Second follow up appointment for my wife this afternoon. Praying that all goes well. Enjoy things starting SPRING around you. I noticed some "sap"cicles hanging from a tree branch yesterday evening. Trees are starting to "come back to life". WHICH KING LOVED FRACTIONS… … HENRY THE 1/8TH YOU KNOW WHAT SEEMS ODD? NUMBERS THAT CANNOT BE DIVIDED BY TWO.
Spring is trying to get to Michigan (go to the local Home & Garden Show this weekend), but I think winter will hold on for just a little bit longer. Have a terrific weekend and hug the ones you love. Everything in product development these days is about connectivity. One company just came out with a new silent smoke alarm. When it detects smoke: it sends you a text, posts on X to your friends, sends a picture of the fire to Facebook, and streams live on YouTube.
Do you do anything special for the special someone in your life on Valentine's Day? Be blessed and have a great weekend. Roses are red, violets are blue, I think I forgot That this poem should rhyme. Roses are red, At my poem you scoff, I may have got the rhyme part right this time, But the meter’s just a tad bit off. Roses are red The third time’s the charm. Don’t worry! There isn’t A cause for alarm. Violets are blue, Water is clear, Of course I can’t rhyme, I’m just an enjinear!
Have a blessed weekend. Putting on a "Pizza & Game" night at our church Saturday night. It's going to be a busy weekend. Hug the ones you love. Since it was recently February 2nd (2-2) Several professionals are asked, “What is 2 + 2?” The mathematician says, “An expression equivalent to 22.” The engineer says, “It is approximately 3.9999998.” The physicist says, “It is 3.99, plus or minus 3%.” The statistician says, “That depends. What would you like it to be?”
Frequently I mention to hug the ones you love, to say "I Love You", spend time with them. It became more clear on Monday, January 13th, when I got a phone call from one of my wife's co-workers asking if I had been in contact with her because she didn't show up for work and they were not able to reach her on her cell phone. After a few scary moments, I was able to talk with my wife (the EMT's had found her phone) and she was heading to the hospital. With only a compression fracture in her back, we are both very grateful for the safety feature designed into today's vehicles after a pickup truck had crossed the centerline and hit her head on during a slippery commute (almost) to work. Give an extra hug to the ones you love the next time you see them, because in a moment.... Curious what you think about 1/3600 of an hour? Just looking for a second opinion.
Hug the ones you love... Tell them that you love them... I have decided this year I will only watch videos in 1080p or higher… This is my New Year’s resolution!
It's a new year. Hope you are off to a good start on any goals you have made. 2-5 inches of snow for the next 24-48 hours. Looking forward to our company party tomorrow night. Be blessed! To those thinking that you cannot make an elemental joke, Calcium and Nitrogen thought the same thing, but they CaN!
Going to be enjoying more PTO. Have you set any goals for the New Year? Are you completing any goals from last year? Enjoy time with the ones you love!! For the new year I am hoping to read more. Can any of you recommend a book that made you cry? Engineer: Fundamentals of Heat and Mass Transfer, Fifth Edition, Incropera & DeWitt
Help me become smarter Help me become kinder Help me learn life Help me give joy Help me just live Bogdan Gryshyn 20,10,2020
I am using up more PTO and will not be in the office much over the next few weeks. Have a blessed Christ-mas. Enjoy time with your loved ones. Cherish the moments. See ya next year - at least at the PTCooler... It is understood that Santa has declined this year the tradition of squeezing down a sooty chimney to deliver presents at Christmas. Reports are that he is worried about his carbon footprint... This Christmas will be a good time for playing the sock market. Last year Santa got sick. He came down with the flue when he came down my chimney. A long time ago I was at Santa’s workshop telling lots of jokes. He got a little upset with me because the elves were not getting their work done so he had the elves lock me into a closet until I could come up with another joke that he had never heard. I couldn’t think of anything, so I said, “O pun the door”. My wife, shortly before Christmas, told me she wanted something able to go from 0-10
Enjoying a Friday from home. Have to use up some PTO. Have a terrific weekend. What do you get when you sit on ice to long? Polar-oids.
We got a little dose of winter this week. Things are beautiful outside and cozy warm by the woodstove inside. Hope you got through your list of things for which you are thankful. Wednesday was another year of commitment to my sweetie. PTL Most engineers are familiar with Newton's second law, his law of gravitation, Kirchhoff's laws, and so forth. But do you know about Cole's Law? It is thinly sliced cabbage with carrots, mayonnaise, and a little vinegar.
