Finally traced down my seemingly intermittent disappearing graphic issue.Set pegraphicpi=on solves MOST of my problems in lost graphics when composing on the PE.What I've learned is that it does not set a pi if a graphic is not, well, called a graphic. Is there any place I can add the other Army 40051 tags to get graphic pi's to be sent to the PE? We have icons, symbols, all sorts of graphics that simply are not called <graphic>. To make things a bit worse, the Army calls the graphic source "boardno" - I guess that makes it simpler because all graphics have that terminology with this DTD, but it is not the same terminology as Arbortext. This is maddening. If I put all the graphics on the server, I can't reference them with the server's name (\\myserver\graphics) but have to use a drive letter (in this case J:). But to the server, J: isn't really real and gets ignored because the server is run from the main admin account (or something like that). Without the PI, just saying "fire.b
Has anyone sucessfully created a template for 11x17 foldouts using XSL FO?Through the use of an attribute I'm able to switch between different pagemasters and get the sizing that I want however when it switches back to the 8.5x11 it resets page number back to one. I know that it is because I have my initial page number set to 1 on my chapter template so when it goes back to that page set it resets it to 1. Is there a way to make the initial page number attribute conditional or is there a better way to switch page sizes within a section? Here is a snippet of my Chapter template:<xsl:template<font color="#ff0000"> match="imm:mmchapter">imm:mmchapter <fo:page-sequence master-reference="master" initial-page-number="1"><fo:flow flow-name="body"><fo:block xsl:use-attribute-sets="headfoot top" text-align="center" font-size="14pt" space-after="10pt" padding-top="20pt" break-before="odd-page" id="{@id}">CHAPTER<xsl:value-of select="@chapnbr"/>fo:block><
Greetings, Arbortext fans...Sure to be a highlight of the Arbortext track at this year's PTC/UserConference, the "Arbortext Formatter Shootout" will feature a panel ofexperts, including Gareth Oakes (APP), Suzanne Napoleon (FOSI) andyours truly (XSL-FO), providing overviews and answering questionsabout the three main formatting technologies in the Arbortext productline. My friend and colleague, Eric Flynn, has bravely stepped up tomoderate the session. (Or... referee the battle royal!)The goal of the session is to provide knowledge and insight on therelative merits of the various technologies. While this will likelybe particularly valuable for the Advanced Print Publisher (APP)technology, which is generally little-known to much of the Arbortextcommunity, it has been my experience that there's almost always somenew tips and tricks to be learned, even about technologies that youthought you knew inside and out. But, we need your help! While the intent of the session is to takeaudience ques
I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by requesting help here but this issue has been on going. Our company doesn't have the funding for support hence the posting here:) My user had a computer go bad so we switched over to a new system and sent the new host ID in for a new license file. I load the IsoDraw program which asked for the new license file. I directed the program to the file and now when I run the program I get the following error &quot;License request failed for feature Iso Draw&quot; Any help here greatly be appreciated!
I'm playing with some changes to the 40051 FO that we're working for LOGSA. Trying to get an output from Epic. I've had it work previously, but now I am getting the following error."Java method endDocument has thrown and exception."Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this? I don't get past the 'transforming document...' in the message bar. Many thanks.Lynn

Thanks John that worked.
First off I wanted to thank whoever it was that posted the instructions out on Adepters for this problem. They were clear and concise. Unfortunately it doesn't work for 5.4. Unless I am missing a piece of the puzzle, the files will initially disappear but when you relaunch the product the reappear. Any suggestions? Has anyone else had a problem with this? I don't want to start a ticket if someone else already has.Sindy YoungAWACS Tools and Technology Team,(253) 657-6964Kent, WA 98032
Can one get a demo to try this setup out, or is the only way through authorized resellers/consultants?
