I have been talking to a user today who has shown me a bunch of Lego models he created in Pro/ENGINEER for practicing while at university. I have seen many Lego items recently, not only here in PlanetPTC Community, but also other fun stuff, like the Buzz Lightyear model.So my question for today is: do you use Pro/ENGINEER in your spare time to create fun stuff? Solved the issue with a server reboot on both the Oracle and Windchill servers.We did have a power outage last night, but I thought both servers had been rebooted after power was restored.Thank you,Ben H. LoosliUSEC, INC.

We upgraded to WF4 yesterday and 1 user is having problems getting his workspace registered to WF.In WF3, I can get the server name and location entered, press Check, then select a workspace before it locks up.In WF4, pressing the Check locks him up.He has removed all files from his old workspaces and removed the workspaces. He has alsodeleted the .pdm9 folder that holds the workspaces in the OS.We are on Windchill 9 m050 and Wildfire 3-m170, WF4-m150.There are about 12 users who sucessfully did the upgrade. Just 1 that is giving us fits.

Do you know a good website to download 3D models of wood screws? It would be great to have a large selection of sizes and different heads.Thanks,Kevin

We just purchased Manikin & Manikin Analysis. I took the on-line course for manikin, but I can't find any documentation on either Manikin or Manikin Analysis.Help inside ProE doesn't return anything with "manikin" as the search. I don't know if it is just me, but I find that the maintaining a specific origin for the model to be difficult if I'm trying and that I can probably expect to see many models from the Creo Direct app to have arbitrary origins and that it really does not matter. This is a difficult issure for me to let go off as I have always (even coming from an AutoCAD background) liked to see a definitive origin.

Is there any way to import external analysis from Excel multi-sheet file to ProE?For example: I have Excel spreadsheet with 10 sheets and need to connect my model with sheet #5.When I tried ProE always connect with sheet#1.

Hi,Having spent several hours finding a way to do this, I hope this saves others some trouble....1) used 3D Slicer www.slicer.org to segment the MRI volumes. (There are tutorials for this. You need to make a label volume then convert it into a model.)2) saved the models as .stl files.For reasons unknown Pro/E student edition would not recognize the .stl files that originated from 3D Slicer.3) Load the .stl files in MeshLab http://sourceforge.net/projects/meshlab/ 4) Save the model as a .dxf file5) In Pro/E use Insert>Shared Data>From File to import the mesh as a facet feature.Elsewhere I have seen people talking about shrinkwrapping the 'facet feature' to create a solid in Pro/E.I hope this helps,Nick

Hello After the story of the hidden lines last week, here is my new challenge of the week :Displaying NotesFirst of all, the Annotation Element Display button is activated.Then, I do the Annotation Plane Definition with View > Annotation OrientationWhen I do Insert > Annotations > Notes and I try to place a note, ProEngineer simply does not display the note...If I try Insert > Annotations > Notes, then Show > All, the notes are not displayed.Is there a special command or option that allows to display the notes ?I use Pro Engineer Wildfire 4.0 Student Edition. Perhaps it is a limitation of the Student Edition, but I did not find any information about this.Thanks.Sylvain

After 2 weeks of using ProE Wildfire 5 I can say it's a disaster.This one is the feed back from users. I believe this program should be friendly,easy to use and if in wildfire 4 were some functions that worked, should work also in Wildfire 5.Doing these changes seems that PTC is not able to retest all the new changes and appears problems(bugs).Sincerly I don't know :I'm working for PTC or for the company with that I have the contract.Why after we pay a lot of money for the maintenance I have to call PTC and tell them that the program have some bugs that before didn't exist.CC

Hi to All!I've been trying to create some Web.Link stuff using html drop-down list with <select><option> tags. However I noticed that Pro/E:s internal embedded browser doesn't support movement with arroy keys. Also mouse scrolling within a select list is somehow disabled. Currently using WF4 + IE8. Mouse scrolling seems to work in previous WF3 version. Has anyone faced similar oddity? Maybe the arrow keys are reserved for something more meaningul task inside Pro, or could there be an option how they could be released? I have tested on external IE (+others) and arrow key navigation works very well.An example where arroy key navigation would be useful is to create Web.Link app with UI something similar to this:http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/scrollable/site-navigation.html(Try opening it inside and outside the Pro/E to see the diffence on navigation)Regards Tatu Puonti

Is there a system parameter for whatever the units of a model are set to?I am working on a large project that has some models are set to "Inch lbm Second (Pro/E Default)" and others to "Inch Pound Second (IPS).What I need, is to set a column in the modeltree that will display what are the units for each component.I know that material files can include a parameter for the units that can be displayed in the model tree, but I do not want to use it because many old parts do not have the correct materials assigned.There should be a system parameter that I could use.Thanks in advance,Ronnie Shand
