Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M040Not able to fetch the value(d_val) from the ProParamvalueValueGet, I am able to see the value in the visual studio while debugging but printing the value is causing issue and getting return as 0.000. What is the best practice for representing lock wire?  In an aerospace application with a large assembly there are several locations where we use lock wire to hold fasteners tight.   We are concerned with regen time on such a large model.  At the present time we are using just sketched entities in the drawing to show lock wire.  This is good for regen time on the assembly but the lock wire is not represented in the assembly and there is no part that populates the smart BoM in the drawing.     I personally don't like using draw entities because any multitude of potential changes often require re-drawing the sketch.   What is the best practice for representing lock wire?  Datum curves in the assembly?  Surfaces in the assembly?  Creo Piping and Cabling module?   Cheers,   Airfix

I am working on a design and I need to extrude 1 mm normal to a curved top surface. Reference simple part example. The top surface is not continuous. I think there's a way to offset an entire top surface down 1 mm and then cut up to that surface. How do I create that offset surface? Snapshot below is what I'd like to achieve

I need to add ballooning to all dimensions and notes in the drawing file automatically for part inspection purpose. Is there any way to perform this task? Further more, the ballooning and the respective dimensional details is required to be exported to a spreadsheet.

So I've created a sweep in an assembly as shown in the image. This sweep will be the mirrored to create two rails underneath a bicycle seat, however after creating the sweep, it isnt creating a solid shape, its just showing me where it would be, ive used points and a 3D curve to create the sweep geometry.    Is there any way i can copy out all the points and the curve created from the points to create the sweep in a new file as a new part, that way i can add this new part into the assembly? 

Why can't I select a sketch in revolve? In the "placement" tab of the revolve definition Creo won't let me select a predefined sketch. I always have to opt for defining a brand new one built in to the revolve feature. Is there something I'm not understanding?

I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M190not able to show centerline in detailing for all different views at once, not able to select centerline from the show model annotations. not able to import the text file in unattached notes in detailing.

I have been trying to build a search query to find all datum reference features with intent surfaces in a model. I can not figure out which of the search criteria would do this.    It appears that datum reference features are not explicitly handled by the search tool as a feature type. I can find all intent surfaces in a model using search function but that is a superset of what I want.   Is anyone aware of a good reference document for the search tool? 

no 3D sweep til Creo 4.0 M020..

Hi,I've got a half-section of my cylindrical part on Drawing mode in Creo Parametric 3.0. In order to annotate the inner hole I created a horizontal dimension. The thing is I'd like to have single-arrow leader (which starts from hole outline that is visible on section view) instead of both-arrows leader which is given by default. How can I achieve that? I guess I should change some default parameters value but I've no idea which ones. Thank you in advance for all replies!

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 5.0 (connected) 5.0 5.0.6.0I am not able to create the needed geometry. It seems that with the assembly feature creation selections, you are only able to remove material. I need to have a radii at the bottom side of an extruded cut, thus, I can not create the needed geometry. Using CP4.  This is probably more of a 3D modeling issue, however, I've labeled it as 2D drawing because that's the final target. Is there any way to create a Total Unroll cross section?  Cutting lines would include an arc, like the attached image.  But I want it flattened / un-rolled along the arc in the drawing. I created an offset section with an arc per the arrached offset section.  It will show the section in the drawing as a true projection.  The un-fold option is grayed out.  Section arrows show up correctly (with the arc).

Hi,I have a problem in Creo Parametric 6.0. I'd like to move a surface finish symbol when I need it. I've completely no idea how surface-finishing function works in Creo because sometimes I can move it but sometimes not. Generally I mostly use Normal to Entity position inside surface-finish config window and then I try to move symbol (e.g. on dimmension line). Please, look on the picture below You should see two views: A-A and B-B. On A-A view I can flexibly change the possiotion of 6.4 roughness symbol (and in effect I can move it on dimmension line) but on B-B view I can only move the 6.4 roughness symbol between the edges. Both views are the sections of the same part. I've no idea how it works and why it is like that. Could you help me, please, with it?Thank you very much for each answer!

Hello everybody, a customer created a series of points for a puncture resulting from a UDF. When making the pattern, the first feature is offset from the point of origin and 4 more repetitions are created. In all there are 5 repetitions instead of 4, with the first one not being centered. I did the same thing again for verification: - if I create a hole normally the stitch series works correctly - if I create the series with fdu that has the hole, the error returns to me (show attachment).   Matteo.    

I currently have a drawing template set up to use multiple drawing parameters (for example, item description, file name, revision, etc). When I create a new drawing using this template, before letting me view the drawing, it pops up a dialogue box for each use of the parameter. So, for example, it the revision parameter is used twice on the drawing template, there will be two different dialogue boxes which pop up which each ask you to input the revisions. I would much rather either input the value into one dialogue box (again, it's the SAME parameter) or be able to open the drawing and then fill in all my parameter values at once (through the parameter option under tools? unless there is a better location?)Is there a way to change this?

Hi all, I have an issue where on a 2D assembly drawing, the view shows lines that shouldn't be there. It's not all lines, some are not visible but some are - see the attached example. How do i stop this happening? It's probably an easy fix.....

Hi, How to save Solidworks datum's turned off in .sldprt file so they don't show up in Creo Assembly when you assemble a native Solidworks file that was saved to Windchill using Solidworks and the Windchill Workgroup Manager for Solidworks?   I have native Solidworks files that the datum's are showing up when the Solidworks part (sldprt) files are assembled in a Creo Assembly.  I'm not allowed to save the layers turned off from creo assembly, as it wants to modify the solidworks part file and creo's not allowed to modify the solidworks files as we are only allowing Solidworks files to be save to windchill by Solidworks through the Solidworks Windchill Workgroup Manager. The datum's are saved in Solidworks file with the display off but they show up when opened in Creo.   Anyone that works in a dual CAD environment have any ideas how to save the sldprt files in Solidworks so that the datum's are automatically turned off in the assembly with out using "datum display filters
