I live on the outskirts of Asheville, NC, on the US East coast. Regularly during the summer and fall, we receive the visit of black bears. They live in the surrounding mountains and freely roam around the neighborhoods, looking to see if there is anything interesting in our trash, or just hang out…  This one was doing just that as I was working on the porch… Thought I’d share with the Community!   (view in My Videos)

The salesman was there to submit his company's bid, or price quote, for a particular job. He couldn't help but notice, however, that a competitor's bid was on the purchasing agent's desk. Unfortunately, the actual figure was covered by a juice can. The temptation to see the amount quoted became too much, and the salesman reached over and lifted the can. His heart sank as he watched thousands of BB pellets pour from the bottomless can and scatter across the floor.

However, they are only allowed to take steps of a length of a maximum of half the remaining distance. The mathematician knows it isn't possible to get to the sack on these conditions, so he does nothing. Then the engineer walks half the distance, half again and then half again. Finally, when the sack is in arm's reach, he grabs the sack and walks back. "But...." says the mathematician, "...how...?" "Measurement insecurity!" says the engineer, ".... close enough!"

Standing Desks Are AWESOME! 🪑⛔ It was around mid-2019 when I started to take standing desks more seriously than I ever had before. Prior to that I'd always dabbled a bit, but now it is very much part & parcel of work life. It's really helped with my back troubles and helps me maintain a focus by keeping my body constantly alert. It is definitely burning more calories (so i can eat more, LOL) and overall I just feel so much better for it.[the truth behind standing desks, as per Harvard's Research is that it's only slightly more...] Recently I lucked out with a online deal and found the most perfect desk to put into the home office (replacing the old make shift DIY version I used since the beginning of lockdown in 2020). But standing is not for everyone... Loving My New Set Up 💖👏 Not too big... not too small... just right. And with the perfectly sized fold away bar stool (2nd hand, dirt cheap, happy days!) it's absolute heaven. I personally believe that having a great environment

Hi, Everyone!   So your PTC Community Manager spent much of August on vacation.  I have been really guilty during my PTC tenure of letting my PTO (paid time off) "go" or roll over...and over.... One Stack To Rule Them All.... or not! PTC is quite the classic organisation when it comes to project management tools & systems. It's a large corporation with many divisions and many preferences in way of working! That means that we end up with quite some variances in our stacks, and it is often at times confusing as well as mind boggling that companies can so easily end up looking like this: 😲🙈   In A Ideal World I am the kind of person that LOVES streamlined, simple & effective systems. Just one or two to get the job done and preferably with the whole company on them and working in the same (or similar) manner. Alas, we are humans and that's not how it works 😉 Just recently I was presenting a cool topic at Trello Events Gombe and it felt odd that I had to explain how we use both Atlassian and MS apps to get our work done. We're Halfway there! I woke this morning to major disappointment... instead of grabbing breakfast and sitting down to the latest & greatest Tokyo 2020 has to offer, I was grimly reminded that the Olympics ended over a week ago.  Bummer! But all is not lost, because on the 24th, the Paralympics commence. YES! More sport. Whoop Whoop. 🌈🥇👏 Allow yourself to dream... Whenever the Olympics come round I always find myself wondering what it would be like to be an Olympian. Walking out into the stadium during the opening ceremony. The excitement. The nerves. This new element has been tentatively named "Administratium." Administratium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 111 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by a force called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Administratium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Administratium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second.
