rounds - part of the Art of Rounds workshop - in the PTC University portfolio. These tutorials are more advanced in nature and are meant to show more process or method best practices rather than just feature function training. So, do you want to master the complex art of rounds in Creo Elements/Pro (now Creo 1.0)? If so, take a look at some of these best practices when working with rounds.
Starting to work with and play around in new Windchill 10.0 FIRST Windchill Project Site. Much better than 9.X!!

I'm trying to get the schools edition to install as I'm an engineering Ph.D student. I've been trying for several hours to complete the installation but nothing seems to work. It hangs at 1% or 2%.I've now apparently hit the limit of my license requests to try and install so I'm out of options.I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64. It's all updated, in fact the last group of updates was done last night.I've tried turning off all other programs in the background. Tried restarting. Tried deleting all the temporary files it installed (when I select Cancel Installation it just freezes) and rerunning the installer. Tried redownloading the installer four times now. Tried installing by extracting to a temporary folder as well as to the Program Files (x86)/PTC.Setup folder. Nothing i've tried was successful.I haven't been able to find an installation log file to see what it's hanging on.Has anyone else run into this or have any ideas on what else I might try?
Hello,I'm having some trouble uploading documents to Windchill 10.0, using the RWDC portal at https://rwdc.ptc.com.We have found the current capabilities within the "Meetings" section of the Navigator in Windchill to be lacking, so I decided to create a folder for all meeting notes in the "Folders" section of the Navigator.Fig 1:(Note you can click on the images to expand them if they do not display fully within the thread dimensions. Please notify me if you cannot fully see the images.)Within the Meeting Notes folder is notes from two previous meetings, which I had uploaded previously with no problems.Fig 2:When I attempt to create a new document using the "New Document" button the dialog appears and I filled it out (what is believe is) correctly.Fig 3:I assume the "Set Attachments" page is not needed as I have only one file to upload. Therefore I click "Finish" in hopes that it will create the document space and upload the file to the Windchill server; however it throws what looks li
Hi,I appear to be experiencing a licensing problem when I want to make a welding in the welding application. I am using Creo Elements/ Pro 5.0 Student Edition and can run the welding application without problems. But when I actually want to place a fillet weld, Creo tells me that a file called iso_fillet.sym located in Program Files\Creo Elements\Student Edition\symbols\library_syms\weldsymlib\iso_weld is created with a commercial license of Creo and therefore not compatible with my Student Edition. Then, Creo crashes. Does anyone experience a similar problem? Or even know a solution?Cheers and Thanks, Felix

Company policies and budgets aside – I understand that we cannot always get what we want (*Sigh* I am still waiting for George Clooney to take me out to dinner) – but what is your personal preference for taking training? With every minor or major software update?A beginner training only when you start working with a new product?Once a year to refresh your skills and especially those you may not need on a day-to-day basis?Or as often as possible in order to reach an advisor status in your organization who can then pass on knowledge to the colleagues?Looking forward to hearing from you!Bettina-
Besten Dank Christoph
A few months ago, I had already blogged about this topic. What is effective training preparation? In other words: What can you do to get the most out of your attendance? The original blog post wasn’t commented on, but I had received a lot of positive feedback from customers and colleagues that this is an interesting topic and many people shared their views over the phone. So I thought I'd bring this up here again, now as we have our own Community for training topics! Can you share your experiences?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. So I'm in the RWDC for this year and I'm trying to get Creo on my home computer, but it keeps getting interrupted once it's downloaded around 300 - 500MB. I figured I'd create an account (which I would assume I'd have to do anyway) and ask this, although right now it seems to have gotten farther than normal so that could have fixed the problem. Any suggestions?
for the RWDC, are we supposed to use the student edition or the school edition? on the RWDC website, it says student edition but on the email packet, it says school edition....which is which?
Hi,Im mentoring team 3316 in Tel Aviv Israel again this year. I want the kids to learn how to work with creo elements pro (formerly pro e). I saw that there is this new thing called precision lms where they can do online training courses. i also read that a group can be opened and i can monitor the kids progress. how do i do that? it seems like im supposed to have a "teacher" account, how do i get one of those. thanks,Itzik
Hey everyone,So I have had a lot of fun using Mathcad since Feburary of this year. Our FIRST Robotics Competition team 1671 from Clovis, CA got it free as a part of competitions Kit of Parts. I have main been checking out the solve and set equal to operators and taking integrals for my Calculus homework when I get tried of doing them by hand. But recently, I have found another use for it. A little over a month ago, I joined the Zero Robotics Competition, a competition sponsored by MIT, NASA, DARPA, TopCoder, and some other institutions. They challenged teams to develop software that would make a robot revolve a round an object, like in a circle. Although it was quite simple at first, as the task got more difficult, I turned to Mathcad to help me solve some problems. However, I recently ran into some difficulties. First off, I am not entirely sure what Mathcad does and does not allow and understand. I have no formal training; I mainly learn through the included tutorial files on the prog
Hey: I cannot edit features of a part when I am in an assembly. I just switched over from Wildfire 5.0 to Creo. and did not have this problem in wildfire schools edition. Any ideas?
Hi AllI have had a request from a school that has dual boot Macs asking if it possible to run Creo Elements Pro on their machines. The whole school policy is to use Macintosh machines but some have the Intel chipset which I beleive allows the machines to eiither dual boot or emulate a Windows machine. If anyone has any information regarding this proposal please let me knowJohn E ForthLead Trainer Scotland
I am wondering when the Tetrix Bevel Gears will be available for download. When that happens, will the 2012 KOP be updated and noted revised, or where do we check for the additional content? We're using these in our robot this year, and were hoping to have themThanks very much,
I need some help with setting up the MathCad worksheet that the kids are supposed to use to upload calculations into Creo. I am a newby at this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Has any one had issues with WF4 (student) crashing when trying to export a DWG format drawing. I have had this problem for some time and have not been able to resolve it.thanksAllan
Sample bevel gear blank. Just a few features that could be used to represent a bevel gear. Dimensions would need to be modified for the proper bore, thickness and overall diameter. I would suggest adding material for proper weight.
Does anyone know how to change team members roles after they've accepted an invitation? I imagine it could be done by sending them a new invitation, but isn't there a simpler way?
