Hi, I am new to Creo Illustrate and I'm trying to wrap my head around using it. I'm using Creo 7.0. When it comes to standards - they contain all the needed styles, symbols, properties. I know how to create a standard, export or add one but I can't seem to be able to find how to edit a standard. It seems a natural thing to be able to edit such things - specifically I need to add some symbols "on the fly" when I come across a need for one. I found out I can download a zip file with text based setting for standards but it's painfully time consuming to edit that every time I need to do it and I don't even know as of now if I'll be able to add proper symbols or callout using this workflow. Could you please let me know if there's a way to edit symbol library or callout library a "normal way"? Kind regards, Tom
So have two different PVZ files that I load one then add another viewable to session. They both had annotation sets and groups available in each PVZ file. Why can't I have access to the second set of annotations or groups? Is there a way to extract those annotations and groups and apply them to the merged into one? This allows multiple people to work on various parts of a project and then bring them all together having access to all those marked up locations and notes. And then merge them into new Annotation sets. Thanks much
We recently updated our drawing formats to show a date of issue, as well as the date of the revision. The problem I'm now running into is when the updated representation is created for Creo View, the date in the title block is showing the *entire* date, but the view in Creo shows the correct format. I've tried republishing several times, but keep getting the same result. This is what I'm seeing when a new representation is created in Windchill. This is what is shown in Creo, and what we're hoping to see in Creo View.
Hello all,I am a newbie here and I am using Creo Illustarte. So I hope that I will ask correctly. My question:Sometimes Illustrate displays a curve in an edgy way.See my attached example. The cap and the O-ring are actually round. How can I fix this?
Is there any method for creating multiple planar sections when viewing .pvz files? Are there any plans to create other, non-planar types of sections?
Hello, can we get the length measurement in Creo Illustrate as in Creo View ? Thanks
Hello, The coordinate of creo layout (.cem) is X,Y which correspond to the front view of an assembly (.asm). additionaly to a layout in the front view, I have to create a layout with a X,Z coordinate to correspond to the top view of the assembly. Is it possible to modify / redifine the coordinate of a layout ? Thanks
Hi, Is there a way/setting to publish the EPMDocument attachment to a PDF? Requirement is to add a PDF/GIF as a CAD Object attachment and publish it. Is this possible in Windchill publisher? thanks,
Hi,Creo Illustrate 7.0Is it an oversight or another weird "feature" that there's no option for publishing PDFs with localization options (in different than source language)? @agarland Oh yeah, and marking another language as the source language doesn't work...the output is in the "original" source language. This is madness... I just found https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS287261So I guess it's a "feature"... Does it need a kicker in the form of "community idea" to be fixed or writing one is just waste of time? The same appears for movies and U3D files.
Hi i want to publish each steps that i made individually but i can't find that kind of function. Is there anyway to publish each steps that i made?
Creo Illustrate 7.1*There's actually multitude of issues with localization. Apparently no one has ever used it until recently... How localization should work:- Choose source language (default = english)- Choose or create another language and add it as a "target language"Creo creates an xlf file containing <source>*current callout text*</source> tags for each callout- User opens the c3di archive and finds the xlf file created.*By the way...the fact that we can't add "target" text in the UI but need to go to the archive, open the notepad and add <targer></target> tags with translation is so atrocious that no wonder nobody played with this. Why on earth would you keep it in this state for so many years is beyond ones comprehension! Even though it's an easy fix.- User finds the text he wants to translate, adds the <target>*translated text*</target> tags- User updates the file in archive and restarts Creo Illustrate- Now you can change between transl
May anyone please provide a recommended workflow for updating SBOM?Currently we import PVZ files into Creo Illustrate to produce operation steps and associated graphics and annotations. This works very well until we receive a new updated PVZ.When the new updated PVZ is imported, many of the links break requiring graphics and annotations to be rebuild. For example, importing an updated PVZ where a sub-assembly has a new revision results in broken links and requires all graphics and annotations for each operation to be rebuild.
