After I drag the CP folder into the Arbortext Editor application folder, I see the "Change" Menu as well as Change Page Help menus in Arbortext. However when I go to "create basic document" in the Change menu I receive an error message. Do I need to run a license manager? Do I drag some license info somewhere?

Did anyone have an issue with PDF Bookmarks being truncated? It seems to max out around 63 characters or so. (FOSI, AE version 5.4)

HEADS UP! Mail Headers have been changed! I do not think they are back tothe way they were before (but I could be wrong). I replied to Caroline'semail yesterday, but did not pay attention to the headers and accidentallysent the reply JUST to her.Now the default reply-to is the sender, not the list. Frankly, I prefer thereply-to, on mailing lists, to be to the list, although I do like to beable to discern and reply-to the original sender only/instead becausesometimes should just be off-list. We are currently using Editor 5.4 M170 and are testing Editor 6.1 M010. We're seeing problems with vertical alignment in nearly all footers of our document DTD/FOSIs. Does anyone know of any setting or option in 6.1 that might be causing this? Or better yet, a method of fixing it that would be better than having to tinker with every page layout. I am trying to add a notation to the CSDB and for some reason once I go through the Entity Options in the CSDB and try to add it, that notation is not showing up. I dont know what I am doing wrong but I really need some help with this if anyone can help out. Hi,I've got a customization in one environment that manages bookmarksautomatically. I've cloned this environment serially several times withoutincident. Now, I'm having a problem in the latest clone that I'm thoroughlystumped by. Hopefully in the morning all will be clear to me, however, ifI'm still in a fog, I'm hoping someone has stumbled across this before andcan wake me up.In my slightly older environment that works, I can issue this command withthe cursor in a title:insert_tag "_bookmark"And is inserted. This is the behavior I expect and havebeen getting for oh so long.In my new environment, no processing instruction is inserted and the errorin my subject line is displayed.Anyone see the obvious? We use WordML documents extensively here in our office and our running into some issues copy-pasting into the new AT 6.1 version.When copy-pasting bold/italic text (WordML), we get this error window complaining that it goes against our schema and its an "Invalid Paste Structure":This wasn't an issue when we were on the older 5.3 a week earlier. Is there a preference I can change to where this window won't pop up?

I am bumping up against an error from Arbortext 5.4 M100 "[A12177] Out of virtual memory space", recommending I increase my paging file size, and abruptly closing when I try to open a particularly large document (this is a document made of chapter file entities, which are themselves a chapter tag and several file entities). The doc is about 10Mb (flattened), and my PC has 4Gb RAMIf I reduce the number of chapter file entities by half in the main document, and then add them back in manually, this works, but then throws the same error when trying to compose.I have my windows 7 paging file settings at initially 4Gb, max of 8GB. I have an APTJAVAVMARGS=1024Mb and set javavmmemory=1024.I am running out of ideas of how to even troubleshoot this, and I really need to try and compose the whole document for hyperlink preservations.Thanks!Jason A. I suppose it's some sort of privacy thing, but the Adepters posts used to always include the individual email address of the sender. Now they don't. I didn't notice when this stopped, so it may have happened quite some time ago.It any case, it would be useful if the Adepters posts would go back to displaying this data. I understand that if lawyers have gotten involved in this, that any change of this nature would most likely be prohibited, if not take thousands of years.On the off chance that maybe it's a setting I could change, does anyone know anything about this?

I'm just doing a little macro to create a layer, add items to it, then move it down below the standard layer so that standard layer items appear on top of the new layer items.I know I can select the layer manually in the layer window and move it up and down, but I can't see a way to do the same thing within a macro, so my new layer stays at the top - have I missed something or is this another thing you can't do with macros?

Another problem we're encountering is an error message in regards to our dates. Whenever we open our document or change attributes with it, we see the following error message: I've entered our dates in several different ways (05202014, 20140520, etc.) but it keeps generating this message. Additionally, if I enter the date with slashes or hyphens (05/20/2014, 05-20-2014) it says that it is an invalid format and will not fill in the required attribute field at all. If anyone has seen or solved this problem please let me know. Thanks!

I'm currently running into issues installing a floating-license for Styler 6.1Our goal is to put this floating-license on a server. I'm having difficulty following the instructions here though to request one: https://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS34725&source=portalrecommended.On the request license page, which values do I need to put in for PTC Host Id and Host Name? Do I need to put the server address or Host ID for the field "PTC HOST ID"? Then what do I need for Host Name?Also, is there any software I need to install on the VM to get the licensing to work? I know the older 5.4 had Arbortext Licensing Administrator.

Hi all,Someone knows how can I change the default language in Arbortext Editor?I know how to change it using the styler, but without styler, I mean, using only the Editor I haven't found where.

We are using Arbortext V5.3 M130 under Windows 7. For some of our users, arbortext freezes when attempting to Modify Attributes. We have attempted the same action on other users PC with the same file and have been successful in Modifying Attributes.Can anyone offer advice.

I can export a reference topic as HTML that contains an embedded video from a video hosting site called Brightcove. The player shows up when I open the HTM file in Internet Explorer but does not open in Google Chrome.Has anyone else had an embedded object only display in Internet Explorer and not Google Chrome? Would love to figure out how to get the player to display in Google Chrome.Thanks,

Hi,We currently use Editor and Print Composer to produce print and PDF manuals. I'm being asked about change page capability for an upcoming RFQ and what we might need to support that. Would that be DTD and style sheet dependent only or do we need another product completely?I've looked at the PTC product pages and have to admit I'm not sure what the differences are between PE and APP. I can see that APP comes in desktop and enterprise flavors. But I also don't see anything about change page capability on either product.I was hoping maybe someone on the forum could point me to a good comparison chart or perhaps share a little insight on the differences if you have experience with them.Thanks,KM

Apologies for my laziness (slogging through endless PTC marketing pages really tiresome and less than fruitful result).. but does anyone (or a PTC Arbortext sales channel person - or link to the same - monitoring this forum), know what the current cost per seat is forArbortext Editor Standalone (6.0 / 6.1?) with and without Print Composer?We are small shop, two seats currently, needing to add 1-3 more (depending on cost). We do military TMs (almost exclusively) with gov't provided DTDs and stylesheet sets, requiring PDFs as part of the deliverable file set with each project).The PTC Arbortext server/content manager/print server cost is stratospheric for us - hence we work standalone.We are also exploring alternatives like Oxygen-Antenna House, JEdit, and XMLSpy for lower cost ancillary editing stations. I'm also really interested in what small shop hi-low cost mix workstations folks here have come up with.Thanks in advance for all reads and replies.RegardsBristol RI, US