What are you thankful for this year? Have a blessed long weekend in the US. A song that I like to think of this time of year: Verse 1 When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,Count your many blessings, name them one by one,And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done. Chorus Count your blessings, name them one by one;Count your blessings, see what God hath done;Count your blessings, name them one by one;Count your many blessings, see what God hath done. For those that are engineering the celebration:
Given that next week is Thanksgiving (Thursday in the US), for what are you most thankful? Time for reflection. Be blessed this weekend, Q. How many quality engineers does it take to change a lightbulb? A. Well, before we can answer that let us get some basic info: Was a “5 Why” completed on the failure? What is our PPM’s? Was there a root cause analysis? Has a DFMEA been completed? Have other suspect bulbs been isolated? Up/down stream? Time for a LEAN Six Sigma analysis? What was the SPC?
Be safe if you are a deer hunter in Michigan. Today is the opening day of rifle/gun season. Enjoying the wood stove the last week now that the temperature are finally starting to moderate. Be blessed!! Q: How many engineers does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Well, before we can answer that let us get some basic info: How high up is the light bulb? What type of light bulb? Do you need to be there when we remove the light bulb? What is the charge code? What is your budget? When is the due date? What do you want to do with the old lightbulb?
Spent some quality time with my daughter this morning..... ..... dad can you come and help me change a flat tire.... Have great weekend. Whether raking leaves, exploring creation, spending time with the ones you love!!
Have a blessed Reformation Day. Fall/winter blew in yesterday with the cold front. Maybe time to put a fire in the wood stove tonight. Make s'mores with leftover Halloween candy. How do people organize parties at NASA? They planet.
Weather is starting to turn towards fall finally. The trees have been blessed with beauty this year. Enjoy your time with the ones you love this weekend. Spend time with your Family on Sunday. In lite of reviews where I work this past week... Why did the software engineer quit his job? He did not get arrays.
Starting to fit in the remaining PTO into the remaining year. Have a great weekend. Pick some apples, drink some cider, have a bonfire, enjoy the creation around you. Did you know that 3.1415926535% of sailors are Pi-rates?
This did not happen to me, but saw it on Facebook. So, last week, something pretty tragic happened in our household. It's taken me until now to wrap my head around it and find the words to describe the horror. It started off simple enough - something that's probably happened to most of you. Sometime between midnight and 1:30am, our puppy Evie pooped on our rug in the living room. This is the only time she's done this, so it's probably just because we forgot to let her out before we went to bed that night. Now, if you have a detective's mind, you may be wondering how we know the poop occurred between midnight and 1:30am. We were asleep, so how do I know that time frame? Why, friends, that's because our Roomba runs at 1:30am every night, while we sleep. And it found the poop. And so begins the Pooptastrophe. The poohpocalypse. The pooppening. If you have a Roomba, please rid yourself of all distractions and absorb everything I'm about to tell you. Do no
Have a blessed weekend. Hug the ones you love. List all math jokes in order of length. Assume there is a largest math joke, L. Create a new math joke, J, by appending to L the joke about pirates. J is now larger than L, which is a contradiction. Therefor, the set of math jokes is infinite. Now, assume a good math joke, M. If M is a good joke, then it is funny. If a joke is funny, then everyone will know it. If everyone knows a joke, then the joke will not be funny. If a joke is not funny, then it is not a good joke. Therefor, if M is a good joke, M is not a good joke. By contradiction, there are no good math jokes. Therefor: There are infinitely many math jokes and none of them are good.
It happens very rarely to see phenomena like this in the latitudes where I live but this year is already the second time. These are from last night.
Heading up north this weekend for some recharge time. Thinking of those who have been devastated by floods and winds from Hurricane Helene. Keep those people in your prayers that are: 1. Looking for loved ones. 2. Figuring out what is next in life because everything that defined it has been wiped out. 3. Rebuilding after the damage to house, vehicles, roads, infrastructure.... If you have been blessed, how can you be a blessing to those that are around you that are hurting.
Doing a some volunteering Saturday, so I have tomorrow off. Enjoy the weekend!! Be blessed (to be a blessing). Did you hear about the man who died when the periodic table fell on him? The official cause of death was exposure to the elements.
Chance of rain this morning. We haven't had rain in about 10 days. Close to breaking a record for the most consecutive days in the 80's in September (11 back in 1961 - the last great climate change year...). Be blessed. Engineers are ambitiously lazy in that they design things to simply the work, multiply the work, or basically reduce the work needed to get the job done. With that in mind: If laziness was an Olympic sport, I would come in 4th just so I wouldn’t have to walk up to the podium.
