I have an evaluation copy of Prime 3.1 and the file converter crashes for me. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have a single user Mathcad 15 license. I uninstalled Mathcad 15 from my old computer and installed it on my new computer. Every few days I get a message "sw_license_email_1173070.dat does not exist." It asks me if I want to open the license wizard? I say yes and I supposedly get a new license except the file never appears and a few days later I get the same message. I have a file sw_license_email_1826767 that was apparently created when I installed Mathcad 15, but that is not the file being searched for. Apparently I am limited to online help. I have tried creating a new license file, but the hostid format always seems to be wrong. Various places have said it is the C: drive serial number or the MAC address of he ethernet adapter, but the format is always rejected as wrong without telling what the right format is. Apparently you cannot get technical help without a maintenance contract. I am not trilled about paying a software company extra to fix its bugs.
I used MC15M030 to solving an optimitization problem, and I defined ALL >= 0, all the variable large or equal to zero. I have used 4 methods to do it in a same Maximize Solveblock, but I have got 3 different result. Look at the pictures below: the result of (1) and (2) are same and right. (3) and (4) are different and wrong. How to explain this puzzle?
Can someone help me with this loop? I cannot seem to get the loop working for the for statement
Hi guys I am still learning the ptc mathcad software. I am trying to use trial and error to find the solution of depth (Y) in open channels using mathcad solver block. I have set all guess values and constraints, how best can I solve this? Or is there another way of determining the value of Y. I have also attached the original question with step by step calculations and correct answers, in case one needs to restart everything. I appreciate your input and comments. Thank you in advance.
I have the following fairly simple equation. When I use the solve it say no solution was found but I can iteratively find a solution myself?
I am sure I am missing something but...I want to multiple two vectors... Say, a vector of molecular weights times an equal length vector of component molar flow rates to produce a vector of component mass flow rates. If I simply multiply the two vectors in MCP3.1, I get a scalar which is the sum of the products (in the example above it would be the total mass flow for the stream). But how do I generate a vector where each element is the product of a mwt times a molar flow?[I did look at the vector operators and functions but none of them seemed to do it.]TIA--Doug

Is it possible for Mathcad Prime to integrate a piece wise function? In the attached worksheet I am attempting to integrate a piece-wise function 4 times. If possible I'd like to be able to create a graph of these functions and then pull values from the graph.
Dear PTC Community Users.I attached a simple file about Natural Gas basic properties: Specific Gravity and Pseudocritical Properties.RegardsSBL
i better do math than talk in english.D:=42L:=41C:=5C:=(D-d)/Lcan i get the value of "d"?(yes, can be done even mentally, but how you do it in mathcad?)
All,I am trying to numerically solve a transient 2D heat equation in a square plate that is 1m^2. With boundary conditions (bottom and left wall at 200C/top and left wall at 0C) and initial condition of T0=21C using MathCAD Prime (3.0).Can someone guide me to how and approach such a problem on MathCAD. I have found that multigrid and numol functions are the ian ones used but multigrid is for 1D however.ThanksAhmed Jalal
Is Mathcad 14 compatible with Windows 8.1? I tried installinf 14 on my new pc. I got a license from PTC but Mathcad doesn't run.Dave Fleming
Hi, everyone,Suppose I have a 13 by 13 matrix, (shown in attachment), what I want to do is to extract its 4th-5th, 7th, 9th-10th rows and columns to create a 5 by 5 matrix. So far I only know that the function "submatrix" works with extracting consecutive rows and columns, so how to extract non consecutive rows and columns?Looking forward to hearing from you,Thank you very muchBest Shawn
Hey. So in my Computer Methods class we have to determine a least squares quadratic fit from given data points. I basically just followed an example he had in the book. I can get the right answers by hand but for some reason my mathcad values aren't evaluating correctly. The f(xi) values are supposed to be very similar if not the same as the yi values. That way the regression line fits with the yi plotted values. Someone please help? Thanks.
Hello,I've been trying to find a way to plot the data I have with the proper scaling of the x & y axis. The information I have is from test data, where I have calculated the gibbs energy of the test conditions. I have a set of data of particle measurements that are given in size ranges, but I'm not able to get the data properly graphed with the scaling I'm needing. The information is in the attached file.
Dr. Valery Ochkov visited PTC headquarters today. He traveled all the way from Russia to speak with the Mathcad business unit. I was able to have lunch with Dr. Ochkov and discuss his ideas on how to better share worksheets within the community. He also came bearing gifts. Here's the Mathcad clock he gave me...it is now hanging in my office. Thanks Valery, it was a pleasure to finally meet you in person.-Dan
I was not able to see today (03.20.2015) solar eclipse. But I created it himself with Mathcad Video Link : 5868 Visit please Three (and more)-body problem with Mathcad animation
In the attached Mathcad Prime 3.1! worksheet I am attempting to graph slope vs. distance on a beam. On the vertical axis is slope. How do I specify angle as the unit type?
Hello,Please scroll down to page 3 where the red arrow is. i have placed my question there. How can i report the positive roots only and place them in a vector form ?
Thanks! Tom
Hello all. I'm new to Matcad and i am trying to make simple logistic map.And I get an error - 'value must be scalar or matrix'.Could u give me few advises to solve it, or show how to write down correct formula?Thank you.
Hi can someone please show me how to do a graph on mathcad for this question? all help greatly appreciated. Sorry I posted it on wrong thread earlier.
