In the attached Mathcad Prime 3.1! worksheet I am attempting to graph slope vs. distance on a beam. On the vertical axis is slope. How do I specify angle as the unit type?
Hello,Please scroll down to page 3 where the red arrow is. i have placed my question there. How can i report the positive roots only and place them in a vector form ?
Thanks! Tom
Hello all. I'm new to Matcad and i am trying to make simple logistic map.And I get an error - 'value must be scalar or matrix'.Could u give me few advises to solve it, or show how to write down correct formula?Thank you.
Hi can someone please show me how to do a graph on mathcad for this question? all help greatly appreciated. Sorry I posted it on wrong thread earlier.

With http:// no problem.
Hallo,Habe gerade versucht einen Online Video Lernkurs auf zu rufen.Es kommt immer die Meldung "No playable sources found", obwohl ich den Adobe Flashplayer installiert habe.Vielen Dank im vorausVolker Jacobs
How can I define a range variable when the variables are not necessarily in defined pattern? I have got round the issue in the attached using a lookup expression from a table but can I not define d as a comma separated list? d:= 12,16,20,24,30,36 ? to simplify the expression?
Hi!I'm a bit new to the symbolic "abilities" in Mathcad 14. Is it possible to define something symbolic?for example:I would like to define:Ma:= P*X - F*D and Mb:=P*X and use the definitions in further symbolic calculations without have errors such as "this variabl is undefined" popping up.best regards
Hi,I am using R to analyze some thermal conductivity data, and I also have some related functions in MathCad 15. Does anyone know of a way to access or import MathCad into R?I know it is possible to do it with MatLab: there is a package written in R for it.I believe that many R users use C++ to write the functions that I have in MathCad: and it's easy to import C++ into R. But I don't know C++.I have a lot of code in R, and it does what I need in general, so I want to use it as my main package for this application. I'm just hoping to find a way to re-use what i've done in MathCad.I asked the same question on StackExchange and so far nobody has come back and said it's possible.I suspect that it's not possible, and that i will have to re-type/formulate my MathCad code into C++ for use in R.Thanks,Alan
i know it's very basic but i cannot find an answer by myself:i cannot put ":=" after second value (r2).Thanks..
Hey everyone 🙂So, I'm working on a system of equations, in which we have some unknown variables and some variables which are known (known in the sense that they can be anything that is chosen later on, they do not have any set numerical value yet).I'm new to MathCad. How exactly do I go about using variables which have no actual numeral value yet? They are simply symbols that should be used when performing the necessary calculations to show how they relate to the unknown variables in the system. I haven't exactly been able to find an answer in the help documents I tried to search in. All they did show was how to define variables that either had numerical values, or stood in relation to some other variables. I just need to be able to name some identities that can be moved around as if they were just any type of number.Thank you all 🙂
I am trying to understand the Hasofer-Lind safety index method but I have found no references with a complete but simple example illustrating this method. Has anyone on the discussion forum attempted this and if so would they be willing to upload their example template so that I can examine what they have done so that I understand it. Unfortunately all the references I have describe lay down complicated math which doesn't give one an intuitive feel for this important concept which is often used in quantitative risk assessments.Thanking you in advance, Mark Buckton.
Thought I would start a forum post to alert anybody, though it might be slight amount of people, that the Prime 3.0 will crash when run alongside EVGA onscreen display. This is the closest I could track the crashing errors too. Turned off EVGA and no errors associated with crashing. Most of the crashes happened when I dragged the equations around on the sheet.Simple enough to turn off EVGA, but thought I would report it to the forums and will send in error report details.
Hello everyone!I have a problem with symbolic calculus (nothing special), it relates to a project of mine, and regards the calculation of the response to the sawtooth of a system with a known transfer function. As it is making me lose a lot of time, I ask help to a mathematician experienced on the subject and that he can fix it. I have attached the file containing the worksheet.Thank you very much.
Hello everyone! I've a little problem with variables, namely: is it possible to delete a style name once defined and used, but no more useful and problematical? I think it isn't. Thank you in advance.
hello folks,I'm trying to fit a function to the reversal points of an oscillation I measured some time ago. I tried LeastSquaresFit, but it fails claiming that the confidence limit was exceeded. I tried different confidence limits but to no avail.Does anybody has a suggestions how to make it fit?I'm using MC15 on a win7 machine.Raiko
I was trying to draw this graph, but how im supposed to define x ?
Hi, everyone,I am trying to construct the finite element function through a loop since the function is split into parts according to the number of elements. In the attachment I define uh(x) as the approximating function which follows:for each element,uh(x)=a*N1(xi)+b*N2(xi)+c*N3(xi),where a, b, c are the nodal values read from the u vector constructed. N(xi) is the defined function where xi ranges from -1 to 1. A mapping from x to xi is also defined in the loop (xi=2*x*NumELE-(2*i-1)), as xi is for each local domain and x is for the global. When I test the function with a value of x, Mathcad suggests that it can only be performed on an array,is there a way to construct such kind of piece-wise function through for-loop?Looking forward to your help!Thank youShawn
I have a question about the x-y trace function in MC15When you select a point, the trace box only displays the co-ords to 5 sig figs - if you "Copy x" or "copy Y" you don't get any more precision, and it is not enough to uniquely identify a point when you have a Monte Carlo analysis with 10^6 points. Is there any way I can increase the resolution? The little example below illustrates my point

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. How can I use "Given/Find" in this situation (see my file) to find e(s) and k(s) (which are functions, not exact values)? The problem is a beam made of two glued materials (iron and copper), embedded at one end, loaded with a load P (down, positive y) at the other:I have to find the distribution of "sigma zz" (z is the axis of the beam), for which e(s) and k(s) are needed. However I think mine is just a problem of calculus, so even non-engineer could help.
Hi!I am plotting the angular difference between the input and output shaft (beta) of a universal joint at an angle (alpha). How can I get the maximum value of the function beta? (where beta is a function of phi1 and phi2, and phi2 a function of phi1)I am using Mathcad prime 3.0.Best regards Christer VestermarkThe relevant equations:The plot, where the relevant function beta is purple.
Hello!I'm a new mathcad-user, and I have some problems with calculation of the displacement of a hydraulic motor.PTC Mathcad obviously calculates differenz results, when using units and no units ! ????calculation without units:q = ( (590,72 * 2 * PI) / 380 * 10^5 * 0,9 ) * 10^6q = 108.526calculation with units:q = ( (590,72N*m * 2 * PI) / 380 * 10^5Pa * 90% ) * 10^6q = 102.82cm^3Please help me!Many thanks in advance!BRPaul
