I am having a problem with my underline element in that it is not underlining the hyphen if a word gets hyphenated at the end of a line. I know the scorespc="1" in this snippet <highlt scoring="1" scorespc="1" scorestyle="single"/"> makes the spaces and commas in underlined text be underlined as well as the actual text but is there any way to get the hyphen to be underlined as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a need for knowing when a user clicks mousedown over the graphic being displayed. I have used config events to enable mouse events I understand I need a callback function of MouseDown(Button, Shift, x, y). I am not at all sure how to tell isoview where my callback function can be found. I have not been able to connect all the dots to make it work. Can anyone send me some code examples of how they did it ? Thankyou.
Hi, Does anyone know what the pixel dimensions are (L x W) for a Logotype inthe header of an S1000D document? I took a look in the spec but itdoesn't seem to mention it anywhere apart from a vague reference to a 32mm or 50 mm width in the header, Chap 6.2.1. Graphics can apparently bea minimum of 300 dpi. Hi,I need to query Arbortext Editor (here: 5.4 MR020) for a list of all open files. Has anyone done this before and can tell me how this can be done?I already tried to use getDocuments of the Application object (which always returns 4 documents of whom only one is an opened file or stylesheet, regardless how many documents are currently open) and getNextSibling/getPreviousSibling on the result of the getActiveWindow method of the Application object (which returns no siblings at all).*Thanks in advance and best regards,Mathias Harbeck*: I use a COM2Java-Bridge, so the actual methods, properties etc. of the COM interface might be slightly different.
Would it be possible to do the following ?When I open a iso file the object list contains the following name values for the object for example: Bn0001_prt or Bn0333_asm1. Remove all values starting from the underscore in the name attribute ?2. The Object list may contain 200 objects3. Change the Object Type attribute for all objects to part and then import Object info for the objects in the list from a fileFor examle:Import data from a text file that contains the followingName Quantity RemarksBn0001 2 N/ABn0333 1 N/A Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is a bit of a goofy question, but does anyone know what portnumber is in use when Arbortext reads or writes files from a regular(non-HTTP/WebDAV) file system? Trying some exception testing with Riverbed, and the admin asked mewhich specific port is being used when Arbortext does read/writeoperations. Thanks, -Jason A. Buss
It's become clearer I need Styler for some of the work I'm doing (create new doctypes, support some existing ACL connected to existing doctypes, offline composition for this development, etc.) so I just downloaded / installed it after uninstalling Editor. But, I became aware we have a license available to me for Architect. But, what is Architect? Specifically:What can I do with Architect I can't do with Styler?; and,What
Looking back at some of my older macros I see that in several of them I change things in Isodraw to suit the macro but once the macro is finished, the changed attributes remain, they are not put back to their former state. For example I have one that adds text to a drawing and sets:Text size 7Text align base_line rightDoing this of course leaves the text size at 7 and text align at base_line right regardless of what they were before the macro was run. What should really be done is to make a variable of the existing text size and alignment settings, so that they can be set back as they were at the end of the macro.Trouble is I don't know how to extract these values. I'm sure there should be a way, but I can't find it in Macro help.
We recently upgraded to Arbortext 5.4m80 from 5.3 at our site, and the biggest source of consternation seems to be the handling of EPS graphics in the Editor window. In 5.3, Arbortext just displayed the EPS graphic's preview image, but 5.4 tries to render the PostScript on screen. This would be a good thing, except many of EPS files make use of referenced fonts (like "Symbol"), which aren't available in Arbortext's little PostScript environment, and with the fonts missing the display of these graphics on screen is poor. I'm told the same problem affects output from Arbortext's Preview command.Have others run into this too? PTC says to incorporate the missing fonts into the EPS graphics, but that may not be feasible. I'd settle for an option to go back to the EPS preview image, like in 5.3. Any ideas for working around this problem? (Admittedly this is only an issue for screen display in the Editor; generated PDF output is fine.)
My first foray into ACL today. What are some good ways to log diagnostic messages from ACL (i.e., something like a "logger" facility, etc.) - either appending list entries into an open diagnostic window (preferred), or to a log file?"response" and "message" just don't seem to cut it.
Hi,We have a business requirement to export documents from Arbortext 5.4 M020 directly into MS Word format. What is the best we can do for this? From what I've read, export to MS Word from Arbortext is only supported via RTF, taking care to use special "Word fields", "styles", "instructions" and/or stylesheets. And, even then, the Arbortext Styler Guide& Help files suggest there are plenty of limitations and "gotchas" lurking along this path. One of our "power" users suggests she has used elsewhere a feature / add-on to EPIC / Editor that can be used to directly export to, or compose into, a Microsoft Word (i.e., ".doc") format. Does this sound familiar to anyone? What is she talking about? She can't remember the feature, but believes it may be a separately-licensed add-on.Any tips or leads will be carefully followed up!Regards,-- Marty
I have made changes to the SMA stylesheet header (i.e. added logo and chapter information). I applied these changes to "ChapterPage Set Even/Odd pages".When I publish my SMA map to PDF, the header information shows up on every page except for the top level (chapter) pages. If I demote the chapter elements down a level the header information displays. How do I get the header information to show up on the top level (chapter) pages?
You can also go to Tools-Preferences and select the "View" category and the check the "Graphics as Icons" checkbox.
I'm trying to add a new item under the Help menu that will open an HTM file.I know that Arbortext has a built in view_pdf function and when I call it it does open the .htm file that I need within the web browser. However, I was wondering if there was a built-in view_htm or view_html function? Thanks in advance for your response.
Additionally:"local custom" means custom folder is located on user's C drive."network custom" means it is stored on a network share. Our configuration includes Dynamic Link Manager (DLM) to which we autologinon document load.
Hi Gang,I was curious if it is possible to customize portions of Isodraw? I would like to change some of the file menus, for example in text I would like to add the selection for "8pt" as a standard selection. This way I do not have to select other and then input 8 to that dialog box.Is there a way to customize these menus? Are there any manuals available for the customization of IsoDraw? It really would make this software much more productive if things could be adjusted to meet the needs of each user. Thanks for any help,Keith
I would like to edit the default line styles to add more line styles that are available to all graphics. Currently I have to create the line styles with each new drawing, is there a way to edit the line styles to add more styles?I would also like to add different sizes and angles of the arrowheads available. I have not seen any information in any of the users manuals. Thanks,Keith
I'm being asked by an author what XML courses she could take to learn aboutwhat is going on behind the scenes. I had three answers:1) Take a DITA class. We don't use DITA but it is "hot" and would providenice examples of data modeling, reuse, inheritance, and many more goodconcepts to have when working behind the scenes in XML.2) Learn about all the things I don't support:
Hello,I was wondering if anyone here can shed some light on why the default behaviour of AE appears a little strange when creating new XML instances using an schema with fixed/required attributes.<xs:attribute name="tipo" type="tf:tipoAttribsNotes" fixed="Fred" use="required" />Problems being:It does not insert them automaticaly when 'insert markup' (like XML Spy or Oxygen!) even though they are the only valid value, and are required for the XML to be valid against the schema. The modify attributes menu lists all possible values of the attribute from the schema, instead of the only valid one you can insert in a particular context. The only apparent work-around (from support) ‘set writeunspecifiedattrs=fixed’ saves a required attributes populated and valid file ok, but does not refresh so you dont see the result until it is reopened!?Maybe i'm missing something, but any experiences and resolutions are most appreciated.RegardsChris
Hi Im a Qa person for illustrations in our concern.Using duplicate command is useful and easier while working. In some cases the illustrators duplicate the hole illustration.Selecting one one object and deleting is difficult. Can any macro could be developed for selecting duplicated objects alone. It would be really helpfull..................
We are using a custom font with Arbortext. For instance, there are characters that normally do not display on screen, such as thin space, en space, em space, non-breakable word space, optional line break. We have replaced the normal display of these character (empty spaces) with a visual representation of the character. For instance, we have replaced the en space for a character that is a caret (V) with the letter "m" superinposed. The character in the font is designated at the correct Unicode (Hex) value of 2003. This works. However, the Non-Breakable Word Space, Unicode (hex) value of 00A0, will not display, nor with it show up on the Insert/Symbol picker.Any ideas?
Hi all, we're using a Unicode font for display on screen. Some special characters are placed in the private use area, which is correctly defined for this font. Unfortunately Arbortext Editor doesn't show the glyphs on the screen but only little boxes. Can anyone help? Best regards, Ulrike.
I've been working with a couple of different FO implementations. When I run the FO in anything except Epic, I have few problems. Epic seems to add to any issues. In doing followup on some of the problems Epic gives me, I am finding that Epic is NOT following the FO standard in many cases. To me, this is unacceptable. How can one expect to really share information developed through other resources when Epic goes off on their own direction? One example (and I am not 100% sure I believe the standard is right, but it is what is there) is in tables (and yes, I agree with Ed that "Tables are the spawn of Satan"). The XSL standards (both 1.0 and 1.1) allow the 'table-body' to contain either (table-row+ | table-cell+). Not sure why I would have table cells without a row, but ... Anyway, I'm finding Epic DOES NOT allow this. The error states I MUST have a table-row wrapping my table-cell's, or processing STOPS with a Java error. The error is explained if one has the Java console open or if one k
Hi,We are currently testing "EPIC-5.4-M080".In the documentation we found that it is possible to use a "sitprefs.xml" and reference this file through the environment variable APTDEPLOYPATH.In the siteprefs.xml there is a part of the form:<environmentvariables> <variable name="" value=""/"></environmentvariables>We want to add as many as possible APT environment variables in this "siteprefs.xml" so every user has the same settings. However if we add the APTCATPATH variable, apparently EPIC doesn't catches it.If we add APTCATPATH outside this siteprefs.xml (where we define APTDEPLOYPATH) Epic finds the catalog. The weird thing is if it is set in siteprefs.xml and I run the following code on the Epic commandline:for ($a in $main::ENV) { if (match($a, "APT")) {$z=$z . "\n" . $a . "=" . $main::ENV["$a"]}} ;eval $z;unsetvar z;I see the APTCATPATH set but Epic can't find the DTD's.Any clue?Kind regards,Michiel
