Hi,In Styler (6.0 M040 with APP) the SFE for IndexLocators_MainIndexhas a description saying "This element wraps the page numbers or otherlocators of an index entry".I was wondering what the significance of "other locators" was,since I'm trying to find a way to use non-page number index"locators", such as clause numbers.There doesn't seem to be any way to specify that you want anindex item to use something other than page numbers.Thanks,Richard Steadman

Once again, in one of my environments, I am migrating a 5.3 m110 Stylerstylesheet to 6.0 m010. I am now reading through the docs onpre54stylerupdate. Can anyone share observations, advice, gotchas, etc.with respect to using this utility?If I have a stylersheet that is very heavily laden with edited source, isrunning, not running pre54stylerupdate really a Morton's Fork?-- Paul Nagai

Hi,More work on migrating our 5.3 m110 authoring environments to 6.0 m010. Ijust got this:On opening an XML instance in one of my environments, the Arbortext EditorDebug Messages window opens and says: agettext: Msgid not found in message file: Warning conrule literalcontains a reference to an entity not declared in the FOSI. Literal is: "%s". Conrule will becompiled under the assumption that the reference will resolve using the instance subsetand DTD at composition time.Of course I can't find the string %s anywhere in my FOSI let alone in aconrule.Did anyone run into this or something similar?Editor opens the FOSI without complaint and check completeness doesn't turnup any problems.-- Paul Nagai

Not sure if it was a windows, java, or acrobat update, but one of the ones today changed my file associations and icons (which I previously had all of my XML / SGML file associations and icons pointing to Arbortext). XML opened some microsoft xml edit window instead.So, I changed (at least) my XML file association back to Arbortext, but the icon is still some generic 'page' or something.My question is, short of reinstalling Arbortext, (happily running 6.0 build M010 with NO - repeat NO issues or problems), is there any other way or trick to reassociate the XML related files (and the icons) back to the Arbortext software family? I loathe the thought of having to reinstall the Arbortext, as (to me, a basic user in a standalone shop) that's just asking for aggravation.Thoughts? Thanks for reading.Bob WilliamsBristol RI, US

Hello all,This may be a tall order, but I have a question on column width measurement in Styler 6.0.We have a client that is upgraded from 5.3 to 6.0. All-in-all, the upgrade has had few issues. However, we have one issue where items are wrapping in tables in 6.0 where they did not in 5.3. Does anyone have a theory as to what may be causing the differences in column width?The stylesheet uses CALS tables. The widths are relative (ie. 0.88*). I know it is a jump from 5.3 to 6.0. Has anyone else seen similar?

Folks, I've been doing a fair amount of research on this and it seems I have one problem that may keep me in the DTD world a bit longer. Our DTD has several large referenced files containing general ENTITY replacement text (if anyone has ever parsed the 40051 DTD with 'dtgen' they have encountered those files. You normally will get several 'litlen' errors.) This replacement text contains markup, references to other editable ENTITIES and the text is generic required stuff the authors really don't need to redo for every TM. My question is this (and I think I already know the answer BUT thought I'd toss it out for verification), can I call those files from a schema? My searches to date have said NO. 😞If I cannot call those files, then converting to a schema won't work. Many thanks.Lynn

I'm running Arbortext 6 with a custom directory which contains an Init.js in the ../custom/init directory. This JScript uses Acl.execute to execute ACL commands during the Arbortext Editor initialization. Now with the previous version it worked just fine, but since I updated to Arbortext 6, the Acl object doesn't seem to be resolved in the JScript anymore. I receive script errors now and thus y custom Arbortext won't load properly.Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be or where I might look? I spent quite some time already tracking down the issue and am pretty certain that the Acl object not being resolved is the problem.Thanks for your help!

While importing CGM's the tabs/spacing are either deleted completly or changed. Fix ?

