Hello Guru's.I need to know where on PTC's website can I see what has changed in a newbuild.Thanks.Damián CastilloMCAD AdministratorPro Engineer ConsultantHensley Industries972-406-4788
Thanks to all who responded... the general consensus was that severalcompanies ARE sharing across borders, and that several others have been toldthey can't by PTC. Suggestions were also made to the fact that PTCshouldn't be able to restrict this... Seems like the standard inconsistencyof PTC sales division. No one had the Package history for 2004.
Hello,Is there a way to know if exists a pending RTP on a given PIV?I found no method for this, except PDMRTPGetList() that accept an OQL object, but I can't understand how to write OQL query to link the PIV with its RTPs even watching at Object Flow Data Diagram and related additions.I tried also with NULL_HPDMOQL as oql, but the subsequent call to PDMCursorGetNext() crashes (stack overflow)Thanks in advance.-Stefano
Associates, I have a user that wants to insert a special symbol into editable symbol text (2001). The way we currently do this is to select the note (symbol), RMB and select properties, locate the appropriate variable text in the properties box, open the symbol pallette and then insert the required special character into the variable text line. An easier way to edit the same text line is by using the edit-value command. However the special symbol pallette does not appear when using this option. Does anyone know of a better method? Is there some sort of option somewhere to have the special symbol pallette appear when using the "edit-text"command? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Dave

We are redoing our FTP server, and in doing so, we are wondering what this group does for hardware, and structure of the folders, bestpractices, etc. Here's my list of questions: (please reply and put your answers belowthe questions...thx!) 1. Do you consider your FTP capability mission critical? 2. What class of hardware do you use? (for example: Server, workstation, PC) 3. Do you use new hardware? or legacy/retired hardware to serve FTP?(for example, do you refresh your FTP server box every 36/48 months? Or as needed, and use retiredhardware? 4. What is your folder structure? (for example: In/out/pub or other?) 5. Follow up question#1: If you use the common in/out/pub folderstructure, do you allow your users to create folders in the outdirectory? 6. Follow up question #2: If you use a different folder structure, canyou describe it below? 7. Do you use blind naming? 8. Do your external customers use this FTP site? or do you just use itfor intra company data sharing? 9. Follow
Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2004 14:03:39 -0500 Thanks for all the quick replies! The tools available on the PTC web page can be downloaded from the techsupport web page at the same location you would download / order softwareupdates for ProE.Go to: http://www.ptc.com/cgi/cs/apps/SftUpd/SftUpdProd.pllook for: WEB TOOLS - PRO/ENGINEER WILDFIRE 2.0 LOCAL EDITION underPro/Engineer.
Does anyone know if the menu mapper tool and other tools available onPTC's web page at http://www.ptc.com/community/proewf2/newtools/index.htmcan be downloaded anywhere? There are a number of tools that PTC has available on the web for transitioning from ProE2001 to Wildfire 2.0, butonly a very limited number of my users have internet access. I'd like tomake some of those tools available via an internal web page. Thanks,Erik GiffordG.W. Lisk Co., Inc.

Wildfire, m180I really liked the ability in 2001 for layers to use Find> Layers Containing (or Controlling) Item.I've look through the new find tool in WF, but I don't see how to accomplish this same functionality. Is this another enhancement that actually removed good functionality?ThanksErik
I have a user who cannot hide a few layers in a view and was wondering ifanyone has had this problem. These are user created layers. We arecurrently using WF2 Build m030.
I don't know how straight the hose must be, but you could approximate a straight hose by creating your curve for your trajectory as an arc with an extremely large radius and the width from one endpoint to the other defined; and then to obtain a 180 degree turn, you simply modify the radius to be half the total width. (which will become the diameter at this point)-N8
How to turn off the label that indicates the Style State displayed in the middle of the screen while in a certain component display modeTry VIEW, SHADE.It should disappear until the next repaint. Don't know of any other way.-- Rui "Christina Haiduc" <chaiduc@compxnet.com> wrote in message news:72636@model... While walking through the Northern California woods a man came up toanother man hugging a tree with his ear firmly against the tree.Seeing this he inquired, "Just out of curiosity, what the heck are you doing?""I'm listening to the music of the tree," the other man replied."You gotta be kiddin' me.""No, would you like to give it a try?"Understandably curious, the man says, "Well, OK..."So he wrapped his arms around the tree and pressed his ear up against it.With this the other guy slapped a pair of handcuffs on him, took hiswallet, jewelry, car keys, then stripped him naked and left. Two hours later another nature lover strolled by, saw this guyhandcuffed to the tree stark naked, and asked, "What the hell happenedto you?The guy told the nature lover the whole story about how he got there. When he finished telling his story, the other guy shook his head insympathy, walked around behind him, kissed him behind the ear andsaid, "This just isn't gonna be your day."
I wanted to do a small presentation and I would love to have a detailed3D model of the human heart. Does anyone have one/know where I couldget one? Thank you,Sean
well... it's time for new maintenance contracts and stuff... management isin discussion with ptc and it's not looking so good for the moment. Our manager even came in today to make us look into the possibility/price ofaconversion to SW!!!!!This is as preliminary as it can get, but still... I have no experience withSW, so I have a lot of questions...Any of you using both? Gone through a conversion like this? What PDM systems are used? What about the price differences? Is it really that better in usability? Compatibility? Maintenance? Support? etc. etc. etc.Any experiences to put me in the right direction are welcome...Thanks,Frederic---Frederic VannesteDevelopment Technician MechanicsBARCOVIEW nv - Command & Control - TRMTheodoor Sevenslaan 106B-8500 Kortrijk - BelgiumTEL: +32-56-233404FAX: +32-56-233013mailto : -
