Hello, Everyone. Thanks in advance for your time and help. Best Regards.
My company has recently gone over to Mathcad Prime due to most of our employees only needing to do basic calculations but I tend to need to use it for a wider range of uses but I still need to be using the same version as everyone elseAt present I am working on a wave loading worksheet and need to integrate between two points to obtain the force on an object but I keep getting a message saying that it can not converge (even though it can solve the parts of the integration individually)Naturally I tried to see what options I had and I noticed that I had the multithreading enabled so I thought I'd turn that off and now it can solve the worksheet. Then tried turning it on again and it couldnt solve the equation, then on and again it solved itMy question is what is going on with the multithreading and how it affects what it does when it integrates an expression? I know multithreading allows use of more of the computers cores and lets multiple equations be solved at once but it also seems t
I have the problem that I would like to use a function with a set of values which are in an array. For example measured values. My problem is that inside the function is a multiplication, so the vector is multiplicated with another vector. But I do not want this, I just want mathcad to take each value and to give out a vector with the results for each value in the input vector. This works if a range is defined but not with a vector. I understand that there is a matrix multiplication, but is there no way to tell mathcad what I want to do? Here is an example:
I'm new to MathCAD(using MathCAD15). I'm trying to write a program that iterates through a set of data to locate the falling edge of a trip signal. The data set I am working with has thousands of lines where the voltage drops from arround 2.5v to around zero at the time a machine trips offline. I wrote a silplified program with only 10 datapoints as a baby step tward my goal. I am getting an error that doesnt make sense to me. "This value must be a Matrix of scalar elements"See the attached program, any help is appriciated.
Useful documents collected from for the forum.EDIT (WE): The papers were written by Stuart Bruff back in 2011. I add a printout of both merged into one pdf for those not being able to open Mathcad files.
Most of my 14/15 files failed conversion. The conversion log only says "Conversion failed and Conversion aborted". Why is this?
I have the following diffusion problem form "Mathcad for Engineers" Adidharma et al. I have worked through several ODE examples successfully, however when working through the attached worksheet I receive the following errors, worksheet is attached. I have the following questions: 1)When setting up the function the derivative notation of d/dx or d/dt is allowed is this also allowed in the PDE solver? 2)In the book on Mathcad online it mentions that PDE Boundary Conditions are required to use "CRT F7" to setup a derivative, however when I do this I still have an error?3)The online book also mentions that boundary conditions need to have literal subscripts using ".", I have tried entering the function "f" and then the literal subscipt "." followed by "x" however, this did not work? Please advise what I am doing wrong. I have Mathcad version14. Thank you in advance. Sincerely,Walter
Hello, please scroll down in my attached sheet to the big red arrow where the error is . Unless i did something wrong, this method sometines works and some times i get an error . Not sure what the issue is. All variables are defined or calculated right above the equation. Thanks!
Hello!I'm currently working on making a report using Mathcad Prime 3.0 and would like to display some of the results from my calculations in the beginning of the document. Is there a way to do this other than using global definitions? The reason that I don't want to use the global definitions is that they can't be changed like functions or normal variables. Other than being a hassle it is plain impossible the way I have set up my current document. There is a simple example in the attached file.
I have a MathCAD 14 worksheet that I'd like to reference data from an excel 2003 file into. I'd like to create multiple 21 and 23 row single column vectors with data from various areas of the single excel worksheet. I know where in the data is in the worksheet so I can speciifiy specifcally which specific cells to reference instead of searching for the data from the MathCAD worksheet. I've used the command "readfile" in the past but that seems to only be useful when referencing a single value from an excel sheet. I tried using the excel component but the examples in the help don't seem to be helpful for setting a vector equal to a specific set of cells. My question is how do I set a vector in MathCAD to equal specific range of cells in my excel file?