Hello Adepters,I have a Styler stylesheet (using the FOSI engine) in 5.2M020 and 5.4M070 which does not properly split a row onto the next page if the content within an entry is longer than the length of the page. This issue occurs with all types of content allowed in the entry including lists and paragraphs, so it does not seem to be keeps related to those elements. Any recommendations on fixing this issue in Styler? I have not seen any keeps settings for the table, tgroup, row, and entry that might cause the page overset fault; basically keep settings for previous, next, and together are set to off.Row:* Blocko widow count=any numbero orphan count=any number* Keep:o Together priority=offo With Next priority=offo With Previous priority=offo scope in same columnThank you,Bryan

Hello: We are new to Arbortext and I'm wondering if it can recognize a clipping mask within an eps file. Example: If I have standards that say a graphic is restricted to a particular size and the author uses a clipping mask within illustrator to generate a portion of a larger picture,does Arbortext recognize that and only show the clip itself?Tim

Hello adepters,I am using a FOSI for a bilingual print publication.For section titles, I have an e-i-c with a style set of sect1-title which bolds the text and also contains usetext which adds a colon 'after' the text.There is an attribute rule on title which adds underlining if the <section role="dosage">.There is another attribute rule on title which adds a space after the title text, and before the colon, if the language on the parent element is French. The usetext source is simply \\.The problem I am encountering is that for French titles with section role=dosage, the space is appearing but it is getting the underlining as well. Is there any way to stop the underlining from appearing beneath the space? Hi,I would like to make links froma text in one DITA topic into a target text in another DITA topic.If both topics are collected into a DITA Map, links are working well, of couse.But after I publish complete DITA mapinto a PDF, I get alarge book about 200Mb in size. So more preferable to have few DITA Topics, whichhave been published into PDF separately into small PDF books. But links doesn't work from one PDF into another PDF file in such case. Is it possible to create cross-reference links between separate PDF files? Probably Adobe API is needed?Any suggestion is usefull.Alexander Neder,PTS

How do you prevent conrefs from updating automatically when the source topic is revised or updated?I would like to use content references for Standard Warning Text but I don't want the generated text in the conrefs to automatically update when the source element is updated.

Hi All,I don't know ACL (can barely spell it) - but I need to know of a simple way of extracting a list of all of the graphic entities in use in my XML doc (as what I'm really trying to do is to both eliminate / delete unused graphic entities, as well as eliminate / delete graphics that I'm not using in my current XML doc.)I can see them in the Arbortext Graphic Entities ('Count Uses') Dialog box, but I don't know how to dump them out to a text file, .csv, .xls or whatever - some format that I can rack and stack them in.It's a military XML tech manual (LOGSA MIL-STD 40051-2 chg 3, ASRL Construct 3.27, Stylesheet Fileset V1.8)I know one of you gurus can pass me a simple ACL command line whoozit to dump the list of used/unused graphic entities.Barring that, I'm relegated to screenshotting and OCRing a gazillion pages of the Arbortext Graphic Entities Dialog box ('Count Uses'), in order to rack and stack the list of 1500 plus graphic files to eliminate some 500+ of them that I don't need

Hi there, I am trying to use the customized style sheet that we had created for us to do our operators manuals to also create a parts catalog. My issue is that I am wanting my graphic to always show up on the even page so the graphic to text will always be side by side. I cannot figure out what setting I should change in my stylesheet. I have added each topic to my ditamap at the chapter level.In styler under element I have changed my chapter, breaks, start new to "even". That did not fix it.Is this where I should be thinking about modifiying this setting?Thanks,Bryon

Hi *,we want to use the Arbortext ActiveX in an C# App. We can open the xml files, edit and save the changes, but we have some problems with customizing.Could you say me whether next action are possible:1) creating of new toolbars?2) setting the toolbar-buttons to unvisible?3) drag-n-drop of graphics in the xml-file? I want to check the first character of a #CONTENT savetext for a parenthesis "(" and if it exists, strip it out.an xpath condition test starts-with(self::text(), '(') didn't work.And these didn't work in a conrule:substring(#CONTENT,2) or substr(#CONTENT,2)Can you put an XPATH expression in a conrule?(Styler 5.3)Thanks!

I am using AT Styler (APP Engine) for the PDF output. I would like to add grey shaded background for the table header rows.For this i created Property set (i.e. copied the default "box" and modfied as "shade")> I added the APP Source edit with the "fill color". It is not worked out. Also it's throwing composition error. I have attached the Event Log.xml.Could any one help me on this.Is the APP Source Edit for Property set is OK? or any other method in Styler was there to modify the background color of header row.
