Regarding Measure Distance and picking the Projection Direction.I almost alwasy want my measure commands to show me x, y, and z (positive or negative) values.Usually I want the x,y,z values to be relative to the first coordinate system in the active model.I would really like to find a way to have ProE give me this command without all the back and forth picking on screen.I've tried mapkeys and it doesn't work from model to model, even when the coordinate system names are the same.Using mapkey pause and resume "works" except that it's the same number of mouse picks as doing the command manually.I am looking for a way to have 1 menu pick (or mapkey) that does:Measure Distance (Projection Direction) [pick the first csys on the model tree].
I have a Microsoft Presenter mouse for my laptop, and the middle mouse button behavior in ProE is driving me up the wall. Plus the 4th and 5th buttons are inconveniently placed for Shift-MMB and Ctrl-MMB actions.I'm looking for suggestions of a nice right-handed Bluetooth mouse for ProE use.Standard size rather than mini-mouseDavid HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-7496Lawrence Livermore National Lab7000 East Ave, L-362Livermore, CA 94550________________________________

Anyone know if mcadcentral is coming back? It's been down for a couple of days at least. I don't usually spend a lot of time there, but it's a handy resource for some general models occasionally.

I am looking for some information on what engineering software Tyco Electronics use? I think they are using Pro/E but what kind of PLM/PDM software are they using. Looks like we are being acquired my them and I would like to be prepared. Thanks,Paul
Looking back at my university years, there have been several things that I struggled with or thought I could never push them into my brain. Now, in my everyday job life, some of them I never need (phew), while some I am using daily and these suddenly seem so clear and easy to me.Did you have a similar experience while studying? What was the formula you could least remember or the piece of theory you had to learn but then turned out useless for what you are doing now?
Michael

Hello,When I run PTCStatus to see what licences are available and in use on theserver, it reports a number of Flex_Eng packages and a number of FoundationAdvantage packages. In addition, there are some Mech_Foundation packages andsome Process_Modeler packages. Then there are some Advanced_Assembly setsand some Advanced_Surface sets.I am clear about the Foundation Advantage packages, and I think the Flex_Engpackages are probably Flex Advantage packages. However, do you know what aMech_Foundation package and/or a Process_Modeler package might be?I guess if I grab an Advanced_Assembly set and an Advanced_Surface set atthe time of starting a Foundation Advantage package, I effectively haveanother Flex_Advantage package. What can I do to make the Mech_Foundationand Process_Modeler packages into something useful? This is Wildfire 2, so it is historic Pro/E - as close to collectible assoftware gets... Regards,
Hello,In ProIntralink if you were to accidentally modify a file in your workspace which was not supposed to be modified then you could click on it and select UPDATE to make it same as the Commonspace copy. What is its equivalent in PDMLink? That is, if I accidentally modify a file on my workspace and want to make it same as the file in the Folder, how can I do that. Please help. Thanks,Shridhar

In WF4 you could get sketch points which could be used in EMX to put in mutiple bolts or ej pins. Is there a way to sketch a group of points in WF5?
Just looking to see if anyone has any experience or information on the effectiveness of PTC Partner Apriori cost management software.
Not sure where to ask this question, but I am having formatting issues when posting to the forums. I need to ad html code to format my text and paragraph's or the post shows up like a run on sentence. Is there an option that I need to toggle? I purposely made this post without adding my own html formatting code to show you what the end result looks like by default. It makes everything hard to read.
Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with their Space Pilot loosing focus when multiple windows are open in Pro E? It seams that if multiple windows are open the Space Pilot will loose focus on which one is current and will start working on a window in the background. We also use our Space in other applications and I can't say what effect this is having. This issue doesn't happen every time multiple windows are open but it does happen frequently and I never experienced it in the three or four years prior with WF 3.0.Thanks

I am using Wildfire 4, and I am trying to calculate the volume of the "empty" space in a fully assembled gearbox to determine the proper amount of oil that should be used for lubrication.I know that Pro-e is great at determining volumes of solids, but what is the best way to calculate the amount of free space in an enclosed housing that is assembled with the gear solids in place? Is this the right software for this exercise or is there an "add-on" that I should be using?Any tips on doing this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
