Creo Modeling Questions

Does anyone know if it is possible to display PDMLink informaiton, such as "Context", as a column in the Model Tree for Wildfire 5? There are several "PROI_" params available so maybe it is just a matter of figuring out the syntax? Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have on this. Andy B.

We are on the freakin bubble... 30% of the way thru Windchill 9.1 upgrade from IL 3.4 and now being asked to consider implementing WC 10 instead of 9.1. Apparently there are hooks to SAP that are more viable in 10 than in 9.1, and these hooks would be used with a parallel project having a very hard deadline.My approach has always been to rollout later versions of software after most issues have been worked out (Windchill 10.1?). But the combo of SAP hooks and not repeating the upgrade anguish has caused management to ask me to consider 10.0.So my question - does anyone have experience they're willing to share regarding Windchill 10... is it stable enough to get basic IL 3.4 functionality without worrying about all the bells and whistles?I'm going to run this by our implementation team from PTC as well and will post a summary of what I find out.Thanks for anything you can contribute.-TerTerrence McFallCAD Systems AdministratorVarian Medical Systems911 Hansen WayPalo Alto, CA 94304650-42

You just gotta believe... Intended meaning was the Spanish word for "I believe". Which of course turns us more into monks than engineers... Then again, I have always seen my Pro/E challenges as very Zen-like... I am going to shave my head and start wearing an orange robe to work. About 6 months ago I saw a post trying to gather feedback regarding Pro/Markup but there were no responses to this thread. So I'm attempting to find out if anyone is still using Pro/Markup. We're trying to understand if it can be removed now that Creo Elements/View (ProductView) has good markup capabilities. My colleague had previously used solidworks to create SLDPRT file for the project I'm working on, however he will no longer be working with us and nobody on my team has access to solidworks so I was wondering if anyone could teach me how to convert a SLDPRT file into a regular PRT file so that I may test the object using promechanica? Does anybody know how Pro figures the drill and tapped depth for a hole? I am adding a M16 tapped hole in a steel plate. A M16 x 1 gives a drill depth of 45 and tapped depth of 36, M16 x 1.5 gives a drill depth of 43.5 and tapped depth of 34.8 and a M16 x 2 gives a drill depth of 42 and tapped depth of 33.6.Obviously there is some relation based on the pitch.Using WF4Thanks

While modelling I am facing rendering problem.Pro/E is taking too much time for rendering edges of the model/planes, which is hitting performace badly.Can anybody help me in this? This past week our parent company re-evaluated the policy of transmitting CAD/CAM files between all subsidiaries and customers. In the interest of protecting our valuable intellectual property, a new policy has been mandated."3D Viewer files are not allowed to transfer/transmitted as they can be utilized, together with other CAD systems to get detailed technical information."This includes eDrawings. We've always published our eDrawings with the measurement capabilities disabled, but how can we be sure that it's really enough to secure our engineering information files? I'm hoping that someone has gone through this in the past, so what I would like to receive is some formal documentation from Geometric Technologies or SolidWorks stating its security policy and that the protection is genuine.
