Morning all, I am trying to model a spring with a bend in it, similar to the attached image. Cant figure it out, must be Monday morning. Thanks for any help

I have some problem with sketcher.please help: 1-How can I snap an end point of a line to a spline? I can only snap to lines, arcs and spline endpoints (not to the curve itself) 2-i also want to add a tangent relation between a line and a spline but I cant. (again not at the end point)

When I tried to open the previously created and checked in (in windchill) mfg model. The regeneration failure occurs and it says "invalid tool id: no such tool in database". I created this document with wildfire3 M090 & checked in windchill8 database. Now I am trying to open it with wildfire3 m110 and windchill9. Pls clarify. Thanks

Has anyone ran Graphics Server on a VMWare Image?If so, What OS? 2000 or 2003?What Version of Graphics Server?

I am trying to figure out how to load up my custom default ambience and default lighting distance when the Pro/E initally loads up. I have saved my values over the "default-lights.dlg", but Pro/E still loads up with its own default ambience and default distance. Wherecan I change the automatically loaded ambience and distance?

Does anyone know what sets the limits on the thickness range for theinsert-advanced-pipe pipe? I got a user who wants to make a pipe thatis 2" od and .0526 wall thickness. For some reason the thickness canonly be bigger than .0566 so it fails to regenerate. I looked into theaccuracy and units of the pipe and they are exactly the same as anotherpipe where pro/e is happy about that thickness. Any ideas? Alfonso

Does anyone know a manner to import the nativ Solid Edge files in ProE?

One of the benefits to us going to WF3.0 was the ability to load "open"type text as well as true type. I am finding that doing this causes ProEto exit prematurely. Does anyone else experience this, and if so, haveyou come across a fix? I would try a cold shower but am a little concerned what would happen tothe electrics! Richard A. Here are the responses: I'm pretty sure you can not set to explode the detailed view only.What you can do is - Once you have the detail view created:Change it to a "general" view. Your Call out circle in the parent viewwill go away. Once you do that you can apply the explode setting to that view.Then you can Sketch in an ellipse call out on the parent view and setthe line style to phantom.That should do it.Just make sure that you associate the ellipse to the parent view: so ifyou move it ...the ellipse will move also.

I saw a demo for a ProMechanica analysis using rigid connections as a constraint. It looked very useful. Then I tried to get some more detail info on it's use using the online help. The write-up seemed very technical and hard to understand. Can anyone break it down to simplier terms and maybe give a few practical examples of it's usage.Thanks!!

I can't seem to figure out how to delete a Product Template. Making them is easy but we have some old Templates that I would love to get rid of. Can you delete them or hide them? Also, can you delete a Product?Thanks,James

Is there an easy way to cap off holes in ProE 2.0? I’m needing to do this, so I can run simulations in CFdesign. Or is there a better way of doing it? If anyone has any other helpful tips and hints it would be much appreciated.

I am trying to copy a number of components from one model to another. Is there a way to do this? The models use the same default coordinate system and are fairly similar in shape. I just need to move the components over to see if there are any issues with their placement on the other model.

Thanks - that's exactly what I was looking for. Apparently there issomething wrong with either my measure or my analysis. I get NOTCOMPUTED as the value after running a kinematic analysis, and the iconunder #3 below is grayed out. If I attempt a DYNAMIC analysis, it failsto run. "Failed to initialize dynamics analysis" I'll have to dig a little deeper.

Is there a way to change the line types pro-e creates when you save as a dwg?. Thanks in advance.

Is it just me or is the PTC call logger on their website not working?

I've just started using CFdesign with ProE and could do with as much help as possible... I've never used CFdesign and need to master it for a Master's Project. Are there any useful ideas to think of when degsining my models in ProE (ps. using Version 2.0). Help needed... Thanks
