Hi I am trying to show solid tools on ModuleWorks but I don't know why only the holder is shown and not the insert. I attach two pictures SOLID_TOOL.png is shaded in Creo SOLID_TOOL_2.png is in ModuleWorks. The holder is ok but the insert not Both Holder and insert have a CSYS called INSERT Holder has the parameter : VERICUT_TYPE set to HOLDER Insert has the parameter : VERICUT_TYPE set to INSERT Any idea why? Is there a config option (hidden?) that will set the default axis length for the zoom-dependent property for a coordinate system. I know I can change it. And I have to, every time. It has a default right now of 37.060 inches. I want it to be 3 inches. Haven't been able to find something on this. I know there is a hidden option for the name text size, but haven't seen anything on the axis length. Using Creo 4 M060. (We are not fast to upgrade!) Thanks
Hello community, I am using Creo version 6 (educational edition) for a couple of days now and designed a part which I would like to manufacture by using some milling processes. To do so, I click on file -> new -> manufacturing -> NC assembly -> ok, but the screen with the manufacturing options doesn't appear. Could someone please give me an advice of how to solve this issue? 🙂 Thanks for your support. MLC89
Hi, I checked a lot in this forum and over the internet but I can't find any help regarding the fact that you may use any profile geometry in Creo and that it is really taked into account in the toolpath generation. In the first photo there is a common tool geometry I use. It is like a bull mill but after the flute length there is a sloped section. I defined the tool like attached (maybe I did something wrong...I hope it !). The fact is that Creo does not take into account the "sloped zone" and when I go down milling a pocket I get collision. I mean, the tool doesn't get far from the wall as the diameter increases due to sloping. How can I manage that ? Also the next step would be the possibility to create special shaped tools to mill special grooves along lines. At this stage I see this like impossible...
Dear all, Please help, I am trying to add some standard items to mold base definition file so that each time we can just download the pre-assigned mold base directly from emx. so far I am able to add what ever pre assigned parts, just by saving it ( Save assembly definition to file). but I want to add other standard items which are not preset (example shot counter, limit switch and support pillars).Please advise how this can be done.(we are in process of standardizing the mold assembly so this very important). we are using emx 13.0
Hello, I would like to catch the first GOTO in CL file and output Z first (only for the first goto). In the CL I have: SPINDL / RPM, 7957.753876, CLWRAPID GOTO / 835.8168781015, 779.7292319751, 30.0000000000 In the post-processed file I get (yes G1 because I forced not tot have G0): G1X835.817Y779.729Z30F9999 But I would like to have 2 different lines like below (I would like to have F1000 for example): G1Z30F1000 G1X835.817Y779.729Z30F9999 (I can repeat the same line like it is) Thanks for your help.

Does anyone know how, or if it's possible, to extract the shrinkage value from a part, as a parameter? This has to be stored as a system parameter value somewhere in the model. I'd like to be able to show the general shrinkage value on our prints. Thanks, Rob

Hello, I am trying to put together a tool path for a Makino A71 with the part rotating about the B axis while surface milling. I have a pretty good understanding / experience with using this machine with sequences that reference individual coordinate systems that result in the B Axis being locked in different rotations under the same operation. What I'd like to do is surface mill around a part that actively rotates while milling. I've dabbled with some theoretical parts that were simple and everything appears to work OK in Vericut. The part I'd like to machine has a very irregular surface and cannot be cut with a helical or trajectory path. There doesn't seem to be much guidance available on this, through PTC, this site or youtube. I am certain that there are PTC users out there that can do this with their machines. If I accomplished it, it'd be a first for a user at my company. Does anyone have any advice on how to make
Hello Community, I am adding an inclined part in EMX Assembly by top-down process. Part getting added in assembly successfully, but while generating BOM the size calculated by system is rectangular even part is like pin (Circular). (Actual Size : Dia50 x 300mm - Calculated size: 258 x 258 x80) Similarly I am assembled a rectangular plate in inclined way by topdown process, wrong size calculated. (Actual Size : 408x 70x 28.3 mm - Calculated size: 408 x 68 x61) Please find the attached screen shots. I used standard Demo data set for trial of EMX assembly. Looking for response.
Just started using Creo 4 and previously when setting sequence parameters if there were options to choose from and you pressed F4 it would open the drop down box without having to press the down arrow at the option and then you could select the correct option. Is there a way to do that in Creo 4?

Greetings I'm an undergraduate mechanical engineering student working on graduation project (Exechon robot ), that robot has complex kinematics ,so I have chosen to do it in a simulation software but faced many obstacles and during searching I found a simulation video of my project made by Creo . I don't know any thing about Creo software but I'm amazed by it and want to know if I can reach my target by it . what I want to do : import my design and Creation of kinematics like joints between bodies and constraints ...etc . create path , use inverse kinematics solver to move the robot joints thus the robot tool follow the path . export motion profile of joints . Doing engineering tasks like milling or drilling . in the end I uploaded the video that attracted me here . Sorry for repeating the question but I can't find the proper section of my ask . After designing my mold cavity and extracting the mold components they are assigned a color based on my system color settings. My company will take those mold components and reassemble them in a standalone assembly to be inserted into a mold base, I will usually changed the color and maybe add transparency to each individual component at this time. My issue is if I ever need to make a geometry change in the manufacturing assembly, all the components are reassigned back to the default system colors again. Does anyone know of a way to stop the system colors overriding my user defined appearances? I know I can change the system color to something else but I generally don't want all the mold components the same color, different colors makes it easier for the toolmakers to differentiate parts and shutoff locations. Creo 4.0 M090 I'm doing some 3-axis milling, simple 2D arc and line motions, and standard pecking drill cycles, etc. A strange thing is happening, apparently due to the part models involved. Here's a brief rundown of what I did. A. Added reference model and workpiece. B. Defined some milling sequences for those two parts. C. NC-Check works fine, shows me a simulation of the material removal. D. Added another reference model and its workpiece. Basically the next stage of manufacture of the part and the results of the previous steps. E. Defined a milling sequence and some drilling cycles for the two new parts. F. Now, NC-Check gives the message in the subject line above, not only for these new cycles and the operation containing them, but also for the previously completed sequences (in steps A and B). So, the question is, what in the world have I done wrong? I've had this problem with specific sequences when I've had a cutter that is too small, or when there is a difference in acc
I would like to use the selection "DRILL_DEPTH" as a criteria but it is not available in the parameter list.Currently it is not possible to add parameters yourself. The parameters listed in the 'rule: parameter' list box are system defined parameters.
UI for data output offers some new improvements in SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0: Name of Operation Exports will be named like selected operation by default. All operations of electrode assembly can be exported in a row without changing the name. Output by Simplified Representation In addition to export by operation or selected electrodes, users can now also select a simplified representation for export. Simplified representations could be added for repair, new electrodes necessary through design change or gate electrodes. Operations from SMARTElectrode 7.0 Allow import and output of operation sub-assemblies from SMARTElectrode 7.0. A new operation has to be defined if new electrodes should be added.