Does anybody know if there is a documentation of the error function telling why some strings lead to strange behaviour? The effect can be confirmed not only in MC15 but back in Mathcad 11, too - the errormessages are slightly different, though. Its annyoing - ever so often I am not allowed to add pictures to the post. The insert image window would open but never completes showing its full contenet - no buttons, etc.So I only attach the files and maybe I am able to edit that post later adding a pic.Now inserting the image seemed to have worked.BTW, ever so often I see "currently being moderated" flashing at the upper left of my messages. Anybody any information about the moderation done here? I ever so often reply to a thread and after I sent my post I see some other answers which, according to the time stamp, should have been there when I first looked at the thread but they weren't. Time delay as of moderation?
Hello, please scroll down to the red arrow in the attached sheet. i have been able to solve for Pu, using solve. but the issue is i have no control over the number of decimal places, the unit, and be able to use the result for Pu in subsequent calculations. Are there other ways to be able to do this? Thanks!
Hello,i am trying to solve for the variable (e.wall) in the equation similar to what i posted earlier. the result should be in inches or feet. I am not sure if i did any thing wrong. Thanks!
Is anyone aware of how to create a matrix of a data vector using the Jackknife procedure in Mathcad 15?
Hello All,My program returns calculated parameters in a table like the attached picture. How can I address Mathcad to 3D-plot the the first column vs the other columns. How can I recall the data from the dolumns to use them for the next programing stage?Thank you.Payman
Hello everyone, Im trying to find all roots of the equation (2+3i)^(1/4) ...I can find one in mathcad but have no idea how to make it work out all the others (4 in total) and have had no luck browsing the web so really hope you can help me!thanks in advanceKonrad
Hello,Please scroll down in my sheet until you see the red arrow where i have my question. i am trying to maxamize the value for (Lpm_v) so that the ratio at the bottom does not exceed a certain value which i listed inside my sheet. Thanks!
I created a variable in PSI (lbs/in^2)units, multiplied by a unitlesss number. The issue is that my resultant output "Fr" comes up in other format, I just want it to show as PSI, like in the variable. tried "base unit " but nothing changes, please see pic. Thanks
Pipe materials are classified as either rigid (e.g. concrete, vitrified clay, cast iron, asbestos-cement, etc.) or flexible (e.g. PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, steel, etc.). The strength of rigid pipe is determined by its crush strength. The strength of flexible pipe is determined by pipe and soil stiffness and is usually evaluated in terms of the deflection of the pipe wall under load. The purpose of these two worksheets* is to estimate pipe wall deflection, using the Modified Iowa Formula, for a single pipe (material & diameter), with a solid wall, in a trench condition, with a superimposed wheel load. Lusk_Flexible Pipe Design - Range of Soil Cover.mcdx is intended for a complete system design where the cover on the pipeline varies from location to location. Lusk_Flexible Pipe Design - Single Case.mcdx is intended to evaluate a single location and is thus shorter and simpler to use. These worksheets apply primarily to gravity flow pipelines such as sewers, storm
I'm trying to right a small programming loop to increase the size of a dimension until it passes a certain safety check. Here's what I wrote:All of the OTM values are defined before the function as well as the values for "Code", W.f, FS.OTM, D, a, W.T, D.f, R.p.x, A.p. However, this never produces a value for W.f.new. Can anyone point out where I'm going wrong with this?
I using the default report template and was wanting help with any formatting tricks to get my report ready. Is there a way to make a table of contents? Title Page?
The FIFA 2014 world cup in Brazil is almost upon us and you can almost certainly sense the growing anticipation and football fever that is building around the world. Inevitably the world cup will tend to dominate conversations whether it’s in offices, pubs, with friends in the park, on the train or at home with the family. There is also the obligatory world cup sweepstake to really get you in the spirit. I for one will be supporting England. Recently Prof Stephen Hawking posted an interesting blog on the odds of winning specifically focussing on England’s chances of winning matches in the world cup.Using Professor Hawking’s study we can begin to quantify our chances of success in Brazil. His analysis is based on the results from all 45 matches England have played in since 1966 and all 204 penalties taken in the 22 world cup penalty shoot outs. Using this data he was able to come up with 2 general logistic models linking the probability of England winning a match and a second model for
