Can you create visible areas of views with shapes, or datums, or does it have to be splines?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.4.0

Is there a better way to create a visible area on a view using shapes, or datum planes rather than just using splines that you have to free hand draw?

Another question I have, is when drawing with splines, can you create a hard, one point turn if you're trying to create a square for example?

Unless things have changed recently, splines are the only option.

The longer the distance between Pt1, Pt2(the "corner"), & Pt3 the sharper it will be, but you cannot get to a square corner.