Hello Adepters,Is there any way to save to disk that output that usually goes to the java console? Arbortext help says "If the Java Console is closed, output will be discarded on Windows and sent to stdout on UNIX." Unfortunately, I'm on Windows. As a practical matter, we use a wrapper function around all of our Java print statements, so I could manually write everything to disk there. But I also want to capture the output from any exceptions that occur, which would require a more general capturing of system.out and system.err, I would think.Thanks,-James
Hello,Does anyone know if the quality of rendition when creating HTML ofmathematical equations can be changed (improved!), and if so, how?Otherwise, does anyone know of a conversion tool from the Arbortextequation editor to MathML. I know the DesignScience MathFlow Editor, butas far as I know, they don't offer a conversion tool. Thanks in advance,HansHans-Joachim Bigalke
Ok, I am using Epic 5.3 with styler on an S1000D document. I am trying to do an internal cross reference from one element to another. Doing it the way the documentation says to do it, sorta kinda gets me what I want.[cid:image003.png@01CADD59.01C5AB80][cid:image001.png@01CADD58.D30AEE90]The problem is I cant get it to pick up the enumeration automatically and if I try to manually to type it in, this is what happens.....[cid:image002.png@01CADD58.D30AEE90] It places the typed text between my generated text, Any IDEAS?Sindy YoungAWACS Tools and Technology Team,(253) 657-6964Kent, WA 98032
From what I have read I should be able to put an Isodraw graphic directly into Arbortext. I try, the graphic symbol shows up but the actual graphic does not show up. When I double click on the graphic symbol it opens up the correct drawing in Isodraw. Why can't the graphic be seen in the Arbortext document? (Yes I have the view graphics option checked, that is not the issue.)
Looking for help on getting change bars to show in a pdf.
PTC wants to know what topics you're interested in discussiong for theupcoming Arbortext Technical Committee meetings in June:
I have mentioned a couple of times in the past that, for a while now, my posts have not been emailed back to me by the adepters list. After several months of this, my keen eye finally noticed that when somebody else replies to one of my postings, the From: line reads "From: -<">mailto:-> [mailto: -<]">mailto:->] On Behalf Of Benton, Ed L.I can't help but think that the appearance of -<">mailto:-> instead of -<">mailto:-> must have something to do with this, but I have no idea how to fix this. Does anyone else know, or know someone to whom I could address this question?
Hello,In AT styler I want to change the language that reads "Forced Page Break" for start of new pages. Any specific way to do this?Karthik
We use a lot of 3d data from IGES files and they create a &quot;Border&quot; line type for internal surfaces. We keep some of these but most of them want deleting and I'm trying to do a macro that allows you to select an area on a drawing and delete the &quot;Border&quot; linetype within that area. The macro is just this: Subselect if Pen is equal to 'Border' Delete selection Select none You would think that when the selection arrow is set to (+) (i.e. selection within groups), it would delete all the border lines within the selected area. But if a grouped item is wholly within the selected area (you can tell this because the selection shows it as 1 item rather than individual lines), then it does not delete the border lines within that group - it only does it for partially selected groups. How do I make it work globally on the selected area regardless of whether a group is wholly or partially selected?
Is it possible to take the value of an attribute and use thatset the initial value of a counter? If so can you point me in the right code direction??!!Thanks in advance for your help.Sarah Copley
Hello again . Sinceit went so good last time, I'm inventing new problems to solve. Joking, the company in the current project is doing that . The problem stats as follows. Within XML Documents we have a dialog that appears on the right click, the contained menu entries are calling the extensions that I am currently working on. As the menu entries can be valid or invalid ( one extension works on a subtree starting with LIST, the other one does not work on lists, for example. ) I have the task to find a way to make the menu entries greyed out my the currently marked content in the document. So far the plan for battle. I know how to get the currently marked selection, or the point where the cursor resides, I have found out how to enable and disable the entries in the EditPopup-menu, and I have an idea how to model the logic for deciding which menu item can be active on which selection. Just one part is missing. In order to process all that, I need an event, and I thoughtabout catching t

When publishing a DITA map and using the SMA stylesheet there is a blank page inserted after the front cover title sheet. Is there anyway to prevent the blank page?
