Importing PMI data from STEP AP 242/Siemens NX

Hello,

 

we're not yet a customer of Vuforia Studio but are interested in using it for viewing processing instructions for parts in AR. These instructions differ for every part and are going to be created in the PMI module of Siemens NX and could be exported as a STEP AP 242 file.

So what we would like to know is whether it is possible to import the PMI data and generate an AR scene with little manual work needed.

    Hello SeeSharp,

     

    Vuforia Studio doesn't support Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) of Siemens NX.
    It is the same with 3D Annotations from Creo Parametric.

    It might be possible to create an export with a custom plugin of these PMI data from Siemens NX in json format.
    In Vuforia Studio, import this json file and create a Javascript program to read it and to create 3D Labels to display them in AR Experience.
