Hello Adepters,This isn't strictly Arbortext-related, but since many of you also work with XSLT, I wanted to point out a new release of XSpec, an open-source unit test framework for XSLT and XQuery, that I've been helping out a bit with. It's hosted at
Hello Adepters,Is there a simple command to programmatically expand/collapse divisions? Specifically, I'm trying to set up Arbortext so that whenever a document of a certain doctype is opened, certain divisions are displayed as collapsed content.I found the "detail" command, but I can't get it to do what I want. Will I just need to loop over elements and collapse them individually in ACL?Thanks,-James
Peter,Did you work with Chris Western @ tformat ? They just put on a 3b2user meeting last week. I think it would be great if you all couldbring the whole "Arbortext" line together under one meeting.Liz

Hi Adepters,If margins in a page set are set to 1" right and left, what could cause the output to behave differently? The left margin is less than an inch and the right margin displays as more than an inch. We're using a table to build a front cover with these right and left 1"margins. The margins are just the beginning of a whole host of very specific measurements that are wacky in the output. i.e., we need a column that is 4.4", and have to set it in Styler to 4.62" to have it print correctly. The 'conversion' doesn't appear to be consistent.Has anyone seen similar behavior?Best,Anne
Hi I've joined the PTC forum newly. I've a requirement to add the unit convertor in Isodraw. Is this can be done in Isodraw? Can anyone help on this?
Please excuse my lack of knowledge of this product. I have just been tasked to install and learn. Arbortext. It is a first time use for me. I look forward to learning this but I have a few questions regarding the various extentions used with the product. 1. Can I assume the .rpt is a report output? I know this sounds really simple, but the application has not been setup on my machine yet and my supervison is asking me details they can pass on to their customer. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks

Perhaps you are one of those who has been lulled into a false sense of stability by doing the same thing, the same way you always have, and using the same ‘ole tools. Hi All, I am interested in organising the "Arbortext 'Classic' User Group Meeting in the UK" as we haven't had one for quite a while and things have moved on a bit in regards to technology and PTC/Arbortext as an organisation. This email is an early warning of the intention to organise this and a call for ideas of what people would find useful and interesting in terms of logistics and content, e.g. When should we do it? Where should we do it? How long should it last? What should be the focus? Which guest speakers should we invite? All suggestions and ideas welcome. Editor v5.3 has suddenly stopped opening; Architect and Styler as well. Keeps trying to open .xsd, which we don't use, and won't let me browse to correct DTD. Nothing works to resolve this - not new install, even with all v5.3.0... removed from 'regedit.' Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions?
Hello, I need to install the M032 patch for Arbortext Editor 5.3. Does anyone know where I can download this from ? Regards, Andy Leslie
It's been brought to my attention a particular problem with the PDF documents I create from Arbortext v9.1. Accented characters are not searchable in the PDF documents (é, è, ç, et cetera). Are there output settings that I can modify or adjust and then test? Has anyone else come across this problem?
I had an evaluation copy of Editor and Architect (along with a lot of other editors) a few years ago at the start of my PhD research on the usability of XML editors. I now need to run my test harness on the same set of software as a final update, to ensure I am not misrepresenting any product, but I am unable to download a second evaluation copy (error message says "You have entered an invalid product code" although there was nowhere to enter any code). It advises me to use www.ptc.com/olm/contacts.htm but all the phone numbers given for non-US users (me) are the same number (!) and all of them are unobtainable because they are 0-800 numbers which cannot be dialled from another country (and my local one for Ireland is invalid). I managed to get a number for the Munich support centre, but they are either permanently busy or the ringing times out. Is there an email address I can contact someone in PTC on for this enquiry? I am facing problem with validation of ISODRAW as it is required for some certification. Please can any one help me by informing validation method for validation of ISODRAW

Ed, No joy. Cleared .aptcache on my machine, and the temp folder referenced in the error messages on the PE server.Steve Thompson +1(316)977-0515
I don't know about PE, but sometimes with Print Composer, we would get strange error messages when the .aptcache folder got too big. Deleting everything in the .aptcache folder would often fix this. This was a few years ago, with older PC's, so it might not be a problem today.Just a shot in the dark.
Anyone recognize this and/or know what's actually wrong?(Text from Composer Log dialog. Typed, not pasted, since that would get all the tagging, too)Compose JDF_FIM_...-chk.xml for pdf.ERRORError response from e3: message='Failed to open document 'C:\WINNT\TEMP\e3temp_...\x20.xml' with flags '636' using stylesheet '(null)'.Exception error = '[A15000] Unable to load document type due to errors parsing DTD: "C:\Program Files\Arbortext\PE\custom\doctypes\fim\fim.dtd".
