Is there an easy way to add other materials (like AL-7075) to the defaults the educational version of Creo provides?   We're hoping to get into Simulate this year so we need to make sure we have the right properties set.

I was going to post this in the other discussion, but it was getting pretty long and convoluted. I have two questions about the new Windchill installation:(1) Some of the error messages seem to be missing. I'm getting plenty of errors (mostly my fault, of course) but when I go to the event manager, the message field is blank. Cryptic as they are, they can be useful. Is this a "yet to come" feature?(2) Do/will FIRST teams have access to the Design Exploration (DEX) functionality? I've been hoping that the reason we couldn't have it is that our Windchill was old...Thanks,Noa

How are other teams organizing their parts within Windchill?   Right now we have all of our parts in the CAD Models folder, but after 3 years of doing this that's getting to be a long list.  Are other teams using a folder structure?   Any good or bad with that?  Any issues with leaving them all in one folder as we've done?   It is simpler, but does seem to take longer to load a list of parts now.If people do use folders, then is there a good way to move parts around within Windchill?Rande JohnsonFRC 4931 Mentor

Whenever I try to use the link from the installation guide for the Creo Parametric 3.0 or 2.0 it says 404 server failed and it doesn't let me download the file. What can I do to get the creo software for a student?

Hello, I just signed in for the student program to get a licence and use Creo 3.0 and I received an email from PTC but the problem is that I dont find the licence, and I dont know what it looks like and wher to find it on the email I received. Can anybody help me please ?Thanks in advance

For teams using Windchill that have been experiencing issues, the problem can be solved by updating to the latest build version of Creo 3.   To do this, you should request a new product code from - and download the Creo 3 image from http://www.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academicFree.jsp. Install the Creo 3 image and enter your product code for licensing. Once Creo is installed you should be able to follow the normal steps to connect to Windchill and access your project.

There is a known issue with the Quality Agent in Creo 2.0 M200. This has been reported to the PTC R&D team, and they are working hard on finding a solution. In the meantime, the academic download page has been rolled back to M170 in an effort to get around the error.If you are having an issue with the M200 version of Creo 2.0, I would recommend uninstalling and then installing the M170 version found here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academicFree.jspThanks,Chris

Hi there! When I attempt to open the program up, it fails to run b/c it states that it could not run the Quality Agent and if I call tech support to report an error 6. I thought tech support was open 24 hours but no joy on that. Any ideas, or should I just try in the morning? Thank you!!

Hi everyone,PTC is in the process of staging the Windchill 11.0 upgrade for the Academic Windchill server and plans to execute the upgrade next month. I will let you know as soon as a upgrade date is chosen to make sure it does not conflict with any activities you might have. PTC typically does the update over a weekend and tries to minimize the downtime as much as possible.-Scott

The Save Object dialog presents document names as both a sequential name and a Common Name.I had expected that one should not alter the sequential name, and enter a meaningful name for the Common Name.However the document is saved with the sequential name which is meaningful to only a few.How should we utilise these name fields?

I installed it without errors but when I start the application I have a 'stop.exe' error. System error is missing << ucuore46.dll >>, It says that it should be installed to solve the problem, but it remains the same.

I have installed Creo 3.0 Student edition recently it worked fine. After one some time when i try to open creo i get error saying-"Port-conflict" "The previous restart failed. The port 51244 is also occupied. Restart Creo Parametric and all other opened PTC Applications again. We apologize for any inconvenience"With every restart, the Port number counts up. So now I'm at Port 51256.I can't contact any support, because i only have the Student Edition.I use Win 10 64-Bit-Version on a HP Pav Notebook. If I have a Mac and I get Windows to do Creo 3.0, does it matter which Windows version? Should I download the manager for Win 32 or 64 DVD?

Hello,   I have installed Creo 2.0 Student edition in 2013 and Parametric and simulate worked fine. After one Year the License expired and I requested a new one. Is anyone else experiencing problems with the rendering facilities in Creo 3?I am finding it almost impossible to create good quality renders of wood grain and difficult to replicate renders that I have previously executed easily with Creo 2.It was possible in Creo 2 to create an acceptable render using the default settings but now it is necessary to adjust lighting otherwise the render is much too dark. Even with lighting adjusted it is very difficult to get a good quality render of grain.I personally am most dissapointed with what I have seen so far.Does anyone have any more positive experiences with the rendering facility?Roy Handley

When will the 2017 FIRST FRC field assembly and kit-of-parts CAD files available for PTC creo?  Will they be available?  Even just the step files would be helpful.Thanks.

I downloaded the FRC 2017 CREO KOP files for the parts and the field , The field looks to be correct but the Parts file only downloaded 7 files ? There must be more files that 7 that should be zipped in this file ? Has anyone else seen this issue ?

I am trying to do a drawing in creo with dimensions and all that cool stuff. The dimensions work and everything, but the borders and table in the bottom right corner will not show up. Is this an issue with the templates possibly not being loaded correctly, or is there something else that i have to do that my exercises have not explained to me? I have attached an example of a drawing that i did, as you can see the borders are not there, and the table in the bottom corner is not the one that is supposed to e with the template, it is just something that i added. If somebody could explain to me how to ix this, that would be greatly appreciated, both by me and my team.