Hi.Creo Illustrate 7.0 here. Long story short - Is it possible (in a direct or indirect way) to reuse illustrations for different - alternate - versions of assemblies? What I mean by that - Let's say I have a dozen of top level assemblies of a complicated product, say a car. I have created a set of illustrations (let's say 200) for car No. 1. And it's cool. Now, car No.2 is 80% exactly the same, but just some components are part of different subassemblies, they have a little bit different geometry and parameters (attributes). They may end up in different subassemblies sometimes but in general the structure is very similar. It's just a bit different version to car No.1. Same story goes for 3rd, 4th car and so on. They form a group of products from the same family, but differ in detail. I wish to reuse the set of illustrations I've spent a lot of time polishing for the whole family of cars. I wish to tweak some things here and there but under no circumstances want I to
I am currently running Creo Schematics 4.0 and it's taking me a minimum of 45 minutes to export sheets from my designs that need to be used in other designs. Is there anything that I can do to reduce the time it takes to export (i.e. clear cache, simplify library, etc.)? We use a central catalog that I do not control but understand the structure well enough that I could attempt to make a simpler structured copy of it for my own testing. Is that something that would likely help or is there something better that I should try. We do use multicore processors in our computers, but it does not appear that our copy of Creo Schematics takes real advantage of that fact if it's even capable of doing so. I'm just getting real tired of not being able to get my work done because of slow exporting speed.
The "Capture Location" and/or "Restore Location" function is broken in Creo View at least up to version 8.0. Just lost an hour of work moving parts and saving their position using "Capture Selected". Then I was going to reset the position of those parts to the original position using "Restore Selected To Original". Instead, however, the parts' position was reset to the captured position that I had moved them to previously, and the original position was entirely lost, for every single Viewable and Annotation set of the assembly/file. Thus, this feature is broken because "Restore to Original" erroneously restores not the original position, but the last captured position of the respective parts. This should of course only happen if you select "Restore to Saved" and not "Restore to Original" 😤 @unknown, please fix this urgently.
The dimension values are changing in the representations of Solidworks drawing after publishing by Solidworks worker. What could be the problem ?. can anyone help me on it ?
Creo schematics shut down on me. And now when I try to open the file I was working on, Creo schematics reports that 'Directory in use by an open design'. How can I open my old design.
I just downloaded Creo View 8.0 and I noticed that when I load a big assembly, The "loading parts..." bar is not showing the loading percentage (see attached screenshot). I used to have the loading percentage on older Creo View versions. Anyone knows how to add it back or did PTC removed it? Thanks.
Hello Community, is it possible to update certain parts or assemblies of an existing PVZ file, ideally using Creo View only (for example by "Add Viewable to Session" or similar) -- thereby retaining the views, positions, displacements, transformations etc. of these parts and assemblies as saved in the respective Annotation Set?I'm asking because I've put a lot of work into a PVZ file with many carefully drafted annotation sets (that together represent several motion sequences of various parts and assemblies relative to each other), and I'd rather not have to recreate the whole lot just because the geometry of some parts has changed a little.
I am using Creo Schematics Release 3.0 and DatecodeF000 How can I change the global parameters? All the commands in the "Edit Global parameters" menu are greyed out.I am working with a catalog that was provided to me directly. Where and how are the derived functions stored? Are they linked to this catalogue?I have a derived function that adds a dash between the 3rd and 4th character of a string. This function is visible in the globals parameters but does not seem to work because the parameter always remains at "UNSET" when I work in the schema. What could be the reason for this? Translated with www.deepl.com Translated by Corina Ionescu, on June 27th 2022 Comment peut-on modifier les paramètres globaux ? I am using Creo Schematics Release N/A and DatecodeN/AWhen I create a new project it asks me to usetemplate design “C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC\Creo3.0\M010\Schematics\creoschematics\demodb.rsd”, if I don’t select this then Idon’t see any components in “Catalog Explorer”, Is there a way to manually setthe path to symbol library??

Is there a way to control visibility of callouts and notes in Creo Illustrate 7.0?
In Creo View MCAD, you can change the color of the selected components pretty easily. However, this only seems to work for solids. If some or all of your component is surfaces, those surfaces stay the original color. Is there an easy way to also change the color for surfaces? You can manually select each individual surface to change the color using the right click menu, but that is incredibly tedious to do for hundreds of surfaces.
