I don't know if this is the right way, but since this group is growing, maybe we could work on this document to insert useful resource for reporting.

 

I leave the document open, so everyone can add other useful things.

At the end of this document you can download a presentation (from Rebecca French of PTC Global Services)

It's very very old (Windchill 6.2), but it could be still useful for people who wants to take the first steps in the world of reporting.

      Hi,

      I have a requirement as follows

      1. There are 2 document objects used in windchill (say Doc1 and Doc2). Doc2 can be created only when there is Doc1 (i.e. Doc2 can be created from details page of Doc1, The Doc1 number will be added as an attribute value in Doc2)

      2. I wanted to create a report such that the output should show the value of Doc1 number and Doc2 number but with the condition that the Doc1 number should be in output even though Doc2 is not created.

      Any suggestions would be helpful.

      thanks for your comment, but at the moment I cannot modify the link because of the limitation of the new site.

      As you can read on it, I'm working to divide my original document in more documents, because of the limit of 20,000 characters.

       

      I'm also verifying all the links, removing those that are broken and correcting the others that were changed when there was the two big migrations in the past.

       

      Obviously this in not my main job, so it will take a while to verify hundreds of links and write the new documents.

        I have imported Single level BOM report https://www.ptc.com/it/support/article/CS000072503 which shows occurences and their reference designators as own results. Instead of this I would only like to have BOM lines (without occurences) and have Reference designator range (Same as available in product structure browser, e.g. "C1-C5,C8")  as column but I can't find the reference designator range as attribute from the reportable item: wt.part.WTPartUsageLink. Does anyone know how to show the reference designator range in single level BOM report?

        I am able to get Reference designator from Part Uses occurence (like mentioned in the linked article) but in this case each reference designator is shown as separate row. I want to have results where all reference designators with the same child part number/line number are listed in same row

         

        Current result when I use Part uses occurence and Uses Name:
