Multiple, successive deletes are awkward with both the mouse and the delete key on the right side of the keyboard (sometimes not practical to select multiple times for one delete) - is it possible to designate a delete key on the left side of the keyboard?

How can I include the 'character fill' command in a macro?

Hope someone here can help.Just had a file through a couple of errors, because the @key values were "invalid". Turns out, they were too long. What?!?Anything over 72 characters causes the error. I'm hoping there's a setting we can 'set' to override this. That seems ridiculously short, when XML standards place no limit on an attribute's size. And I didn't find anything in searching the help(less) files. I have built a Java servlet, running in Tomcat 7 which reads an XML instance from a third party repository and sends a publishing request (PDF) to a PE SErver (v. 5.4). The PDF is streamed back to the client browser. This part is working just fine, what I can't figure out is how to send the graphics which are linked in the instance via an 'image' element with a URL attribute. I have tried writing the graphics to the file-system and re-linking them in teh servlet, but this didn't work. I have opened the resulting XML instance in Arbortext Editor 5.4 and published it successfully with graphics on the PE server. It seems that I'm missing something in passing the graphics or correctly linking them for transmission to the PE server. Has anyone had any success doing this?

This forum has been such a help to me implementing MIL-STD 40051C using Arbortext Editor 5.3 and Print Composer, I thought I would share a bug I found. I kept gettting errors with parsing of the v1.7 LOGSA XSL-FO when trying to use Print Composer but only in certain directories. I narrowed it down to my placement of a % sign in the folder name which of course ended up in the full path name when SAX would try to parse, throwing the error. So, if you run into this same problem, just remove the special character(s) from your directory structure and you should be able to generate a print preview.

Hi All,Recently we installed IsoDraw 7.1. I can see some clarity of art difference between this version and the older ones(7.0 Version). When you Zoom very deep the clarity goes to the poor. when the art is fitted into the window also, the clarity is not upto the mark. I have checked with the settings, but no faults can be found in our side. we tried reinstalling also, but it does not works. Is this thing happening in all 7.1 version's? How to avoid these kind of issues.Please help me in this regard,Without clarity i feel bad to work on it.Thanks n advance.Velu

I wanted to look at the document declaration and I remember doing it before by using the edit command. Adepters:We have some documentation that makes heavy use of equations. To date, our users been authoring them in Word and then doing screen caps for our published output (PDF and HTML). So, now they're interested in using an equation editor (MathML) directly and have looked a at least one third-party vendor who has Arbortext Editor and Publisher add-ons. We're using AE 5.4 M070 and are moving to PE 5.4 M070. Oh, and we are not DITA users (have our own custom schema).Just curious if anyone has gone this route and what your recommendations would be?Thanks,Dave HintzSiemens

I am experiencing a problem with how Arbortext alphabetizes index termswhen it comes to terms with numbers. Currently, our vitamin terms are being sorted like so: Vitamin B1Vitamin B12Vitamin B6 However, we need it to sort the terms like this: Vitamin B1Vitamin B6Vitamin B12 We are using Arbortext publishing engine and the index output isgenerated onscreen (i.e. it is not in a separate file). Is it possible to control the last rule on a page where a table breaksacross columns or pages? I have the following configurations:1) Table with no row separating rules but has rules around the frame. Hello Everybody,I administer Epic 5.3 and the editors in my company use change tracking a lot. The indexers use this to look at the amended documents.The problem is that when the indexers print out a large chunk of a file, the change tracking will be displayed in some parts of the file but not in others.Is this an Epic bug?Thanks,Ali Shah.

I've been plunking around with spelling today and believe I have observedthe following:Auto-correct word pairs:Documentation is incorrect regarding userdict controlling word pairs. JasonBuss reported this here a while back, I think. You can still customizeauto-correct by modifying autocorrect.xlf (found in the Editor installcustom/lib directory) manually. I copied autocorrect.xlf to my custom/libdirectory and edited it and got the behavior I expected. However, I deletedall the contents of my autocorrect.xlf except for my customizations hopingmy entries would be added to the autocorrect.xlf entries in the install treebut, no, when I did that, it overrode the entire file ... only myautocorrect pairs were found. When our drawings are converted to CGM's and brought into Word, the text at the top is often cut off slightly. We get round it by drawing a no line box round the drawing, slightly bigger than the geometry. I want to do a little macro to do this automatically, but I do not know how to find the points required. I need bottom left and top right of the geometry of the drawing. How do I retrieve these points?

HiCurrently we are working on some projects and have done almost 50 macros for our requirements. We have about 22 systems that have been installed with Isodraw 7. The problem is I have a set of icon (.ico) files, obviously 50 for the 50 macros. I have to link all these icons to the respective macros which has been divided into their respective applications. For example, macros related to mechanical engineering form a group and that of electrical form another group. The total number of groups is about 6 and all have been set as toolbars from the Window\Toolbars... menu. Now, what I want is, is there any command line reference guide where I can create a batch file to do all this so that I dont have to do this work for all the 22 systems. You know how difficult it would be to do it manually, and there are chances of mixing up with the macros and the icons. I'm getting some inconsistent results with boxing and I'm wondering ifanyone can shed some light. This relates to my previous question in termsof markup and psuedo elements in use, but is more specific to thisfeature.1) Is there anyway to control the width of a box?seems like short text gets a short box, but I would like to have aconsistent width that spans the column. I also have a situation where Ihave a long title and it doesn't seem to wrap this title. Call e3::convert to start a conversion to convert XML to PDF3. formatcontinuehook is called durring the conversion. I made a copy of the doc and save it into a file (1). And return 0.4. formatcompletehook is called when format complete. a) I set the saved file (1) as current document and do a layout::apply("layout::linenum()"); or compose_lnr(); to add line number information into this file. b). I do some post process to extract information I need and save to another file (2).I got pubtex.exe crash error in some of my files when run through this program. There is no extra error information for me to know what the problem is and it just crashed. In general I have the floats working on my figures but there are a coupleodd things I am puzzled over. In one case thefigure is more or less centered on the page - it takes maybe 3/4 of thespace. In another situation the figure is place at the bottom of the page.In this last case the figure only occupies less than 1/4.In the last case I'm playing with the sizing attributes on the graphic tagas it was setting too large. I need a macro event to trigger the "OK" from the print dialogue box. I wrote the following macro to print the viewports in a drawing, but I have to manually select the "OK" button each time the macro goes to print the active viewport. A bit of a pain since I have between 8-15 viewports per drawing when I print the .cgm drawings I produce. Attached is the code.
