Question

Email all users in Windchill Group or Windchill Organization

Greetings

According to article CS279763  it is not possible to email all users in Windchill Group or Windchill Organization in Windchill PDMLink. I really would love to do this to warn folks that there is an upcoming outage, or perhaps some other important news.

Has anyone here come up with a work around, or a clever method to send an email to their users in a specific group?

Hi James,

we are using a different way to notify all Windchill users with a banner they can see on all pages.

Take a look at these discussions:

@Marco_Tosin  That's a really good idea, but since we are a Cloud system, not certain it will work for us.  We do, however have banners on our Test systems.  Thanks!!

Another option / workaround is to create a report that lists all the users with their email addresses and other information.  You can export that to an Excel Spreadsheet and manipulate it there.

I use this method to warn all users of upcoming server maintenance downtimes and other general announcements.  Only downside is that it doesn't contain group membership information.

Hi @mdebower

I was hoping that would not be the answer, but from what I've read and what I'm seeing here, I think it is.  🙂

Oh well, all I would have to do is export the list (I've already got the report generator), then create a Windchill Users group in my email.  That shouldn't take....very...long....  😞
