Eagles or Chiefs......   Chiefs or Eagles..... I am going with the commercials for the win. Although last year they bombed out.     Once, I saw a man singing on top of a cliff. He had great potential.   The only thing I can say about numbers which aren't divisible by two is that they're odd.   That joke was sodium funny that I slapped my neon that one.

Hey, what happened to January?!   Happy February. By the way, for those engineers that are paying attention, Valentine's Day is coming. Just a gentle reminder.   If you are mad about Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow (six more weeks of winter), then this week is for you.     What's the difference between a mad engineer and a mad scientist?   The mad engineer builds an efficient, well-designed death ray and destroys the world in one blow.   The mad scientist builds his death ray and divides the world into three randomized groups: an experimental group to be killed, a control group to be spared and a group that is told they are dead to account for the placebo effect.

It's already the last Friday in January. Going to get another dose of winter this weekend, but before you know it spring will start springing.     The uniform beam wobbles a lot, so you'll often need to give it a moment.   Protons are very cheerful, they're so positive.

Finally getting back to winter here today. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, or Buddhist religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each. Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). Error in connecting to the server       A mechanical engineer, a software engineer and a purchasing agent are on their way to an industry event when their rental car gets a flat tire.   The purchasing agent says, "We need to buy a new tire."   The mechanical engineer says, "no, I think I can fix this one."   The software engineer says, "let's drive on it for a while, maybe it'll fix itself."

Spend time with the ones you love!     My wife is an economist and I am an engineer.   I was watching my wife make her breakfast one morning and noticed that she made way too many trips to get each of the items she needed.   So, I said in my best engineer voice, “Hey sweetheart, why don't you utilize the load maximization principle and carry all the items you need in one trip, thereby minimizing total distance travelled?”   Well don't you know, she loved my suggestion!   It used to take her 11 minutes to make her breakfast… now I do it in 5.

During this season of advent (waiting) take time to appreciate how much you have been blessed. Be a blessing to someone around you today.     What do you call an engineer who doesn’t know how to use a calculator? A project engineer.     There’s a fine line between a numerator and a denominator; only a fraction of people thinks that it’s funny.

For those in the US, have a blessed Thanksgiving. Make a list of all the things with which you have been blessed. Think of all the struggles that you have endured.   I thankful for my wife (of almost 35 years), my daughter and son, and two new knees this year!!!     Amazing things happen when engineers plan Thanksgiving.    Planning is key. Of course, as we all know, having a correct Bill of Materials (BoM), Process Plan, Measurement Plan and Part Drawings with GD&T are integral to a smooth Holiday Life Cycle (HLM).   Planning is Key - Determination of Build Objectives Thanksgiving is a big event. As they say ....a "picture" is worth 1,000 words."  PTC/USER did a fantastic job hosting their PTC/USER event after the pandemic last October 3rd. The PTC UX Lab Team was able to complete over 150 research studies, a schedule jam packed with presentations led by customers (users like you) and PTC product managers, sponsor connect ups (i.e. ax throwing) in the evenings, and a Lua at Sea World Orlando's Discovery Cove!    I (Jaime Lee) didn't personally take a lot of photos, but maybe you would like to add some of your favorites of the PTC/USER event as a reply to this post.  Or, if you see your co-workers or friends tag them in a reply so they see their photo!   Start planning to connect again with your community peers and PTC employees at LiveWorx 2023.  Call for Papers (where YOU might be selected as a speaker) is open until November 20th. Dramatic weather swing here in West Michigan. Seventies yesterday (very unseasonably warm) to accumulative snow on Sunday. Throw another log on the fire this weekend and grab a cup of hot chocolate.   I asked a train engineer how many time he had derailed. He said, "I don't know, its hard to keep track."   I asked an engineer, "What's 2+2?" He replied, "4 ... No, 5 just to be safe."   I have a Polish friend who is an audio engineer and a Czech one too. Czech one too.

Welcome to November.... Beautiful in Michigan this past week mid sixties and sunny. I am looking forward to the snow soon. Don't forget to fall back on the clocks and may the house pass the bill to have Date Light Saving Time be permanent.   A telecoms engineer joins the army... On the shooting range the Sergeant shows him the distant target and tells him to fire six rounds, which he does. The Sarge walks all the way to the target and shouts back "You haven't hit it at all!" The telecoms guy puts his finger over the end of the barrel, pulls the trigger and blows his finger clean off and shouts back, "It's leaving here ok - the problem must be at your end!"

Enjoy time in the creation around you looking at the handiwork and how it interreacts.     An engineer, a physicist, a mathematician, and a philosopher are at a coffee house. The physicist says, "You know, engineering is just applied physics," and they all laughed. The mathematician says, "You know, physics is just applied math," and they all laughed again. Then the philosopher says, "Well, you know, math is just applied philosophy," and... The engineer says, "Shut up and make our coffee."

There was a little bit of sweeping around the house this past week...        

Enjoy this last day of September. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. For those in the north, enjoy the changing of the colors. Have a terrific weekend and those traveling to the PTC conference - safe and effective travels....   An engineer, a physicist and a mathematician have to build a fence around a flock of sheep, using as little material as possible. The engineer forms the flock into a circular shape and constructs a fence around it. The physicist builds a fence with an infinite diameter and pulls it together until it fits around the flock. The mathematician thinks for a while, then builds a fence around himself and defines himself as being outside.
